No Way Home "There's No Place Like Home" - Andrew Garfield Returns As Webbverse Spider-Man

Funny, most of my mates prefer either Holland or Maguire but after watching this they said that Garfield shone the most here.

As one of those freaks who thinks Garfield is best I feel like my faith has been vindicated lol.

I feel like when you actually see them side by side it helps making the comparisons better because now they're on an equal playing field or in this case same movie. Sure each is playing their Spider-Man but now people can pay attention to the details of their performance versus getting bogged down by either the pluses or minuses of their individual movies.

Either or, Spider-Man fans have been lucky in that every actor has at least been good. Even Batman and Joker, who have had some great actors had a dud actor or two.

Some people are only noticing things i noticed years ago. And i really like TASM.

Same here.

People keep saying that this movie showed something new for Andrew. It didn’t. He just showed more of who he was. I think people are just stuck in the infatuation phase for this movie. Andrew is the same dude here for the most part that he was in his movies.

Glad that more people are finally coming around
but you guys are late to the party lol. Andrew is a natural and could play this role in his sleep.

In fairness it's hard to just focus on the portrayal if folks don't like a movie or there are departures that the script takes. Just glad Garfield is getting recognized for how good (imo perfect) he is in the role.

I'm just hoping its true that Garfield told Marvel he's willing to come back because I want him to portray Spidey again and I want him protected by Feige.

On a random note: this Spider-Man Blue inspired fan art poster for ASM3 got me stoked.

Dude… stop doing this to me.

Don’t get my hopes up like this. My heart can’t take it…..:csad:
MyTimeToShineHello's been another leakerific leaker with a pretty solid track record, they're just going off today with the details.

Out of Tobey and Andrew, Andrew is the one most likely to be willing to suit up again and again for full on meat-and-potatoes Spidey action. I mean, he's the one with story most left to tell and probably only just got his best showing in the role just now.

I think Andrew in this movie really felt like an adult Spidey from the early 2000s comics. I just don't know where and how he could be best served further in the role, like the last thing I want is for him to come back and just appear in crappy Sony movies again. Like, if he's happy with that- sure, but he certainly was torn up with having to have worked with crappy scripts before. It has to be a carefully considered thing and hopefully with more input from Feige if they do more with his Spidey.

Remember back in the day with the Sony leaks we saw they were considering doing Ultimate Gwen Carnage down the line to bring back Emma Stone (that was before Spider-Gwen debuted), and as gloriously bonkers and stupid as it could've been, we can't go down that kind of path with him again lol.

I see nothing but praise for Andrew literally everywhere

Bring the man back!

You Garfield fans might be eating’ good over the next couple of years.

Because I want this to be real, I'm not going to hold my breath. Taking Zendaya's advice of expecting disappointment so I can not be disappointed. :D

However if these guys are spouting truth and it's to lead into Secret Wars then I almost feel they have to get Emma onboard as Spider-Gwen and have her cross paths with Garfield's Spidey.

But again don't want to get any hopes up.

I would to see that 1st encounter between Andrew and Spider Gwen, the emotion and joy of seeing his love alive but torn because it's not his Gwen and have different memories.

If Tobey is not open to suiting up they can bring in May Parker. There are different ways they can expand upon those characters and universes if done right.

Getting Emma Stone back for a Spider-Man movie (even as Spider Gwen) will probably be harder than expected, probably more difficult than Tobey for a Raimi SM-4. She's definitely going to ask to read the shooting script and meet with the director(s) before she decides on ANYTHING.

I would be DELIGHTED if she came back to play Spider Gwen. But the script will have to be so good that she couldn't turn it down.

They don’t need to go crazy with characters. I love Emma so much. She was the best female lead and quite frankly it wasn’t even close. The last thing they need is to keep on over saturating their films with so many characters. It’s been one of the main problem with Toms films.

The play is a Andrew/Hardy movie. You can set it in that Sony verse so it can be a bit darker and let those two carry the film. The best part is that the symbiote is already established and so is Venom….so you can kind of hit the ground running. Do the classic typical story. They go at it the entire movie before finding some reason to team up at the end. Worry less about the scope of the movie and focus more on just those two actors to create a more personal grounded story which is desperately missing in the spider verse at the moment.

I still think it will just be the Spideverse sequels and maybe an appearance in Secret Wars. That would qualify as multiple projects. I don't think it is going to be much beyond that

If WB can do cinematic universe DC movies and non-cinematic universe DC movies using the same characters, I don't see why Sony can't do MCU Spiderman while also making movies exploring their older Spider men in their respective worlds.

Of course they can.

If they can pump money into a freaking Morbius movie, surely another Spidey is not off the table.

Just put him in Venom 3. The movie would smash and they lowkey set it up in NWH.

Yea I don’t get why you would do that at the end of NWH in the post credits if you didn’t have some type of set up in mind for Future Spider-Man projects

I forgot how much I love Andrew Garfield. He really did well in this movie. His emotions and Tobey's played so well with Holland's it was hard not to tear up every time they were together. Like old friends, but friends that lead very different lives and would never see each other again.

It really reinforced the tragedy of all of the Peter Parkers' lives. Loss and grief and sacrifice.

You can just tell how much Andrew loved being back in the role. He shined in all of his scenes! The 3 of them really were bouncing off of each other. Such great chemistry!

I’ve come to the realization that you guys are trying to give me a heart attack with all this “Andrew is returning news.” :argh::argh::argh:
