The reason why I want the Goblin in the costume is because I don't want to look back on these movies years from now and see only Spider-Man fighting only CGI villains. It is impossible to have the Lizard without CGI, so I understand. If they go for just a Goblin physically transformed, he will be another CGI villain. It is important to take a break from computer animated characters if they want to include ones like Venom in the future.
... if they made it so he was physically transformed into a Goblin (like the Gargoyle Ultimate version) then it would be all CGI. If he was in costume then no, it would be practical effects.Huh? The Transformation would be CGI, once he's the Goblin though, it would all be make-up and practical effects.
I don't see how they could create the Lizard with practical effects (other than him in the process of turning into the Lizard)The Lizard could easily of been make-up and practical effects; but they didn't do that. So I think if they went for the "Hulk" Goblin, it would be entirely CGI.
I don't think they are going to use Ultimate Green Goblin to be honest. They will probably base the character's story off of Ultimate Spider-Man, but use the design from the 616 Universe.^ I agree, I love that glider, bravo to Raimi for that, he got that right, not much else. I don't know but original goblin is the way they better go. Thunderbolts Green Goblin.
I hate this new franchise already I can see them doing the Ultimate Green Goblin like aholes.
Agree with everything you said.Contrary to everyone else, I loved the "power ranger" goblin gear. Goblins costume is theatrical. At some point the only reasoning the movie needs to give is that it really is a costume. They have come up with some more practical ways in the comics to militarize the goblin but keep the flair. They should take a look at that. To me it's like Doom wearing clothes on top of his armor. At some point it's just a costume. The costume is a symbol the Goblin uses to terrorize his enemies.
I don't want transformation because he needs to be a foil to Peter/Spiderman. He's gotta be a mad man in a suit(or a sane man ala Spectacular Spiderman).
Movies shouldn't be afraid to get theatrical. They just need to maintain a tone.
