Take your time, twy. Family comes first, and you're going to have to support them during this difficult time.

Is there anything essential I should read concerning Hawkman if I plan to take him up? I've grown interest in the character, and I'm curious if there are any recommended stuff I should check out for next season. Return of Hawkman is already a given though.

No one? I just want to know if there are any "essential" reading. Don't want to drain my money supply too much.

Has he been portrayed or used by anyone in this RPG yet? What's the status on him?

Course, this is more important. I need to know what has been done with him and such, if anything at all.

Also, since the JLA is having such hard time reforming...perhaps we can at least form the JSA. It was closer to being formed this season anyway it seems.

I don't think anyone's had Hawkman yet in the game. As for essential reading... can't help ya, pal. :csad:

As Spike said, I'm pretty sure no one has played him yet. As for essential reading, not a lot really. Just look him up on Wikipedia and remember that the core of his character, from what I've seen, is this: He is a creepy, love-stricken bastard. If he was in the real world, he would be standing on Hawkgirl's lawn with a boom box over his head blaring "In Your Eyes." :o

Yeah, that's the cartoon version. Comics Hawkman is a tinsy bit different. :o

Shut up and get back to drafting! Dwayne Bowe? What the hell are you smoking?

Bowe will be KC's starting WR this season, that's what I'm smoking. :cmad:

Besides...T.J. Duckett? Nick Goings? I hope you pray nightly that James and Deuce stay healthy. :o

I do pray nightly, well starting tonight.

DC RPG Season V Application

Screen Name: The Question

Character you would like to play: Ibac

Powers: Superhuman strength, endurance, and durability on par with SUperman, Captain Marvel, and Black Adam. Also, much like The Marvels, Black Adam, and Sabbac, he has patron spirits who grant him certain skills and intellectual traits. They are:

Ivan The Terrible: Terror (Ibac is a master of psychological warfare).
Borgia: Cunning (Ibac possesses a brilliant macheavellian mind).
Attila The Hun: Fierceness (Ibac is a fearless, ruthless combatant).
Calligula: Cruelty (Ibac is highly sadistic, and is well versed in torture).

Group your character is aligned with (if applicable): The Monster Society of Evil (defunct at the moment).

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:

1) He's a lesser known character, which gives me some room to experiment.

2) I think, conceptually, he's a very good villain, albiet slightly cliche.

3) He can beat up Captain Marvel. Which is cool. I guess.

Write two complete sentences using proper English grammar explaining what you plan to do with the character you've chosen (i.e. What are your goals? Will you be doing anything different with the character than is usually seen?): I plan to show a man who made one terrible choice that completely ruined his life. He's now got four monsters floating around in his head who'll burn the world to the ground if he says a certain word, and is reduced to a self loathing, prozac addicted loser.

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: As much as possible.

Color and font you plan on using for your characters speech (Might not be applicable but it makes the roster pretty):

Dark Red, bold Palatino Lynotype for Ivan The Terrible.

Dark Purple, italicised Georgia for the Lady Lucricia Borgia.

Bold, brown Franklin Gothic Medium for Atilla The Hun.

Purple Times New Roman for Calligula.

Black Verdana for Stanley Printwhistle.

Bold, Dark Grey, Size 4 Arial Black for IBAC.

Do you have an Instant Messenger?:

No.

How did you find out about this game, Recruitment thread/word of post/seeing the RPG OOC/IC thread?: What do you think?

Please provide a small sample post with original content in the style that you plan to write your character in (must be at least 3 paragraphs long and contain at least one line of dialogue):

Stanley Printwhistle sits alone in his apartment. Empty pill bottles lay strewn on the floor at his feet. He should get more, he thinks. But it doesn't matter. They don't work. They don't stop the voices in his head like the doctors said.

Stanley Printwhistle sits in his apartment. But he is no longer alone. A man, who was not there before, sits in a chair, which was not there before, opposite of him. He smiles a very pleasant, seemingly sincear smile. But it is his eyes that give him away. The eyes of a psychopath. Cold, selfish, and dark.

"Hello, Stanley."

"Hello, Caligula."

"You know, Stanley, a theater troup is preforming a favroite play of mine. Would you mind letting me run down town to catch a show real quick?"

"No."

"Oh, please?"

"You'll kill people."

"Well, I will probably decapitate the director it it's a particularly bad production. But, come now, the world could do with a few less bad directors."

"Go away."

Caligula stands. Stanley looks up at him, almost frightened. He's not a big man, but he has a stare that can cause a man's blood to turn cold.

"You should know by now that we're not going anywhere."

"You're dead."

"I'm well aware of that. I was there when it happened."

"You're time on Earth is over. You had your chance, you screwed it up, and now you're bones in the ground. Dead men don't get second chances."

"I respectfully disagree."

"I'm not saying it."

"Saying what?"

"**** you."

Caligula smiles, and he laughs. It's not a very pleasant laugh.

"Oh, Stanley. You can't keep this up forever, you know. You're going to crack one day. And the dead learn to cultivate enormous patience."

And Caligula is gone, as if he was never there.

He begins to cry.

And yes, I know how to post pictures.

The Joker's dead.

Some other things happened, I'm sure... but that's pretty big, to me. :o:(

Saw that. Thought it was fairly badass, too. I'm just wondering if there are any big arcs in the works. I have a few ideas for stories already, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes.
