- WWE has announced that ring announcer Lilian Garcia was hospitalized overnight after being struck by a car yesterday in Los Angeles. She suffered lacerations and contusions on her left side, but she is expected to make a full recovery. As a precautionary measure, Garcia has reportedly been put in a neck brace.

So,I accidentally deleted Smackdown from my DVR,I take it I didn't miss much.

Ugh I say this as a huge Rock mark, but his whole half-return/title demand has really soured my views on him. If you wanna make movies, cool make movies, if you want to return, then cool return. But don't do halves, earn your title run again or at least turn up every week, don't play on nostalgia. It's especially bad when you've got the WWE in the state it's in with pretty much the 2 main guys busting their ass off for the company every day.

I'm sure the locker room will be ecstatic about Rock walking off with the Championship and doing PR while they continue touring with hopes of getting a two minute squash match on the grandest stage of them all.

Well, the entire concept of a finishing move defies logic, as does a lot of what goes on in the ring. I mean, a 280 pound bodybuilder dropping his leg and the weight of his entire body onto my neck would be pretty devastating, if you think about it.

But a 280 pound guy has just jumped and landed and on his ass, essentially. Given there's a natural curve in the leg anyway and he has a massive leg (bigger curve) I would suspect in "real life" that would hurt the person landing on their ass more than the recipient who if anything has just had a whiff of crotch in their face.

I always thought Christian's finisher was a bit lame. The Unprettier. It was never a smooth transition to get into the move in the first place and was always a bit painful watching the opponent assist by being completely limp during the move transition.

Yeah, but me as the victim of that move would be without the protection afforded to one via Hulkamania.

For its time, the Legdrop was a great finisher, since it followed a sequence (punches, big boot, legdrop). It was more than just the single move. Now, you have to do a shoot star backflip first. And people still kick out.

Seeing Show use a finisher as simple as the WMD makes me feel good. Gives me hope we might one day see the DDT as a finisher gain. I miss the simpler things like that.

I like the WMD. It's literally a 7-foot, 450 pound man punching you directly in the skull. I'd sooner sit in the Steiner Recliner than experience that for real.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the simple finishing moves (especially submissions) but I've always found the leg drop lame.
Go try it in the street. You won't walk for a week.
