The "World of Heroes" DC RPG Season V Signup/OOC Thread

Well, that's all ladies and gentlemen. I've finished my tenure as the Martian Manhunter and returned him to Mars. I will continue on as Deathstroke until his story is up, and then... well, we'll see about then.

All I ask is that the GMs place J'onn on a reserve list, or something to prevent him from being picked up by someone else until (at the very least) next season (unless this one is ending soon). I just don't want someone undoing what I've done with him right away.

Are you saying I went out and bought a series of comics, which I'd budgeted for a TPB and researched with, for a character I didn't want to write.
How far do you want to push me Dutch-Boy? :cmad:
Beyond initial reluctant enthusiasm, I certainly never got the idea you were busting at the seams to write this character, no.

...*sigh*

I do like the character, I'm upset with Harl's insinuations that I didn't, and the only reason I didn't put an application up for the character *I had it written out too* was because I was waiting for the arc to show evidence that it would happen.
Which is exactly why you didn't respond to a PM asking what's what, and why we had previously planned that you at least get one post up as that character. Instead of just waiting, you could've contacted me, and beyond our first few conversations, you didn't give me a hint of wishing to continue these plans.

I didn't mind, but I don't like the guilt trip.

. . .

o.O

Who said anything about guilting anyone else out? All I asked was if that Arc was or was not happening and you came back with the wild accusation that I disliked the character and I was reluctant.
I don't do anything reluctantly concerning character plays in the RPG's, and if I do it will go far beyond an unanswered PM. *Which I spoke to Johnny about and apologized*

As for not contacting you I have other characters I was working on and School, you and Johnny naturally lead the arcs, the arc was ya'lls idea and I was flattered to ask to be involved. I saw it as an invite into the arc, not as a planner in it. Also after a conversation with Johnny I got the impression ya'll would do a 'hint' to it and then I'd post after that, since I didn't want to have to NPC so much.

It's all splitting ends and I don't even know why it's an issue, all I was asking was if it would happen, and you insulted me by saying that I wasn't interested in my character.

Admittedly I could be blowing it out of purportion, but I've been ****ed with to much this week to take any **** from anyone else.

It seems then that we've had the trouble of a little misscommunication there, Twy. My apologies.

I am so proud of myself. The design I had most trouble with...I tried 2 times...failed miserably...I tackle it a third time today and BOOM...awesomeness. Here ya go, Watchman...hope you like the reference to Sale's Scarecrow (mainly the claws) since he draws the best Scarecrow around:

Quick somebody post their awards! (I would, but I'm still working on my choices.)

BEST STORYLINE
The Anti-Life Equation arc. Honestly, even though the stories in this RPG are basically what equates to fanfics, I think this story is easily one of my favorite Darkseid plots ever.

BEST HERO
Aquaman. I usually end up nominating this award for either Batman or Superman since a lot of arcs tend to revolve around their neck of the woods, thereby demanding a significant amount of attention for their characters, but damn if Aquaman's story hasn't been right up there with the most epic and herioc plots in any of the RPG's seasons.

BEST VILLAIN
Darkseid. Do we really have to say more? No offense to any of the other villains, but I definitely expect LT to sweep this category clean. Brilliant grasp of the character and a well thought out story to equal it.

BEST DEVELOPED CHARACTER
Aquaman again. Very close runner-ups would be MB's Superman and another Trusty character, Jason Todd.

BEST NEWCOMER
I can't decide between guitarsingerguy's Tempest and Big Barda's... uhh... Big Barda.

BEST FIGHT
Darkseid fight with all the heroes in front of the White House.

BEST POST
Have to get back to ya on that one...

Whoa, I'm blown away by your nominations, Spike_x1. I appreciate it. Last time I didn't do this thing...I told MB I would probably do it this time around...I'll get around to it.

BEST STORYLINE
Twylight's 'pseudo-afterlife' story arc for Dinah, which she calls 'Water' for some reason. (Ooh, mysterious..) It's plainly her best work and a very good read in and of itself, but I like the reinterpretations of the DC characters in this story.

BEST HERO
I was this close to nominating Aquaman, but Sinestro's redemption and heroic activities have really been impressive thus far, and it's clear that weig has a great handle on the character and what made him such an awesome Green Lantern in the first place.

BEST VILLAIN
The Joker. hands down. Keyser is a sick **** and he should be incarcerated for the safety of the rest of humanity. Banana Phone. You've gotta love this twisted SOB.

BEST DEVELOPED CHARACTER
Aquaman. It's not Best Hero, but when you take a character I dropped because I didn't like the direction he was taken in, and use that plot direction to turn him into one of the few characters I follow as closely as the ones I play, it's better. (Holy run-on sentences, Batman! :batman: )

BEST NEWCOMER
Twilight Knight's portrayal of Zauriel had done two things for me; one, it effectively ruined the arc I had planned for Deathstroke when he used the Spear of Longinus; and two, it gave me hope for the continued success of this game. Keep up the good work.

BEST FIGHT
I hate to toot my own horn, but I thoroughly enjoyed the three-on-one battle between Slade, Nightwing, Tempest and Arsenal. And, seriously, how ironically fitting is it that friggin' Aqualad beats Deathstroke the Terminator by siccing JAWS on him? (Disregard the fact that I literally had ZERO idea on how to fight and beat Garth.)

