Homecoming The Zendaya is possibly someone, maybe thread - Part 3

If [BLACKOUT]Zendaya is really playing Vulture's daughter, I just hope I end up liking it. I'm a lot more lenient on an OC having a role like that then taking an established character like Felicia Hardy and suddenly wanting to make her "The Vultress".[/BLACKOUT] :barf:

agreed.

How about they split the difference?

[BLACKOUT]Michelle eventually does become "the Vultress" ( seriously,
get a better name ), but as a hero and sidekick/ally for Spider-man? Vaguely similar role to Black Cat, but with a completely different image and powerset that doesn't scream "Catwoman clone" quite so much.[/BLACKOUT]

Michelle should be Peter's date to the homecoming dance.

that's starting to sound more like [BLACKOUT]Raptor (Brenda Drago) [/BLACKOUT]

Apparently [BLACKOUT]Vulture's daughter[/BLACKOUT] thing has been debunked. According to what I read, in the novelization [BLACKOUT]Michelle's last name isn't even mentioned.[/BLACKOUT] Maybe this is how it'll be in the movie too.

One thing I've always wanted to know was, in that scrapped Spider-Man 4 movie where Anne Hathaway was supposedly going to play the Vulturess, was she going to shave her head?

Maybe Michelle will shave her head at the end of the movie. From ugly duckling to bald eagle. :o

Except we're already seen him together with Liz at the dance.
I think (but really hope I'm wrong) that it'll be more of a he shows up with Liz but then see's Michelle with her make over (all dressed up for the dance) and end up with her

I say I don't like this idea only because it comes across very superficial on Peter's part

if he ends up with Michelle (who's been described as kinda the "weird girl") it should be because he embraces what's different/weird and cool about her... not because she all of sudden looks good (like when Claire gave Allison the make up at the end of breakfast club/or in, she's all that)

agreed.

that's why the whole ugly duckling to hot girl angle is so stupid and actually sends the wrong message to both girls and boys.

is this Zendaya??

if it is, this is how MJ should look and act, race and hair color aside.

these gifs perfectly capture the sassy alpha female model vibe that MJ is supposed to have.

if we were getting this with Zendaya's character, then there'd be less complaints. All you'd have to do is give her red streaks in her hair at least, or make her hair color more copper/auburn instead of full red, and then you'd pretty much have MJ.

but we are not. Michelle is like on the total opposite side of the spectrum of this. even if she were to make a transformation at the end, that's such an extreme, drastic change in looks and personality it wouldn't even feel genuine.

people can change, but usually not by that much.

with that being said, I do give props to Zendaya ( and the makeup/wardrobe people ) for playing a character so totally different.

but that still doesn't make her right for the role of MJ.

those gifs above are MJ. Michelle is not.

Well keep in mind that novelization are usually based off the earlier draft, so who knows somethings may have been changed since then.

Peter, wearing a Letterman cardigan to the Homecoming dance, will decide at the end that he's actually more into geeky girls. Then up rocks Michelle, having undergone a transformation into MJ, clad in black leather and a perm. Peter will be speechless as he watches her put out a cigarette with her tongue and then says to him "Tell me about it... stud Tiger!" :o

Whoever she is i do think she will become a love interest of peter in this film or else the sequels. Why else hire such a well known actress? put her in the movie posters and have her do all the pres junkets if she is just the weird friend of peter and ned.
Also was watching an interview with her about tom hollnd and she said they firdt met at a screen test. Dont they only do screen tests for romantic parts? do they screen test supporting characters and friends? I didnt think they did. My guess is they most of the movie he is cruhing on liz allen and then realises she only really likes spiderman and his connection to him and not the real him or something stupid like that and michelle likes him for peter.
Also i think liz is a senior and he is a junior, not sure how much of an age gap that would mean but cant imagine a 17/18 yr old would date 15? I dunno about high school ages

They usually have actors screen test together to test their chemistry, yea.

yes, I was kinda thinking that too, that the best way to have him switch to a different girl, without Peter looking bad... would be to have Liz be the the superficial one, but, wasn't sure how that would play out (cause I don't want her to be betrayed badly, either)

most 15 year olds are either freshman or sophomores unless he skips a grade, i dont think hes a junior.

idk about that. she was said not to be a love interest from the moment she was cast. and she's the most famous of the kids on the cast. makes sense to get her to do the promo.

that's prob just for this movie. It also said she'd have a bigger role in the sequels

17/18 year old boy might date 15 year old girl, but it's more rare the other way around. Because girls tend to mature faster than boys.

Brilliant. :woot:
