Sequels Thor: Love and Thunder

Love and Thunder reminds me of the title of this film with Jean Grey and Happy Hogan:

Now that i think about it, it was interesting to have Angela Jolie on stage when introducing Thor: L&T.
Simply because they brought up "The Mighty Thor" storyline which in turn sees Jane Foster go through a similar problem like AJ went through as well. I wonder if she has any idea of it because it should mean a lot to her and other women in that condition.

Let's call it what it REALLY is. "Jane Foster" doesn't sell movie tickets, but the name Thor does. So just like in the comics they're willing to strip a major character of his namesake (and abilities) in order to prop up a lesser one.
So....you're saying it is a comics accurate movie. Cool.

I'm super hype for this. I'm wondering who could be the villain. Mangog has a really memorable showing at the tail end of Jane's run as Thor.

Thor has been gradually turned into a joke over the last 3 movies. This isn't really that shocking a move if we're honest.
He wasn't a joke after IW. He became many people's favourite after that.

Portman was mad at the people in charge of the MCU when she made THOR THE DARK WORLD because of the change of directors. Since then.....her career hasn't done too good, but the MCU is flourishing. She has seen the light....she will do a better performance the next time.
Yeah, she wouldn’t be back after all that unless she had good reason to be confident that this would be a very good showing for her.

Eh, it depends how one wants to see her career tho. Post Dark World she got another Oscar nom for Jackie. She also worked with an auteur like Terrence Malick. Annihilation was a critic darling for the most part and she was great in that. Vox Lux and her performance in it has developed a cult following of sorts. MCU finally showed her a bigger paycheck and a chance for her to play a hero, she'd have to be crazy not to have taken this one. Good news for fans tho, she won't sleep walk through this one.

She also went back to school didn’t she? Maybe I’m getting my time frames mixed up. I know she focused on being a mom a bit too

It just occurred to me that not only has MCU Thor had every single little thing about the character taken from him - he is now officially The Wizard from Shazam. At this point I just wish they had killed his character off in EG.

She was going to school at around the same time as the Star Wars prequels. As for taking time off for kids, she's actually worked pretty steadily throughout the years and only missed having multiple films come out in 2012 (she gave birth in June 2011), 2014 (moved to France for her husband's new job), and 2017 (she gave birth in March 2017.)

really excited for this!!!

I am one of few who does not like Thor's portrayal in Endgame, and honestly...I have my doubt that Marvel Studios will ever showing Thor like he was in my favorite portrayal in Jason Aaron's run (it might sound hyperbole but I think that no one can ever write a good Thor story like Aaron was right now), but here we are....with Taika himself said that Thor 4 will drew inspiration from the very Jason Aaron's story.

I couldnt be more happier than that! Especially I am a big fan of Jane Foster Thor storyline in comics...it is short, yes, but it was a very emotional read and has one of the best story in Thor mythos.

I have a suggestion to few people here who have their hype being decreased because they didnt like Jane Foster being Thor or the fact that she is coming back to this franchise..I .suggest to read a Mighty Thor books by Jason Aaron (which featuring the very central story of Jane Foster Thor, if you havent already).

And I dont agree to giving her title to Valkyrie like some has suggested, because what makes Lady Thor special is because of Jane Foster (and I am sure that Taika has also been drawn by her story that he decides to bring her back in Thor 4).

Give it a chance first, and perhaps you can see why Taika Waititi loved it and has chose to bring Jane Foster and her Lady Thor persona into the big screen.

Anyway, this, alongside with Shang-Chi and Blade has been my most anticipated movies in what would very likely a quiet and calm Phase 4.

A visual representation of my level of hype after thinking we were maybe getting a team up with Thor and Beta Ray Bill to finding out we're getting Lady Thor:sleepy:

And before anyone kicks off with the usual I enjoyed Portman very much in the Star Wars prequels & V For Vendetta but she never did anything for me in the Thor movies.

Personally I liked JMS's run on Thor better than Aaron's run
He didn't feel the need to deconstruct and break down the character, he just showed why Thor was awesome as-is
God of Thunder was pretty fun with the 3 Thors and whatnot, and the Gorr story was very good
But thru the whole Jane/Thor story, Thor himself was a mopey little b****
I'm sure Taika won't go that route though

If this is the end for Hemsworth then I hope the movie also works as a great send-off for Thor Odinson. I'm not quite happy with how they left things at the end of Endgame.

I'm assuming Thor won't be in Guardians 3 now

They literally JUST teamed him up with the Guardians in EG and are already going to retcon in. LOL
I heard Gunn didn't have Thor in his script anyway, but it is a little weird. I'm sure it could be mentioned in this, but we'll see.

What if he's unworthy/depowered by the end of the movie?

He doesn't really have anything to be unworthy of in the MCU. Even if Mjolnir comes back he doesn't need that as Stormbreaker is more powerful. And even Unworthy Thor beat the crap out of Apocalypse and the X-Men on his own in the comics, and the MCU equivalent beat up the Hulk, moved an enormous space station and survived the force of a star.

If he's depowered it's another thing, but I don't see the point in depowering a character and leaving him like that. The MCU certainly isn't going the low power route with characters like Captain Marvel.

You don't have to have 'Unworthy Thor' to make the female Thor storyline work.
BUT you do have to have a way of bringing an undamaged Mjolnir into the present. I'm curious as to how they are going to do that.
