The Zombie RPG - IC Season Thread

"Good to meet you," I say with a quick nod, my P90 at the ready in case more monsters show up. "Captain John Pierce." I indicate the two in the jeep. "Coporal Jones and Private Nguyen."

"We've got a truckload of weapons and explosives. If we're holing up here, got anyplace where we can secure them?"
"CAPTAIN? Are you a military man, Captain Pierce?"

"You wouldn't happen to know... How all this happened?"

"Not a clue. I was stuck in the lab when they breached the fence. The quarantine protocol locked me in. I had to jury-rig some nitroglycerin just to get out, and blow a couple dozen zombies to hell."

I turn to Nguyen and Jones, realizing we never talked about what happened. "What about you two? Was there any kind of warning?"

Jones speaks up first. "We were just on guard duty at the armory when the alarm went off."

"It's a good thing too," Nguyen fills in, "or we would have been out there , cut off like...like everyone else."

"The base commander told us to hold position while base security dealt with a breech. There was gunfire and explosions. They overran us in less than an hour."

I shake my head at the story. "You're the first living people we've seen...other than those we couldn't save."

"My Uncle's in the Army. He's a First Lieutenant. My dad and I got word from him that something was wrong over at the base. I... I haven't heard from my uncle since..."

And with that line, my hopes are crushed. I thought that maybe this was an isolated incident. That maybe we'd be able to find another base somewhere to work out of and contain the situation. But if other bases are facing the same fate. If this is everywhere...

I try to keep up appearances. "We've all been cutoff. Who knows what's going on out in the world. That's what we were going to do before we saw you. Hit the grocery store to get some supplies and head over to Racoon City's base."

"Well, there's lots of supplies at my place. Plus I've got weapons and ammo, and a few vehicles we can use. After that, I say we head to the mall and see if we can find more surrvivors."

I turn to Sam. "Whats with you and the all?? Raccon City does sound like a good idea though. I know some people over there that could help if we could get in contact with them. So I'm going to head for computer lab. And I'll check the cafeteria for food. Anyone coming with me??"

"Count me in. An army marches on its stomach." I empty out a rucksack and sling it over my shoulder. "Nguyen, Jones, stay here and guard the weapons. And load some of the pistols and P90's in the van. And grab an MRE for yourselves. Keep your energy up. Doctor's orders. Hopefully we'll find some better food to bring back. If anything comes, get on the radio and we'll come running."

I turn to our new friends. "Lead the way."

"Alright."

We go into the gym and look around there doesn't seem to be any zombies. We climb up a flight of stairs to the second floor. We keep walking I keep my guard up. We make it to a double door.

"Alright this hallway leads to the library. And under that is the cafeteria."

"Dude. You're my best friend. I wouldn't go anywhere without you."

I place a hand on his shoulder.

"Sounds good."

I lift up my pizza peel and spin it.

"Who wants to go in first?"

Kincaid chambers rounds into his sawed-off shotgun and says, "Coming here was my idea."

He opens the door slowly and approaches very slowly. Turning each way he says, "Looks good so far let's go."

I walk into the room. It's quiet. Too quiet. There was a loud banging noise coming from a room nearby. I walk over to it and grasp the doornob firmly. I look over at Spenser.

"If it's a zombie, you know what to do."

Kincaid raises his gun about average height and nods once at Sam.

I swing open the door and a young woman with long, dark hair and glasses rans out screaming as three zombies follow.

Without heistation Kincaid fires at the Zombies once the girl is cleared. After firing both rounds into 2 of the zombies he draws out his 45 automag and blasts the others.

He looks at Sam and says, "Get her now! We need to get her calmed down. The yelling is too much at one time. The noise will draw more zombies here."

I grab her and slap her across the face, shutting her up but good. She stares at me an pushes the glasses up to her nose.

"Who... Who ARE you people?"

"I'm Sam Matthews. The guy shooting the zombies is Spenser."

"Shouldn't you help?"

"Well, I would... But they'd just try to bite me."

"I-I meant your friend, not the zombies."

I wink at her.

"I know, sweetheart. It was a joke."

She hugs me tightly and begins sobbing.

"Oh, thank you!! Thank you so much!!"

Everything happens so fast. By the time I get my P90 up, Spencer already has the three zombies down. The guy moves like he's done this sort of thing for years. I just feel out of place holding a gun, and I'm the one in the military.

"Miss." She continues to sob. "Miss, I'm a doctor. Are you all right? Did they bite you? Are you hurt?"

I move closer, trying to look her over, but she just clings on tighter to Sam. I look at Sam, but he just shrugs. I try a different tactic. "Miss, what's your name?"

