THINK, now: Would Doomsday have killed the Batman?

The Question said:
I'm sorry, bu it's this kind of stuff that makes me dislike Batman fans. And I use the term fans in the same way I use it to describe the Trekkies who have Klingon weddings. I have similar sentiments for Hulk fans and Wolverine fans.

Agree 100%

Batsy fanboys make thread like: I bet Batman wuld hav fout doomsday differnt and won the day! He wuld hav prep time!

While Wolverine fans go: Yo, like he can regenerate from a drop of blood yo!

Hulk fans: Puny superheroes can't beat Hulk, because the madder Hulk gets, the stronger he gets. So all other people will do is make him madder!

GRRRRR....:cmad:

I see what you're saying: Batman would have fought Doomsday the same way Superman did, i.e. brute force, and, of course, would have lost. Interesting! Anyone else?

And yes, of course I'm a Superman fan (obviously!), thank you.

Getting back on topic...

If Batman were there he would have realized that it's only one person who could've defeated Doomsday.

Chuck Norris.

Perople like that are fans of those characters for all the wrong reasons. I especialy hate when people say that The Hulk or Wolverine are the "ultimate heroes." Wolverine's barely heroic half the time, and The Hulk as long periods where he is very unheroic. They're interesting characters, but they're not the ultimate heroes.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! What a silly thread. :woot::down

Aside from perhaps coming up with some form of battlefield removal to get Doomsday the hell away from him (teleport him into the sun or something crazy like that), I fail to see how Batman can even come close to surviving an encounter with Doomsday.

^ Good answer. You're winning. So far.

Though I appreciate Harlekin's answer, too.

The fact is, he still would have gotten destroyerd. Superman had no prep time when he first fought Doomsday, so Batman wouldn't have either which means he would have been destroyed. And everyone that would even bring up the "but he can beat Superman argument" is wrong also. He knows Superman's weakness and has a supply of kryptnite with him. That plus the fact that basically everytime batman has fought Superman and somehow managed to survive, Superman was holding back. Doomsday wouldn't hold back, and he would have no apparent weakness like Superman does to kryptonite which adds up to Batman being completely screwed whether he has prep time or not.

I can't beleive I actually just answered this thread.

Hmmm. Excellent question, young man. No, I don't think Batman would have fought the battle the same way Superman did. As posters have said, there's NO WAY he could go fist to fist with the beast. So he would have tried to win using his smarts.

Unfortunatly, that would have taken more time. In places hundreds died, thousands may have died instead.

Still, because Bats could not hope to win in direct combat against Doomsday, he would have been forced to back off, and try to use his intelligence, science and technology to win.

In the end, yes, I suppose he would have won... but the cost (in destruction) would have been greater. And ironically, because of his lack of strength, and his lack of invulnerablity, I think he could have survived.

I think my I.Q just dropped even further after reading this post, not only for idiotically saying that Batman has some chance against Doomsday, but also for responding to HIMSELF

Hell, Batman barely survived when Superman was not holding back. He's still alive today because Wonder Woman interviened and the battle was at the JLA Watchtower.

A better question would be Grimace vs. Batman without preptime! My money's on Grimace, wouldn't you agree Hippie Hunter?

I love Grimace. I think the Hamburgular can take him though.

Hey blksupey, if you were hungry and you really had the taste for a burger, would you eat mayor mccheese? And if so, is that considered cannobolism?

If you are not of the Cheesburger race, then no.

But isn't he........human? Mutant? I don't know what the f he is!

I love batman, but you guys are ****ing nuts with your preptime.

I believe the most zen-like answer has come from Tropico. By posting a picture of the cat, he is saying the following:

There is a fight between a pittbull and a german shepherd. Both fight to the death. If we were to replace the shepherd with a cat, even a brilliant one, it could NOT win. It's just not in the same league.

Brilliant. That sums up nicely how most of the above posters feel about a fight of any sort between Batman and Doomsday; they are not in the same league. It would be like Grimace trying to take on Doomsday. Not in the same league. Thank you for using the creative sides of your mind.

If Batman finds a way to deprive the Grimace of his unending supply of McDonalds shakes, then he has some chance. Otherwise, no. Batman's superpower of prep-time (which Amazo apparently copied in Justice League of America #5), makes him unbeatable but not against the Grimace. Without prep-time, Batman would get ass raped.

There are only two people who are equal to the Grimace in supreme power and have a chance of defeating him without prep-time. They are:

You people are all missing a very valuable point here. The fact is, Batman is the one in a billion person that will always pull things off. Period. Would the chance normally be one in a million that Batman could pull it off. Yep, but he'll be that one in the million that gets the job done. Why, because it's a comic book. Do you think Frodo could go and destory Sauron's ring? Would you bet on that? Well, guess what, it happened. Bottom line, anyone who bets against Batman is a complete moron. You might as well bet against the Harlem Globetrotters. Personally, I love to see Batman always come out on top. Doesn't bother me at all, and I get a kick out of others who get so upset about it. Funny how that happens.

Okay, let me see if I can break it down like this for you Mark:

Batman fights Doomsday, and dies within, let's be generous and say, a nanosecond. What with Doomsday having Superman-level physical stats and no restraint on said power, seems fair.

Batman tries to stop the creature. Now, granting that he doesn't have access to the JLA teleporter system and doesn't use the loop that Steel thought of to hold Doomsday during the Doomsday Wars, he'll still fail spectacularly in even containing the beast. Let's run down just hwo Doomsday went though on his first encounter, with one hand tied behind his back: The combined Justice League of America. One of the most potent superteams in the DCU (packing Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Maxima) did nothing more than burn Doomsday's clothes. They couldn't restrain him, nor could they do more than slow him down for a few seconds. Batman is not the Justice League of America, and his options, should Doomsday come to Gotham, would be far more limited. Sleeping gas and some nifty Batarangs won't do a goddamn thing to Doomsday, so even if Batman were to try to contain the level of destruction that Doomsday could cause, he would fail utterly. Not just utterly, but so spectacularly as to make No Man's Land look like Metropolis.

There, there it is in bytes of data for your comprehension. The reason they had Superman fight Doomsday, and I realize that this may be a bit difficult to comprehend, is because he was a cosmic threat. In other words, Doomsday is so out of Batman's league that the distance between the sun and Pluto is a much smaller figure by comparison.

so i wake up...shower....eat breakfast...you know..the ussual.....and then i enter my precious little hype and see...what? what's that?? could batman defeat doomsday? ok, so i actually took the time to read it all, luaghed mao with that doomsday killing batman pic, and in the end i agreed with blksupes, this is a job for...chuck.
but just for the kick of it, let's say batman did have to fight doomsday (please forgive oh great hype-gods for actually responding) the fight would go something like this:

*60s adam west batman-like onomatopea* ka pow....batman's dead, NEXT? (while burt ward robin's dancing in the corner).

Now don't get me wrong, i love Batman, he IS the best there is at what he does, and i'm sure writers could pull this one off, but come on...let's be "realistic", it's just not going to happen (it makes me so sad to admit the bat IS breakable). and i read that whole frodo argument, i'm not going to say LOTR is bad writing, but it's a whole different issue, if batman had to drop a ring somewhere to beat doomsday he'd do it in a second, but well, you get the idea...anyway, that's all folks.
