They are changing the costumes!!!!!!!

If they are changing the costumes in any way then I'm sure that The Thing will have a costume similar in design (the full body suit thing) so that Chiklis won't overheat as much. They'll have a lighter material underneath the clothing part of the suit itself and he'll be able to move much better. That's my prediction anyway. Besides that, maybe they get belts or something...That's about it. The suits are fine the way they are.

As for Doom's look the first one, it was make-shift. He slapped it together last minute. No-one could have possibly expected him to be in full armor and cape by the end of the movie. A trophie mask and a green, hooded trenchcoat thrown over the suit he was already wearing make sense...This was an origin movie for all five of them...I'm sure Doom will have an empire and armor in the next one. His last costume was burned off for christ's sake...I want to see their explaination for how he comes back though. Melted steel...kind of difficult.

And Reed with abs makes perfect sense. So would a taller Reed. He can DO that. And I don't think the self modification stops there either.

Shocking. Simply shocking. While I am not offended by this photograph, I believe it is inappropriate for this Forum. My five-year old cat often sits with me as I view this Forum, and while it would not be the end of the world if he saw it, I dread having to explain to him what on earth the harlot so depicted was trying to communicate with her body language.

Omigod...he's coming into the room now!

MODERATOR, HELP ME! PLEASE REMOVE THIS IMAGE!!! TOO LATE!!

(young cat's head explodes from viewing the image)

I lol'd.

Do you have it in wallpaper size? That pic looks so real it's lifelike.
Prrroobably because it is. It's a nude model with Sue's F4 costume photoshoped onto her.

I'm just dissapointed it's so small. :(

I'm just saying thats something that shouldn't be brought on here even if the character looked like that once or another. People are not gonna respect the character and only think shes the team ho or something.

I agree that it's very disrespectful of the character, but I still don't like having that picture pop up in front of me when I click on the thread. I found a rather...interesting photo of Ioan, but there's no way I would post it on here since I'm sure the straight men on the site probably wouldn't appreciate it.

yeah and also it gives the Actress playing her a bad name as well people expecting to see her in something like that eve know its a family based thing.

One thing that I'd like to see which I didn't see brought up was the big 4s in the middle of the chest as opposed to the corner. That's the look they've used most often anyway. The corner thing was like...once...Same with Daredevil actually. If there was a sequel I'd like to see the Ds in the middle on him too.

Keep the pictures in here decent please.

Hmmm... it's not like there was anything actually naked about the character... I've seen far more revealing photos of actual, real celebrities (as opposed to a painted image) elsewhere on SHH. God knows there are tons of threads dedicated to the purported hotness of whoever-you-like. Entire threads dedicated to Lois-related cheesecake over in the Superman forum, for example.

Well, for those who don't want to see that costume on a lifelike being, but also for those who want to know what the heck we've been discussing... here's the costume in question on an unrecognizable mannequin-type figure!

The cry-baby fanboys who can't understand that SHH isn't the place for their little soft porn creations are pathetic.
There's a BIG difference between a picture of Sue as Malice from the comics and some fan-Photoshopped creation depicting Sue lewdly spread out and giving a come-hither look.

The owners of this site have every right to determine what is and isn't appropriate here, and the rules regarding this kind of crap have been in place for years.

Those that think they should not have to follow those rules really should go elsewhere. It's a big internet.

That's a nice attempt at personally insulting me in spite of the fact that I've acted completely reasonable and done nothing to attack anyone here, but it doesn't address the fact that these rules AREN'T consistent across the boards.

If people can post photos like this on the boards with no repercussions, I think we may have an issue.

Actually, Bishop, I wasn't referring to you, even indirectly. The inappropriateness of the pic in question was pointed out to you and you responded reasonably. I had a few other posters in mind.
Unfortunately this is not a new topic, and the last dust-up over a slinky made-up Sue pic helped one of our best long-time members decide to take her leave of these boards for good.

As for the Teri Hatcher pic you linked to, I have no real problem with it. Hatcher posed for it, it's something you might see in Us or Rolling Stone. (My guess is Maxim, though.)
But while she may be wearing a slinky nightie, she's not spread out with the come-hither look. The last Sue pic in question was a Photoshopped soft porn pic. That's the difference, to me anyway.

Thanks for the sweet Hatcher pic, by the way. I saved it to my files. ;)

Seriously, anyone who thinks I'm a prude is soooo barkin' up the wrong tree.

Well I'm pleased that you weren't meaning to go after me directly at least.

Haha - Anyone who thinks I'm a prude is soooo barkin' up the wrong tree.

I really don't get that. Hatcher is wearing far less clothing and showing far more skin than the artwork in question was. She's even squeezing her boobs together there. It's far more suggestive in general - does sitting in a "splayed" position or tossing one's hair back automatically make something more sexual? I submit to you that it does not, IMO.

Teri's not squeezing anything together in that picture as far as I can tell. That's just her natural cleavage.
But really, do you find that pic more suggestive than a woman lying down submissively with her legs spread apart and her head cast back?
Imagine if the figures in each pic were actually nude and I think you'll see what I mean.

A lot of this is a gray area to be sure, and not everyone's going to agree on what is "naughty." I guess for me, it's more about dignity.
I actually do consider the Hatcher pic more sexual, but in a good way. Her pose and expression are saying "Don't I look hot?" whereas the Sue pic in question was saying, well, something else. ;)

And that last inappropriate pic debate I mentioned? That poster was just trying to get a rise out of someone (No pun intended) and the picture in question was an amateur drawing of a nude Sue sitting on a bed, legs spread, but keeping her private area invisible. Real cute.
The poster openly admitted he had placed the pic in anticipation of one of our female participants noticing and reacting to it.
Then once the pic was removed by the mods, he started posting amateurish Photoshopped insults aimed at our mods and other members, including me. In fact, those trolling posts are the only posts he's made on SHH for the last month. So far the mods have chosen to be patient with his behavior, and I've chosen to ignore him. (The same way I ignore my 5-year old's intentional belching.)

Anyway, that's all I have to say on this matter, I hope.
I'd like to leave it to others to defend Sue Richards' dignity in the future. :yay:

I agree with your first point, Victor put that costume together on the fly so I can forgive them for that. I did like the little extra on the behind the scenes stuff on the DVD where the costume designer (Jose Fernandez I believe?) explained how he came up with it. And remember, the suits at Fox didn't even want one or the mask!! Lord only knows what they expected him to have but I suspect they wanted to go all leathery like the X franchise. The trench coat was a compromise just as Magneto's look is very different from the classic design, also by Kirby by the way, but tweaked (but not by much) over the years by Neal Adams, Dave Cockrum, John Byrne and others.

As I have pointed out before, there is a big difference from the Doom that appears in FF#5 as compared to the very next issue where he teams up with Namor. I don't think anyone would like it if the movie went "by the book" and had Victor wearing pantaloons! There was a funny sequence that happened in the Doom 2099 series where his future self, all decked out in his chrome/adamanitium armor meets up with a game simulation of his old self and is embarrassed by it.

Bishop, your point is understood and well taken.
I am sympathetic to your view.

Malus is quite correct that the owners of this Board may institute
rules prohibiting such images.

However, the facts are these:

The rules are consistant.
They are clearly posted in the FAQ section.
The image you posted does not violate these posted rules.
It is the interpretation and enforcement of these rules that is inconsistant.

Therefore, it seems prudent here to err on the side of caution when thinking of posting images that some might deem "inappropriate" (though it seemed in this case that many responses were quite positive
and appreciative).