She looks up at me nervously and I nod and smile. She looks back at Pierce.

"It's... A-Amanda... Amanda Keeler."

"It's okay, Amanda. We're not gonna let anything happen to you. This man's an Airforce Captain and he's a real nice guy. Your safe know."

I can feel her relax a little bit in my arms, but she still clings tightly.

I look back at Pierce.

"Let's give her a little while to relax. I'm sure she's scared out of her mind."

I look back down at her and realize that her eyes are now closed.

"I think she's sleeping or something. Isn't that cute?"

"This situation is anything but 'cute'." I say more sharply than I intended. "Sorry. Bad day."

"Someone said something about getting on the internet?"
I say, trying to change the conversation.

I say, trying to change the conversation.

I'm stunned by the whole situation. It all happened so fast. I look at the girl. She seems to be a little younger than me. Probably a junior. I look to Pierce.

"We were going to use the internet to get into contact with the outside."

I walk into the computer lab with my bat ready to hit whatever is dead. I walk around the area and make sure there aren't any zombies. I run over to the computer get on the internet and begin typing.

Francoise moves into the garage, slowly, but surely, trembling slightly from fear. This was the first glimpse she got to see as the sun was starting to finally descend more, and it was a little darker now, which of course, made the garage dark and really hard to see. Swallowing hard, she felt around the wall next to her, until she felt a box with a stick, and flicked it, pushing the lights to life, and she glad she did. No more than eight feet in front of her was one of those damned stumblers. It was moving slow, so she assumed it was one of them, and she pulled up her gun, and took a few seconds to aim it. She was shaking pretty well, but she squeezed the trigger, setting off the loud bang, and watched as the back of the zombie's head exploded. She let out a sigh, as she started to lower her arms, when a shuffling next to her decided to lunge out. Pulling back before it got there, she watched the stumbler hit the ground, and she literally shrieked, pulling the gun out and firing without a second thought, then another to make sure it was dead.

Beginning with sharp shallow breaths, and a trembling body, Claire reached down slowly, and felt around the dead officer, pulling out his keys. A smile crept upon her face as she looked up, only to frown again. There were cars here, plenty of them, actually, way more than she had time to try out. Claire looked at the keys, which thankfully had the car number on them, and she spotted a Dodge Charger rather quickly, and smiled. She was something of a speed demon, after all.

Slowly making her way through the cars, looking around carefully, she unlocked the door, and got in, locking it again, and waited for Jonathan, who followed shortly. Claire started up the car, with a satisfying roar (though not as satisfying as her normal transport), and kicked it into drive, mumbling about an automatic transmission.

"To hell with that..." was all she had for the arm that held the cars in the garage, and she hit the accelerator, going through it, and then pulled on to the street.

Claire flicked on the headlights, which she originally didn't want to do, and began to throttle quickly forward, catching a street sign, and turning accordingly. There were plenty of them now, much more than before, and a few survivors running from them, most of them getting trapped. She wanted to hurl at the sight of this, but kept her constitution, focuse more on surviving.

"Well... next stop...home?" she lamely made a joke.

Jonathan looks over at claire and thinks well at least if she wrecks shes likely to kill us before the zombies eat us. So he just leans back in his seat and reclines as far back as he can before hitting the cage, and pulls his cap down over his eyes. Wake me when we get there or if we get jumped.

He stretches out and goes to sleep and has an odd dream, in it he is walking down a long hallway with doors on both sides and it is like a hospital with the bright lights. He looks in the doors and can see through the windows inside, but its dark he can see inside and all he see's is darkness.

Except for the really bright light coming from the end of the hallway. He keeps walking and at the end he opens the big door and he see's a stretcher with the shape of a body covered by a white sheet on it.

He sees the body and it takes him back to when his younger brother was killed by the drunk driver, brings back all those old memories, it was this situation that caused him to become a cop, his father passing drove him to be a dispatcher and his brother being killed is what drove him to actually step over the line into being an officer.

He walks up and pulls the sheet back and see's his brothers face his eyes are closed but then they open and he sees his brother sit up and try and get off the bed, but his legs were shattered and it was the internal injuries that caused his death, so when he tries to get up his legs give way and he falls and he starts crawling across the floor towards Jonathan who is backing up.

Kincaid stands over Jacob and begins looking around, and says "Typing in the following on the school's web-site username: spenser password:..."

He hesitates for a moment realizing if he says it that they will begin to suspect there is more to him than they realize, but that can't be helped anymore.

Kincaid says, "Kincaid2004 From there go to any news website CNN, FOX, MSN try any of them if they haven't been updated since yesterday then this is a world-wide problem and we may be in more trouble than we know."
