I think the Ragnarok comedy is going to go down slightly better if you take all potential audience members into account, plus it has a higher level when it brings the awesome and action. I did like the emotional part of GotG2 near the end though.
Taika's comedy suits me more to be honest. It's different than Gunn's which also can be great at times.

I love the comedy in both, but yeah certain sectors of the GA I'm sure will be less put off by Ragnarok style comedy.

Had an alcoholically rough day yesterday, didn't sleep. Got onto the highway to go watch the 5pm show, traffic deadlocked for km. Realised I'll never stay awake for later shows, crept home beaten, tail between the legs.
Going to the 11am show today.

Live to fight another day mate

Ah, that sucks to hear. I hope your experience with the film makes up for the trouble!

I have to watch the movie again.
The more it sinks in the more i find stuff to appreciate about it. The more i really want go and watch it again to go through some epic scenes and rewatch other ones that i just need to se them play out again and refresh my memory. There is so much good stuff, so much...

There's going to be a Thor Ragnarok preview during the InHumans soon tonight in the US.

Yep same here. I think I might do another early morning weekday showing next week.

I don't mean to "spam" but our Killian vs Drax battle only has one more day left.

Stop by and vote when you get the chance, link is in my signature.

This movies has some of the most epic MCU action sequences ever. Just the first 5 minutes is almost worth the price of admission. For those like me who also loved classic Thor with mjolnir... then that beginning is the holly grail of badassery.

It has to be one of if not the strongest openings ever for a MCU film.

How does it stack up to Thor's Frost Giant battle in Thor 1 and the opening action scene of Avengers 2?

Anything lightning in the opening battle?

Definately that awesome ground smash we've seen in some tv spots,I'm seeing it again in 10 hours and will try to get as many details as possible this time. Oh and we actually get great flying shots!

Having seen the film 5 days ago, I agree that Thor absolutely destroys in this film. The power levels shown are just incredible.

This is Beast Thor. They've done all the things we were asking from him power wise.

It seems unfair that the Norh America always gets Marvel movies a week late.

What day of the week does it come out in US?
