Loki actually did kill Thor, in Thor, when he ordered the Destroyer to kill his depowered and vulnerable brother. Thor is only alive because Odin revived him. That qualified as trying very hard to kill Thor for reelz since Loki succeeded.
I hope we get something new today.
But he might not have known how fragile a 'mortal' Thor was... so I hold my position. (I don't think he was actually dead anyway, just 'mostly' dead- it was Mjolnir deciding it was close enough to be worthy that bumped him back. Odin was still snoozing)
I wonder if something was planned yesterday that would have been insensitive considering what happened in LV (like a Skurge moment for example)
Thank goodness the only humans in this film are the ones people care about like Bruce Banner.
It was the human characters that ruined Thor: The Dark World for me.
