yeah......but what good would Bryan winning the belt at EC be if he just loses it at the bigger PPV, WM?

Extreme Rules is in Seattle where he can win it back in his hometown state.

But which one would be more exciting Bryan goin IN to Seattle as WWE Champ off a big Mania win or coming OUT of Seattle as WWE Champ?

So far Daniel Bryan's winning the Elimination Chamber poll on WWE.com

Does this mean that the "casuals" are getting behind Bryan even more? Provided that the polls aren't rigged anyway

The chase of course. Look at CM Punk. More fans were excited seeing him go after the WWE Championship at Money In The Bank 2011 then keeping it at Extreme 2012. Funny enough, both PPVs were in Chicago.

Should they get Punk back, I say have him face Taker again (giving Undertaker yet another historical mark with a rematch every other Mania for six Manias) And, unlike Triple H and Shawn Michaels before him, have him win the match.

That can even be the major driving point, with it being called into question by Hunter himself as to whether Punk could do it. Especially when he and HBK couldn't do it, not even in 2 tries. And after WM, have Punk really go on a worked hiatus, stating he only came back to make a statement and do what not even Triple H or Shawn Michaels could do. And after a few months off, have him come back face Bryan for title (Bryan likey having it by then), and potentially initiating a new summer of punk. Though, with him possibly on the side of The Authority.

The benefits of this would be that it'd give Punk a major heel rub, considering that he wants to be heel again.

Also, it would allow for Sting/Taker next year to have the Streak out of the way, making it feel more legitimate and suspenseful as far as Sting's chances of winning go. And with The Streak having already ended, it can really be the last match for both men, with the storyline for the match could center around Taker proving that the streak didn't make the man, the man made the streak, and that Sting has what it takes to perform on the big stage.

It seems like this may be a moot point after all though, considering there are reports surfacing that say Extreme Rules is NOT in Seattle. It's a shame if that's the truth.

Punk can't go heel because at this point the crowd just doesn't accept it. There is also no way they're giving him the streak after what he just pulled.

^ If antything, cases like this are why WWE would probably be hesitant to end the streak, much as I think Punk was right to leave.

Former WWE Creative Team Member Speaks on Current CM Punk Daniel Bryan WWE Situations

On CM Punk

I know there’s been a certain amount of dissatisfaction from Punk backstage according to the rumor mill anyway. He seems like he’s always got some level of dissatisfaction but it never occurred to me that he would walk away. I’m 70 percent sure this is not a work, that he has really walked away. Which isn't to say he can’t be brought back but there is a chance that this some sort of high level story telling that they’re trying. Presuming it’s real i kind of understand it. His body’s all banged up, he’s looking at the same creative we are and probably feeling a very similar sense of dissatisfaction. I can understand walking away. It makes sense to me. It also makes sense to me though like i can articulate a story where in which this is a work and we get him together with Hunter and we can all sort of telescope that this is a work version of the story out and if that’s the case i just feel like this is the 2nd time we've gone to this well with this character so it doesn't make sense to me that you would tell that story again which is one of the reasons why i think the preponderance of the evidence is that he’s actually walked away and i can feel it cause just as a fan i’m going to walk away for a little while."

On Daniel Bryan:

"You look at the way Bryan’s been booked since Summer Slam. An argument you see a lot is that Daniel Bryan’s PPVs didn't increase numbers and neither did his RAW segments well you gave him ****** booking that involves belittling him every single week. This is something i went with Rey (Mysterio). We had Mark kill him and the Great Khali killing him. We were burying our champion every single week. Of course that’s going to turn people off when you don’t give them what they want. Telescoping forward, i have the feeling that this is all going to come to a head and that they will put the title on Bryan in a big of a way as they feel is right and Vince is going to start booking him like Rey. Here’s a guy whose job is to get his ass kicked, and slip over every now and then. I think it’s terrible storytelling, it’s not what the people want and when people ***** about Bryan’s ratings and say well that’s the reason they’re not going with him they gave him a shot already. I don’t think they gave him a legitimate shot. I think they gave him a story that undercut him at the knees from the moment he walked out of the curtain."

On the Royal Rumble match and not adding Bryan to it:

"WWE seems to want to fight against the crowd just doesn't make any sense to me. Why aren't you taking advantage of the lighting and that’s one of the things that frustrated me so much about the Rumble is i don’t think you can get that moment of triumphing over adversity in that way and there’s so many stories it opens up like did Kane help him get in? So many things you can do. Even if they change plans and give him (Bryan) a big WrestleMania moment i feel like the lightning in the bottle has been lost because now it’s all repairing **** they broke. It’s silly if they didn't have some idea of what would happen before the world title match started. If you get to the end of that world title match and you don’t call the audible to get Bryan into the match, hell even having Batista eliminating him and having them be the final 2 i think would have sent people home a lot happier. But that you don’t even call that audible just to me indicates the calcified my way or the highway thinking that makes wrestling not very fun."

QUOTE=Superark;27842187]I read that many in the WWE locker room are not unhappy Punk is gone. Pretty interesting, if not unsurprising given his personality.

I see it as some professional jealousy perhaps? Maybe being happy that a top spot opened up. Punks always been a defender of the lower guys on the roster, going to bat for Ryder, Kofi, Gallows, Bryan (before the #YesMovement), put over Truth a few times...

Id imagine itd be the Orton/Sheamus/Batista types who arent unhappy with his departure.[/QUOTE]

I've read that he can often rub people the wrong way and is often smug or pissy. This goes back to before he was ever the star he is now.

I'm sure Punk has his supporters and friends, but I'm also sure he has just as many people who do not like him.

I believe when you are as brash and outspoken as Punk you're going to be a love/hate type of guy.

The GM of the Super Bowl Champions wearing the WWE Title:

Bryan/Batista for title, Orton/Brock, and Taker vs ??.

People keep suggesting a Sheamus/Taker match but I can't see it. Too big of a step down from HBK/HHH/Punk. Promos and storyline would be dull, to me it would just screams WE LIKE SHEAMUS, LOOK HES A BIG DEAL, SEE!

And I say that as a fan of the guy.

I don't see Sheamus working as an opponent for Taker either, to me if they went this route Taker would have to do something with The Shield.

Orton vs Brock is an interesting match up. I dig that idea a lot.

 It's one of the matches I really hope they do before Brock leaves again, and right now I think it's viable for Mania.

I'd like to see a Taker/Shield match of some kind, especially since they put him off TV last time we saw him, but I worry it'd be too rushed. Let's say they have The Shield implode once they're done with the Wyatt's, I'd need to see the Shield members against each other before I push Roman against Taker, or else I'm afraid it'd look like "ok now that we got him away from the dead weight of Rollins and Ambrose, hes above his old buddies, let's shove Reigns down you're throats."

Now if we got Wyatt's vs Shield at Rumble, followed by Shield break up fued at EC, I could get behind Reigns vs Taker

wasn't it the Shield who "took out" Taker before he left?

maybe the angle could be that the Shield says that 1 man hasn't been able to end the streak, but 3 men together can do it.

My theory back awhile ago when the Sting rumors first popped up was to have Taker, Sting and maybe someone else partner up to face the Shield at WM, and maybe make that be their last straw to break them up, that way you have the post WM buzz to start them off on their post Shield careers if they're done entirely. It would also be a way to eventually lead up to a Sting vs Taker match next year.
