The WTF Moments Of Spider-Man 3

When an organism that "enhances aggression" takes over someone, I don't wanna see him dancing in the streets.

You dance-scene haters do understand that "aggression" does involve more than punching people in the face, right?

Connors even said quite clearly, "It amplifies its host's personal characteristics" followed by "Especially aggression."

Kirsten Dunst and 70% of James Franco's performance was the only good to great parts about this sloppy film.

Kirsten's storyline and performance seem to come from a different film all together. She felt real.

What? I agree with you about Franco. However, I thought the best performance was a 3-way tie between Franco, Grace, and Church. Regarding Dunst, it was hard to feel sorry for Mary-Jane at the VERY START of the film. Whether that was poor acting or a poorly written aspect I do not know. I don't think she even had enough to work with to even be considered for the best performance. And this may surprise you, but I'm not a Kirsten Dunst hater. I liked her in the first 2. But in this one, I just don't know.

Dunst had alot of moments to really shine, but never really capitalised. Grace on the other hand had very little scenes to flex his chops, but I think stole the show with what little he had

With all this talk about camp, I thought I'd spread my insight.

**Everyone mutters** "Oh great, lets hear what batman11 has to say. :oldrazz:

Anyways, hears what I think. With regards to the "camp" at the beginning of the film, I think that it was utilized well, and fit the whole idea of Peter being on top of the world, and everything is okay. For example, the scene with the kid saying "No Spider-Man." when he kissed Gwen was cute, and fit the early mood.

However, and this is a big however, it all shoulda stopped when teh symbiote took over Pete. When an organism that "enhances aggression" takes over someone, I don't wanna see him dancing in the streets. Yes, I understand what Raimi was trying to do, showing how Peter's attitude had drastically changed, but wasn't this movie supposed to be dark? I was expecting more scenes like when Pete was yelling at Ditcovich and his attitude while fighting the men in the club. I wanted to see an evil, dark Spidey, not an even quirkier Peter. But hey, thats just me, and I'm not saying the scene wasn't funny, its just that maybe have a similar scene in the beginning with Pete strutting around, showing how Spidey has gone to his head, and then when he gets the symbiote, have him become really menacing, thus creating even more reason for him to want to get rid of it.

Now having said that, it was one pretty weird, yet funny scene. Could've worked in a comedy flick IMO. :D

100% spot on. I also think the trailers were totally misleading in this respect. The trailers lead us to believe that this was a 100% bad-ass spidet, totally out of control and ruthless. However the dance sequence(yeah it was funny) and 90% of the Jazz Club just didn't make sense. I found it hard to believe that the Symbiote, which amplifies aggression(anger), would want to make Peter camp it up.

Exactly. If only we could have had a back-to-back 3 & 4. It would not of only drastically improved 3 but also give Venom, and Grace, their deserved time to shine. Because as someone already pointed out, Venom was lame and in my opinion beaten too easily. If he didn't have Sandman with him, I'd say Spidey would have had him in one go. And that's not Venom!!

Actually, it should NEVER be Ultimate Venom

thats not ultimate Venom..it's ultimate Spider-man in his black costume...
The point I was making was that black Spider-man shouldn't have been dancing he should have been taken over Peter into a real ****ing angry and violatile creature that he had to try and control........
plus, I liked the idea of Ultimate Venom.....A big ****ing huge monster......
guess as usual its not for everyone....

I'm pretty sure thats Venom, although I've always hated USM, so havn't read many. Why do we need another hulking monster, Venom is not supposed to be Hulk

No, it really isn't Venom..the comic's right in front of me...it is Spider-man.
It's not about anything being "Hulky", it's just he's an ampilfied insane uncontrolable creature...his size emphasises that...but as I said not everyone's down with that..so whatever...wasn't the point I was making anyway....

Venom's not supposed to be a mindless beast, even under the influence of the symbiote he still has the mind of Brock.

If that beast who looks awfully like Venom is Spiderman, have you got a picture of Venom

I didn't say he was mindless...look again..I said uncontrolable...I have a pic of venom too yes...but I'm not filling this thread with it...its a discussion about WTF moments in sm3....no biggie dude..

Yet you posted a redundant and frankly stupid picture of a mock up of Saturday Night Fever, but you wont post a relevant picture of Venom?

You've done a great job of proving your point

I was merely quoting and posting a pic that someone else had put up with the saturday night fever pic...you're getting quite confused and angry now...an ultimate spider-man pic of venom isn't relevent to the point i was trying to make before you got a little stressed out, or to the thread. The point is, I would have enjoyed watching Spider-man in his black costume getting more darker and venom-like in the film, Spider-man 3, not dancing and pointing and girls walking down the street...I didn't see the relevance, to it amplifying aggression etc at those points....I hope that points it as plainly and as simple as possible for you...on with the WTF moments discussion!!!:woot:

Actually you've simply said the same thing as people have been saying on this thread since last week, you've added nothing to the discussion. Evidently you missed the point of the symbiote in the film, your just missing all the marks today arn't you. :cwink:

Yes, I do understand that. But "aggressively hitting on women in the streets"? :oldrazz:

Look I never said I was a dance hater, as a matter of fact, I said and still think it was funny, its just that I feel the movie could've worked better by showing Pete's PHYSICAL aggression, as shown in the pictures he took. Don't get me wrong, I still liked the scene, just didn't like where it was placed (timeline wise).

As a under 100 post newbie you have yet to of earned the right to quote my signature or such golden lyrics  :oldrazz:

100% agree with that.....it was funny as....just like the rain drops keep falling on my head bit in SM2....just strangely placed in the film....

One wtf moment I noticed is that apparently bullies exist in college.
