Days of Future Past The X-men UNIFORM evolution on the sequel

moved the topic to first page, to keep discussing about the x-men costume both for past and present timelines on this topic since now.

;)

we were discussing this on the Bryan Singer topic:

problem with alot of x men outfits is they are way too colorful to be adapted to screen without looking goofy alot of x men where some sort of bright yellow, green, and red

but i could see it working if they use spandex like material of Prometheus suits tho

Storm is the best because she has a cape. without it, it would be the same as Rogue.

And I can easily see badass costumes with colour. The key as I said is to use different materials on the same costume, as that Prometheus outfit.

I wouldnt like spandex at all for the x-men, but a material like the First class costume would be better, I think.

Ive started working on updated costumes for Original trilogy x-men, so hopefully I can share the first manip in a week or so.

it is all down to the material it seems the mesh material is the new in thing with superman, spiderman, prometheus

it just looks better just plain attire looks bland and boring these days

but not all the actors have the perfect body to use that spandex type material.

that's why I think FC material works better

i agree i think thats why fassbender couldn't wear a good magneto costume dude is pretty thin lol

Well, McKellen managed to look good as Magneto and he's hardly Jackman-esque either. Sir Ian wore a 'muscle suit' under his Magneto garb to give him a bit more bulk, so Fassbender could do the same if it proved an issue.

I think the only mutants that should look bulky are Wolverine, Colossus and Cyclops.

The rest are more normal looking. Not every x-man has to have the perfect body, specially mutants like Bobby.

well mckellan is a bad ass t shirt says it all

I've heard there are a bunch of photos like this with various people but that they are really just photoshopped/fake. There was one with Harrison Ford "I'm Han Solo and Indiana Jones, Get over it" as well.

what about Letterman style jackets, like in, new x-men...

I'm pretty sure that's an anti-homophobia ad, so it's probably real.

look cool... but maybe too much yellow for movie translation.

would be nice for one scene or two, in any case, but I dont see it as the costume for the whole movie

I don't think those are meant to be Letterman jackets. I think they are more akin to puffy jackets. And based on how Frank Quitely rendered the jackets I would have to say No. I'm not a fan of the look at all.

New X-Men is one of my favourite title, but I don't think the costumes will work well in reality, especially Emma Frost's camel toe diaper lol..

well I wasn't suggesting those exact jackets (just using them as an example)

its cool to post some images, so not a big deal.

thanks for posting

that could be the costumes of the late 80's or something, not neccesarily the original costume from the 60's.

one would guess that the x-men have had plenty of costumes during all these decades.

I'm not expecting drastic changes for the costumes since this is not a new start of a new film series.

I think the X-Men from the future will have the black leather costumes and the 60s X-Men (or the X-men from the past) will still have the yellow and blue costumes. But they should be updated.

Do you think the X-Men of the future would be in costumes. Wouldn't they be in street clothes/prison uniforms?
