This is aimed primarily at oldbies (Sorry [A])

Part of me hopes I haven't changed too much as I always got along well with most people here and posted a lot, so despite being a mod now I'd like to think I've remained that same guy. One thing I have learned to do is just let it go, sure I can still have a long argumentative debate, but when I first started I used to get pissed off at the more obnoxious and difficult posters, yet I came to realize that is probably what they want, so I'd say I'm more relaxed overall than I used to be and don't let views and personalities that grate on me have a major effect, some of that has spilled over into offline life as I try to be calmer.
Ha! I still see that argumentative debate sometimes. Rarely but it does happen (*ahem*footballthread*ahem*). :o :p If you have changed, it's for the better. Except for the pervy part. You're more pervy than before and you corrupted me, you bastard!

As for friends, I've made some really good ones from a variety of backgrounds and I met Bella, who I am closer with than just about anyone I've ever met, and I've learned the value of truly listening to the other persons perspective through her, so I can only count my experiences here as good.
You're my BFF, too. As I said before, you're like my best girl friend, minus the vagina and the boobies. :oldrazz:

Oh! I also learned how to make Avatars. :woot:
Something I'll never learn due to my mental handicap when it comes to dealing with technology. :csad:

I've learned that if your not a constant poster, you'll have a hell of a time trying to get a bigger avatar. I've been here for a long time and I still don't got the goods.
Your package [blackout]... by that, I meant your avatar, of course ;)[/blackout] looks big enough to me.

And things seem pretty mellow around here than what they were when this place was first "spider-man hype!"
I wish I had been here when it was crazier.

I didn't hear any complaints :o
Yeah, because all you hear were sexual innuendos. :o

AND you never answered my question I left you on your wall about the Janine from your Ghostbusters video.

I didn't? I thought I did. Might have send a private IM.

You've got the biggest size avatar you can get, Mike.

Meh, I've seen bigger. I expect a 5"x5" avatar when you've been here for 6 years (more if you count my old account i've had since this was spider-man hype that was banned for posting a picture of a black sillouette of a woman breast feeding).

Sooooooooo :oldrazz:

This site has consistently gone downhill since about April 4th, 2004. Not quite sure why though.

I think this place has definitely made me a bigger dork and I did meet my roommate/best friend in the world thinks to the Hype.

I feel that after four years on the Hype (come September) my spelling and grammar have dramatically improved.
Same...except for the spelling thing, yeah I still kinda suck at that but it is better.

I learned to respect other's opinions more and I've learned that I'm addicted to this place and that the Superman boards are the most exciting place and have the best people visiting them.

Sadly I've also learned that alot of my fellow Batman fans are annoying as f**k.

I've also learned alot more about film in general...which is awesome cause I luv film.

The Superman boards do have some pretty inspirational ideas. Can't say much for the Batman boards.

The Batman boards turned to s**t after TDK came out...maybe even after BB came out.

All I know is I hate most of the people there because they are zealots, although things have tampered down a bit.

I can't believe I've been here almost 6 years.

When I started here the Twin Towers were still standing...

Honestly, they were nothing special. Just really tall buildings. Not to trivialize all the lives lost on 9-11 of course.

Jeez can't I lament about the fact that I'm never going to visit the Twin Towers??

I'm not saying that they were the greatest thing in the universe but I still wanted to see the damn things in person.

I gave TDK wide berth... I didn't want anything to do with the boards during the hype of that movie.

In all honesty, the only times either board became troll haven is during any and all discussions of costume and choice of actor. Classic vs anything new... Routh vs Welling... teh puffy vs stay puft... etc.

I actually quite enjoy the Batboards especially before TDK came out because its like Arkham Asylum in there. I just like going in there and seeing what crazy stuff some noobs post. Most of the old crazies on hype got banned.

I came across good and bad on this site. And the events and such have made lasting effects in both social interaction and reflections of myself.

I have had problems with letting things go. Like in school, if someone said something to me insulting at first I would fight them. Then I started relying on martial arts and wrestling lessons to control my temper and would just be annoyed, no desire to entertain a response.

Some people, here, push buttons just for the sake of it. I mean, it's the internet, so they feel safe that no one will bring them physical harm. And you can't argue back because a lot of "misunderstandings" can happen. So one can become very patient when dealing with people here, and it makes you so much more resilient to immature people in the real world.

Those that wish to actually have a good time and be playful or friendly, have attributed to having an escape or sense of home. Break-ups, monetary issues, depression and life issues, etc...Can bring one down or make murky their sense of place. But having a familiar place to go can allow you to "sit out" from life for a while, while you get better.

I had an accident a year ago. I had a lot of medical and other issues, but coming online and talking with people gave me something to do while getting better. Of course the downside is that many people here think that I'm a bit touched in the head. But, hey, that's life.

So with good and bad, there is a sense of place. And while I'm not looking to make friends, I can still form connections with this place as well as some of the people.

If I make fun of you, are you going to send me another PM? :csad:

Max dimensions are 100x100.

Probably as it would be off topic, uncalled for, and I wasn't talking to you. That or just place you on ignore. Though you can do as you like, I don't care.

I just don't understand the fascination with really tall buildings. Sorry.

I am.

this thread is going off course fast and needs some classic hype

BACK ON TOPIC

Personally I think I am a lot more cynical and bitter towards movie studios of all things. When I joined the Hype we were just coming of the excellence of X2, and going into Fantastic Four, X3, and other films that for me turned out to be dissapointments in retrospective. I was just so thrilled to see my favorite childhood heroes being fleshed out on screen and I was soooooooooo optimistic. Very quickly I learned about the greed and politics involved. This place taught me a lot about how studios produce these projects--and I've learned to not put faith in anything until I've seen the final product IN theatres.

My god...when I think of all of the FOX cheerleader threads I made in the early years...I cry a bit inside. :csad:

Yes.

We first met during the glorious days leading up to F4.
