I think it's pretty unique/ballsy that this film is essentially the actors parodying themselves.

Yeah i can understand that. I mean they are essentially banking on the fact that the audience is actually familiar with all of these actors. I think the joke would be kind of lost if you don't know who Michael Cera or Jay Baruchel is.

Just from the trailer and who've they've chosen to cameo they seem to be hitting a pretty specific demo target. I think rihanna and watson being thrown in helped to diversify that i suppose.

Yeah, watching celebrities you know die seems to be what most the jokes rely on so far. Hopefully the film keeps the energy through out and it doesnt get tired.

I'm sure it would be, but theres no doubt this adds to the humor quite a bit and alot of jokes will rely on name dropping and making fun of/killing well known actors. Besides the end of the world stuff I think its mostly about how (film) Seth's celebrity friends get in the way of him and Jay's friendship.