BEST POST

Bad. Ass.

Harold Wilkins was a sick man. His disease turned men into monsters.

His sickness had taken everything from him. It had taken his wife. It had taken his family. It had taken away his self-respect, any sense of belonging anywhere. It had taken away the trust of others, never to be bestowed again. It had taken six whole years of his freedom. It had taken...everything.

When he'd got out of prison, he'd tried to be good. He'd relocated to a new town, got himself a new job, tried to start a new life. But all that treatment, all the punishment bestowed onto him by others - and by himself - it wasn't enough. The sickness was too strong. It was terminal, in his bones. But at least he knew now, that this was wrong, that he was sick. The last time, he lied to himself, told himself there was nothing wrong with love. And they were so young, so innocent, so pure. He didn't want to hurt them, he...he just had so much love to give, and those little girls were just so...beautiful.

"You're so beautiful, Cindy."

Cindy Smothers, 8 years old. Her parents would probably have reported her missing by now. It wouldn't be long before they came here looking for her. They didn't have much time left together. She sat at the kitchen table, covered with piles of old newspaper. Harold watched her as he stood by the sink, thnking about how wrong this was, how sick he was.

"I...I'm, sick, Cindy."

No reply.

"Do you...do you think you can make the pain go away for me?"

Suddenly, the whole wall behind him blasted apart. Before Harold could even react, a blur hit him across the face. His nose was not so much broken as pulverised, as he collapsed to the floor, moaning in agony. Black Adam towered over him, his eyes burning with wrath.

"Six years. An animal, who would do the things you did...to a child! Six...years. America's crippled justice system may be willing to let you walk free again, but I..."

Black Adam spun round, spotting Cindy for the first time. This visit had been planned in advance, with one of his followers in Metropolis reporting back to him with this uncaged beast's new place of residence. He'd planned to send a message that no monstrous act was too small to escape his notice, to give out a punishment for sins past...but he hadn't been prepared for this.

"You're doing it...again? AGAIN!?"

"Aaaaah, I...I'm sorry...I..."

"Did you touch her?"

"I...I..."

"DID YOU TOUCH HER!?"

"I have love to give, I...I just don't know where to put it..."

Harold Wilkins burst into tears. Black Adam's lips curled in disgust at the pathetic, self-pitying display. But his expression softened as he turned towards the little girl. He approached the table, kneeling down in front of the chair.

"Are you a superhero?" the girl asked.

"Yes."

"Like Superman?"

"Yes, like Superman. What is your name, little one?"

"Cindy."

"That is a lovely name, Cindy. Now, Cindy, can you listen to me? Do not look at him, he cannot hurt you now. Look at me. I want you to come with me, right now. Okay?"

Cindy nodded. Black Adam took her by the hands, hoisting her feet up on top of his, and slowly hovered out of the hole in the wall, out of the crummy apartment complex and down onto the sidewalk below.

"Now, Cindy, I want you to wait here for me. Do you know any songs?"

"I know some Christina Aguilera songs..."

"Well, sing one of them for me. I will be listening, so do not stop, no matter what you hear? Okay?"

"Okay."

Black Adam smiled, patting the little girl on the head, then turned her around so she was facing outwards towards the street. As she started singing, Black Adam turned back to the apartment above, flying back upwards and into the hole. Cindy kept on singing, even when she heard some muffled screams of agony from upstairs. Even when she heard the horrible gurgling sound. She just blanked it out. Kept on singing.

And then, Black Adam was with her again. His smile was thinner now, despite his best efforts. He hoped she wouldn't see the specks of blood on his gloves.

"You sang very well, Cindy. Now, tell me where you live, Cindy. I will take you home."

"Can we fly?"

"Yes. We can fly..."

BEST POST
At first I nominated the first Superman post of this Season...but soon after I was second guessing myself...and then again...I think that means something. When Keyser Soze took over Black Adam I was thrilled from start to end (although I didn't want his run on him to end). That post where he tore apart that ex-con for kidnapping that girl Cindy has always stayed in my mind; I loved that post.

Copycat. :oldrazz:

Dude, I was talking to you while I was second guessing myself. You just simply helped me realize it was that important to me...:ninja:

If my friend Mike were here right now...he'd be going to me "B!tch got served." :(

Really? I was telling SF earlier also that it felt like this Season was only mid-way to me. It has only been...6 months so far since it started maybe?

It still seems weird to see you cuss. :o

I'm just frustrated, this entire week has been one trainwreck after another.:o

Remember back when we all got along in OOC? :(

We do, I'm just touchy and I shouldn't have lashed at Harl, it just felt like a personal attack and I've had my share of those during this week.:csad:

It seems then that we've had the trouble of a little misscommunication there, Twy. My apologies.

I'm sorry as well. :csad: It's just that I've seen you snarky and I've never wanted it aimed at me, so when it felt like it was I was ready to tear you apart. :csad:

I love you twy, even though I'm not always around... you're like a bootycall to me... CHEER UP!

Oh, btw, if anyone wants to pull a secret weapon outta there back pocket, remember, Flash is available... just an idea...
