The Warriors 2010 Remake

'Cause the new generation needs its own Warriors movie that speaks to our struggles. :cmad:

All i'm saying is nothing wrong with the remake and it can be grest.

Hey man no one complained when they remade FT13 or any of them horror movies. Nothing wrong with remaking this. Ton of people who have never heard of Warriors before. So thats a good reason to remake it.
Um. I hated when they remade those horror movies. And there is something wrong with remaking this, which for some reason has gone way over your head. Probably the same reason that I have to sit here for a little while trying to figure out what each of your posts mean.

Screw the old movie... people my dad's age are in it! :cmad:

I definitely did..... alot of those remakes were wretched

Warriors can be remade and be a great film. I guess thats end of disussion then.

Actually. The remake will be a piece of crap that is nothing like the original Warriors... because they're removing everything that was special about the original. That's the end of it. :whatever:

No it's not.

I mean, how is that possibly the end of discussion?

ending cause you cant handle the discussion is more like it

No I was saying I guess that is end of discussion cause I think remake can be good and you people think it will not. Guess its nothing more to say.

And Gilpesh its a remake. Remakes are suppose to be different from the originals. If it was the same, what would be the point in remaking it.

Anyone up for watching Escape from L.A?

Come on, give me a break. This movie will be bad.

But...but....but he directed True Romance.:o

But that was nearly 20 years ago.

I liked some of his more recent stuff, like Man on Fire, but he needs to calm down on his 'style'. It's the "mid life crisis MTV cinematography" turns me off. Just because it worked for one movie doesn't mean work for all of them.

I just think that Tony Scott is not right for the remake.

If I wanted a remake, I would like to see a dude like Darren Arononsky doing it. Even then, I would rather see more of his original stuff (like Black Swan).

Also, I think you're realizing now that the movie is very close to the hearts of many. Image if someone posted a "Goonies" remake thread. :(

Yeah I do realize it. Maybe they should not remake it then if so many people will cry and not even give it a chance.

I probably would see it, but I'm not expecting much.

It's a Catch 22. If they do the samething, what's the point. If they don't do the same thing, then it might lose the cult vibe from the original. Personally, I wouldn't want it to happen but we'll see.

Okay how about they do it like this then. Have the movie take place in 1968 in New York City. I say 60s cause you had racial tension ,assassinations, rebellious teens and yuppies.

Not to mention the emerging of street gangs of popularity of them. I know street gangs been around before the 60s, but I heard thats when they really started to come around.

Anyways they can have the colorful street gangs, and have them at over the top and all that other stuff. That can atleast make the Warriors fans happy.

Not remaking the movie will make this Warriors fan happy.

No offense sir but your just one guy. Lol ton of people will still go and see the movie if they do remake it. I'm one of them.

Hey sometimes one voice makes all the difference. This is just another unecessary remake and another oppotunity for Hollywood to be lazy.

but I don't know if these tons of people are going to embrace the idea; it's probably gonna split the fans. Without this cult following of the original, the studio wouldn't even think twice of redoing it. They know that The Warriors has a cult following, that's why they're doing it.

I've said it before and I've said it again (especially when people want a remake of a movie like Ghostbusters): SOmetimes I feel like studio truly don't understand what made the original movie so special in the first place. It's not the action or visual effects but the whole palate (script, direction, cast, etc).

If they are able to make something special out of a Warriors remake, then okay, that's okay with me. But if they're trying to cash in the name brand, then screw it.

What if they trying to make it special then? Only one way to find out and thats seeing the movie. If they even remake it in the first place.

I've got a gut feeling that they won't and they're captalizing on the name. Again, I don't think Tony Scott is the guy for the job.

What if they trying to make it special then?
They're not trying to make it special. They're doing the same remake trend that always seems to crop up... make it grimmer and grittier and more realistic.

That's what this whole thing is of moving it to LA, making it modern day, and using real gangs.
