"Gotham City Noir" RPG Application

Gothamite you would like to portray: Richard John "Dick" Grayson aka
Nightwing

Resume: (Brief character biography) Dick Grayson was a good cop - one of the few. But he became increasingly irritated at the GCPD's inability to influence the crime situation in Gotham. Seeing the effect that Batman - and others like him - have on organized crime, Dick decided that he wanted to make an impact like that. Dick took a leave of absence from the GCPD to study martial arts with Lady Shiva, one of the world's best fighters. Dick emerged from his training as Nightwing.
Factoids of interest: (Special attributes - IE: Weapons, attire... anything needed to be known) Dick wears a special suit that is bullet-resistant and strong enough to protect against stabbing. For weapons, he mainly uses billy clubs and a grappling hook. Additionally, Dick carries around his own shurikens - inspired by the Dark Knight's. Dick's mask doubles as: A.) a halogen flashlight, B.) night-vision lenses, and C.) a radio transmitter/receiver.
Known associates: (NPC's needed to be attached to your character) None.
Three integral reasons behind choosing the character:
1. This city needs more heroes like Batman.
2. It's interesting to see a Nightwing that completely bypassed the Robin stage.
3. With The Joker as my main character, I feel I must pick up someone on the other side of the court.
Please provide a brief explaination behind your character's motivations (ex: What does he/she believe in? How does he/she connect with Gotham City? What grinds your character's gears?): Dick believes that Gotham can be saved - but it will need serious help. Dick has witnessed the effect Batman has, and he knows that strong-willed vigilantes can take down the mob bosses of Gotham - if they work together. Dick will not kill, but he doesn't hesitate to use any other force necessary to get the job done.

The months full of training flash before my eyes as I take my first step off the ledge. I always hear that your first fall is your hardest. Granted, that was always about sky-diving. But I believe the same holds true here. As I look down at the city street so far below me, I feel my heart sink into my stomach.
I'll never do this if I don't push myself. So, without thinking, I step right off the roof of the building. Suddenly, I realize that I could seriously die if I don't time this right. Pushing my fears aside, I revel in the feeling of the cold Gotham air rushing past my face. Feeling gutsy, I extend my arms and legs outward. I can feel the wind resistance slowing my fall.
This is it.
Moving quickly, I unhook my billy club from my belt. I point it at a nearby gargoyle. As I press a hidden button, a small grappling hook fires from the club. The high-tension wire wraps itself around the gargoyle's head for several times before the line goes taut. Once it does, I feel my entire body begin to swing in an arch.
I'm still alive!
When I reach the top of my first arch, I loosen the grappling wire ever-so-slightly. This allows the hook to retract as I perform a backflip several stories above the ground. Once my backflip is complete, I repeat the grappling process.
