Days of Future Past The X-men UNIFORM evolution on the sequel

yeah, Ive wondered that too.

in any case, I could see them with costumes but kind of hidden a bit, with a long coat, or some pieces here and there of street clothes.

I would love to see, just once, a classic comics costume look for one of the future X-men. The more I watch the X-films, the more I dislike the black leather suits.

Yeah, I can see that after the disaster future is in full swing.

if we go to the comics for example, Rogue has her now classic brown jacket, and in the movies, X2 showed Scott with a long black coat. And Gambit had another one on Origins.

So stuff like this could fit perfectly on Days of future.

Do you think the X-Men of the future would be in costumes. Wouldn't they be in street clothes/prison uniforms?
maybe, once the timeline is restored, we'll get a glimpse at the end of the original timeline future, and see them in their uniforms

that could be the costumes of the late 80's or something, not neccesarily the original costume from the 60's.

one would guess that the x-men have had plenty of costumes during all these decades.

Yeah, that's what I was saying.

I think the ones who are traveling to the past should have a uniform or at least their clothes should have some similarity. Street clothes wouldn't be the right look for time travelers because they would just look very normal. And as for prison uniforms, it should be worn by the mutants that are still in prison and not the ones who already escaped.

Id love to see a scene with a large line of prisoners with prision clothes, as seen in the tv series and the comic arc.

it would be a powerfull scene. We already saw Bryan intro in X1, so imagine something similar to that scene but with mutants

:o

maybe they'll time travel la terminator style, an show up in the past naked :wow: LOL

that would be really cool, lol. Specially being an x-men movie. something totally unexpected from general audience or fans, I think.

well, we saw Bruce Banner "naked" in Avengers, so its not a big deal, I know, but.... would be cool :woot:

In the original DOFP wasn't Kitty Pryde telepathically sent through time and took over the body of her younger self, ala Quantum Leap?

In the comic books, yes. In the animated series, it was different.

But we don't know what elements the film is using, adapting or changing.

^ I don't think she'll be able to do that if they go back to the 60's...

we did see Wolverine running around naked, in origins

depends what female character(s) go back, too, on how shocking it would be

Yep, but it doesn't necessarily means it has to be that way in the movie. It's an adaptation, not a page by page movie version.

does that really count, she was pretty much naked the whole movie, just painted blue, there's not really anything in that shot that we haven't already seem of her... if anything she's more covered up there then any other scene

Plain and simple, We need a cross between the First Class suit and the suits from the main series.

In other words, what Beast had in X3

It has that classic yet updated look.

Dont feel this design at all, but I like how that costume combines black leather and colour. So its definetly the right direction to go.

Add more colour to the other uniforms/characters, and it would be pretty perfect.

This. That design itself isn't perfect, but it has the right idea for what to do.

Definetly.

and that costume made its job. It showed that there was a previous version of the costumes, so after First Class too, its great to know that the x-men have had many different costumes during all these decades, like the comics.

Would be really cool and smart to have a new version on the future scenes too.

More colours and a more current/modern design, to please fans and give Fox and Marvel the option to sell new figures and all of that.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but I loved the leather uniforms. They felt functional and unifying. In my opinion, they never looked better standing together as a team then they did at the end of X2.

But I'm also interested to see what Brian has planned considering his recent tweet.

Like some of you have already mentioned, there's definetly a new material and texture that studios and designers are starting to use for movie costumes, as we can see:

personally, I wouldnt mind if Singer and her designer tried costumes for original actors with this texture but giving them more volume and a second texture, like on First Class.

They could easily give us comic inspired costumes for characters like Rogue, Cyclops, Colossus or even Wolverine.

Although I've come to appreciate the leather costumes more than I did when they were first shown, I'm glad they're gone. Fingers crossed we can get costumes that look like recognisable (but still plausible) adaptations of costumes from the comics. Preferably something with more colour too, which I expect isn't asking too much considering the direction they went with First Class.
