But nothing and I mean NOTHING screams the BIG TIME like the JUSTICE LEAGUE. A team of the same heroes under a different name just doesn't have the same oomph factor.

I agree, hell even JLA Detroit was awesome. The fact that they were still the JLA has a bit to do with that.

I still think it doesn't have to be the JLA to be as effective. Besides, this is a reformation...heroes coming back together with the same goals for the good of mankind. It would make sense if they made a whole new team and name; a fresh start.

I think any team with the likes of Superman and one of the other big guns would have the same effect.

Point: BATMAN and the Outsiders. Does that have the same effect as the Justice League? Nope. Even the Legion with Superboy didn't have the same effect as the League.

I think all that matters is a team composed of heroes for this RPG. If it were the comics and there was no League? That's different. But, I thought--and still do--that it would be more interesting with a new witty name for a new team of heroes.

Well, Ollie won't be in the League. Scratch one off the list.

Perhaps I would have Aquaman be there, perhaps a reserve member and he would take part in some of the League arcs. I know what I want to do with him, and it should be doable to have him also in the League.

As far as my second character goes, I could see them on the team. I don't have too much planned for them really, so after I apply next season, I would be open to a lot of ideas/arcs if I do not think of anything for myself right away. Really I only have one thing planned at the moment, and it wouldn't be too long. So if accepted and all, I could see them in the League.

I don't think anyone has, and as far as I know, it isn't in this continuity. Multi-demensional and/or time travel arcs have always been sort of a touchy subject, here.

But isn't the point of this RPG to be an extension of the comics? That said, Ollie wants Roy on the team in his stead...

I got no issue with Roy. I just don't see why it has to be the JLA and cannot be a new team. I figure it would be more fun to make a new team with a new name and such. You know, see what our minds think of. And in the RPG "ingame" stuff, introduce a new team of heroes to the media and the world, perhaps creating shock and surprise that it's not the JLA.

See thats what I mean. You could still have all of the Big 7 and call it Asskicking Superteam and villains would still be more intimidated by the Justice League. Name power is HUGE for a superteam. Look at the Ultimates. They have everyone on the Avengers, but what name inspires more? The Avengers. So much so in fact that they named the movie Ultimate Avengers not The Ultimates.

I still disagree. I think the JLA name is overrated. I don't think it makes it anymore effective. Overtime, it would get its recognition and people would think "wow". That is how anything "small" gets big. I personally do not like the name JLA for the team. But that has nothing to do with my proposition. I just thought it would be fun to have a new team name.
