Representatives for Steven Spielberg confirmed last night that the production offices of INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL were robbed of computers, photographs and other "proprietary information." The spokesperson confirmed the theft but would offer up no details. Luckily IESB has some of those details including what exactly was taken. Reportedly 2,000 production stills, a complete budget breakdown and the current shooting script were among the things procured by the thief during the robbery. Said robber allegedly sent an e-mail to a number of online outlets looking to sell the material. TMZ initiated contact with the person and even went as far as to promote the scoop on their daytime TV show says IESB. That didn't last long as Paramount's lawyers and law enforcement officials intervened and stopped the release of the information. A sting was then sent up with an online reporter who met the suspect at a hotel to exchange the goods for cash. That's when the long arm of the law jumped in to nab the robber (who was only asking $2,000...). That was a pretty close call for Spielberg and the INDY 4 crew as these details could've spoiled the entire movie and spread across the web like wildfire if they were released for even minutes. The lesson, as always: don't ***** with Spielberg.

that guy was a moron....people would easily have paid $5,000 upwards for that stuff...

Hopefully he gets severe punishment for being a Tool!

Was it the same guy who stole Coppola's laptop? I bet his kneecaps are feeling the pain right now.

I would have released everything for free, just because

I'm glad that stuff didn't get out. I'm sure I would've been in some random board discussing...I don't know.. Ansel Adams' photography or something just to have some random dude post an Indy spoiler for no apparent reason.

"Lolz i can't beleve teh aliens kill indy at the end!!1"

Score another notch on the Spielberg belt.

Honestly, that would've been a tool-ish thing to do. And even worse for $2,000 dollars?

They shouldn't punish him. They should just write him a small check since he's apparently so desperate for money yet so stupid.

Ha ha, good one!

Looks like Mike Vick has competition for Idiot of the Year.

If I was Spielberg, I would find the best lawyers ever and spend a good amount of time making sure this toolbox never has a job above Head Greeter at Wal-Mart for the rest of his days.....

I could imagine some twisty legal way that they could argue that after investing 10's of millions of dollars in the making of the movie, to have the plot spoiled for people would diminsh their ticket sales and would be like robbing them of millions of dollars, so they could put him away for years and years.

But of course that's absurd, like anyone's going to say,
"Well, I was so excited to see a new Indy Jones movie after all these years, but, now I know who dies and what happens and that Indy wins in the end, so, I'm not gonna see it now."

It was all probably just a publicity stunt orchastrated by Spielberg/Paramount to drum up talk about how "secretive" Indy IV is. :whatever:

Steven Spielberg is furious at 24 year old actor Tyler Nelson for revealing plot details for Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull to the Edmond Sun. He is so upset that he is threatening to remove all scenes with Nelson from the movie. Spielberg's spokesman is already stating that Nelson may never work in Hollywood again. Woops.

Yeah lol, I had read that yesterday from a different site and they said he did in fact remove his scenes as well as the producer or studio head had basically confirmed his career is over! I love it! Good way to stick it to the thieves who keep trying to leak out spoilers from the set.
