Batman Begins

A true review for this badly made batman flick, 6 Nov 2005
Reviewer:Mr Krool "It pays to be krool" (Kildary, Scotland) - See all my reviewsThis movie is TOTALLY over-rated. It was REALLY boring and totally panned away from Gotham city for most of the film. Japan? Legend of shadows? WAY to weird for Batman. Plus when his parents got killed it didnt really feel heart pounding. The joker batman did it good but this one didnt. Plus they changed the story of batman. In the original batman movie it was the Joker that killed his parents and he got him at the end but Begins totally changed that and messed it up bad. Begins was unnessesery as the previous batman films explains everything you need to know about his past.I'm always going to accept that it was a classic villian (Joker) that killed his parents than a mugger that probably worked for the scarecrow. The scarecrow was crap in the film, making very little appearence and didnt feel like a villian like the other batman films. Begins doesnt feel like a superhero film but instead feels like a badly made revenge film. Christian Bale did a bad perfomance and sounded depressed in his lines. He was too much like The Punisher and wasnt that likeable in the movie (Keaton and Clooney were likeable and had some humour. Bale was just boring.) In the other batman films I could imagine Batman helping out a kid in danger but I can only imagine Bale spitting at a kid. I know he's MEANT to be mean as thats why he becomes batman but he should still be likeable and Bale didnt deliever it right.
Good things -
1. Some action that was cool (Nothing really special and remerable though)
2. Some cool effects
Bad things -
1. WAYYY to boring and overlong (We kept checking how long the film had been on for and wishing that the punishment would be over soon)
2. Bad and non-enjoyable performance from Christian Bale
3. Went too far with the story and complicated it too much. It was more like Tenchu and the Last Samari than a batman flick. If you watched the film from these parts you would NEVER guess that it was Batman. They should have kept in Gotham and the streets as that would have been more entertaining and realistic.
4. Not enough action and nothing special about the action they do show
I bought this for my mate and he wants me to return this to the store and I agree with him. It gets a 2 star in most mags I check and I pretty much agree with that. If you're a batman fan then I DONT reccomend this film as they TOTALLY change the story of Batman that we learned from the previous Burton films and made it worse. I liked the thought of how the Joker was the killer. Stick to the last two film for bright action batman flicks and Burton's ones for your dark ones. Just bin Batman Begins and forget this fake story and remember the real one.

Ahhh! At long last Batman & Robin has made it to 2 disk., November 6, 2005

Reviewer: Mr Krool "It pays to be krool" (Kildary, Scotland) - See all my reviews If they bothered to release this 2 disk then that show's that SOME people like it. Once again I must say, why does everyone hate this film? Its just as good as the other batman's, maybe even better. I would rather see a colourful batman film that's exciting and funny than one thats boring and dull like begins. People just keep hating this film for things such as its rated PG (who cares? Spiderman 2 is a PG and thats good and that's for kids as well as adults.) George Clooney's in it (He did a great job in Dusk til Dawn and the same in Batman and is better than Christian Bale who seems to drag on.) And finally, the nipples on the batsuit. Who cares? I'm certainly not gonna hate Bat & Rob for small minor problems like that. I hate movies if I've got a good reason to unlike a lot of people out there.
The 2 disk special edition DVD is a great buy and is recommended to people that love big budgeted action scenes and funny dialoge. That 'sky surfing' scene is probably the best and coolest scene ever in Batman history. You just can’t top that. Its good how this batman film is different and more enjoyable than the other ones. Colourful movies are always better than dark and boring ones. Get Batman & Robin and ignore all those bad reviews that people give the movie for no good reason cause none of them are true. The 2 disk DVD is an excellent buy and should be added into you're collection of action films.

This does indeed make me sad as a Batman fan. :(

Yep, it's truly excruciating but you're going to come across such irrational people now and then.

Sounds me to that 6-year-old kid wrote this.

Umm...Spider-Man 2 was PG-13 too so that guy is wrong too.

That is the worst review ever. The first thing that bugs me is the lack of decent grammer.. It must be a review from a child; I doubt many people would use that kind of grammar.. Secondly, this person must NOT be an over all Batman fan; had they been, they would have realized how faithful the movie was to the comic books and mythos of the character. If this person really believes that the JOKER murdered Bruce's parents, then they can't call themselves a fan, in my opinion. I don't think many people like movies that have a background story, and a lot of exposition. I think what Begins did was SO much better. It is the legendary tale of a man on a quest to find HIMSELF.. He is seeking the means to fight injustice, and fight the evil in the world. VERY popular story-telling. In fact, I think the build up of the film makes the appearence of the Dark Knight SO MUCH BETTER..
As for the second review, what is this person on?? That movie was terrible. I mean, sure, if you WANTED to go back to the 1966 tv series, that's fine; it was good in its own right, but not good enough for a blockbuster movie. The acting in Batman and Robin was terrible. Arnold Swartzeneger was the biggest disappointment, beacuse he is such a good actor. Batman and Robin is a Batman movie for KIDS, period. Heck, my little sister loves Batman and Robin. I think it keeps kids' interest better than Begins, because they are kids who don't pay attention to story detail and the technical ideologies that go into makeing the film; i.e., character development, use of metaphores, similies, angst, mood and tone, protaginists and antaginists, etc, etc. Batman and Robin tells a decent story (Freeze's wife and the disease, can't remember what it's called as I don't ever watch B&R), however, the acting and the over the top lines and just everything in general makes the movie sort of cliched... Just my opinion of coruse.

When did Joel Shumacher start reviewing movies?

this is truly ridiculous. he'd rather watch a ******ed , campy, gay, horribly written and acted movie than something as brilliant as begins was.everyone agrees that B&R was unredemtptive crap.everyone.yet this crack pipe smoker gives B&R a 4 out of 5 and begins a 2 out of 5??!!WTF?????

kids, i hope you learned a lesson:

SMOKE POT,AND YOUR BRAIN STARTS TO ROT!!!!!!!!

"forget this fake story and remember the real one."

This guy has probably never picked up a Batman comic in his life.

he probably isn't very sincere about his reviews

Hey, he liked Sister Act.

The only amazing thing about those reviews is that someone opened a thread about them.

No offense, Mr. Thing btw, but those are crap. They should belong nowhere.

I think that BatmanRules33/Batwing6655/brownish33. I know he hate BB with a passion, that he ramble on with nonsense. Or he could make friend with that guy. Or maybe it his imagination friend. I wouldn't be surprise if he have one now. :yellow: :p

And no offense, but who the heck says, "overlong??" I've never heard ANYONE use that term. He could have said, "The movie was "TOO LONG" or "The movie DRAGGED ON" etc, etc. I don't know. Just a minor thing to pick at. I guess being an English major has made me a bit picky with grammer, but even if I had never stepped foot inside an English classroom, I would still have a problem with the term "overlong.." Just... sounds... terrible...

And one last thing. Look at his name.. "Mr. Krool; It Pays to be Krool." Well, he definately gave a CRUEL statment there. Sounds like the guy just did it to be mean. I mean, with a name like Mr. Krool, what else can you expect from the guy??

LOL, it's probably him. I wouldn't be surprised one bit.

I highly suspect it's a goof. I wouldn't take it serious.

Well, I did like B&R back when I was a kid, and I'd still watch it now for sheer entertainment, but I absolutely loved BB. It was everything I've wanted from a Batman film.
