This man.

Tired of both sides taking this BS to extremes. Someone says they want more films like Winter Soldier (a reasonable desire) and people act like he said he wants depressing darkness. And Waititi's response just makes him seem narrow minded. Going over the top with gags and jokes isn't the only way to make a film fun or enjoyable. Winter Soldier was fun. Nolan's films are fun. Wonder Woman was fun. Iron Man was fun. Star Wars is fun. The Harry Potter franchise is fun. Mad Max Fury Road was fun. Comedy isnt the only source of happiness and fun. Plus, its not the job of every MCU film to counter the horrible **** that's going on in the world.

Nolan's films are fun? Wow that's new

All those other films are fun, well I don't know about WW either.

He never disappoints. It amuses me that some still take him completely seriously though. Remember when this movie was 90 minutes long? :funny:

i prefer fun to dreadful...

really i want to like dc films, but watching it makes me suicidal

I doubt this is the first time you've encountered someone that thinks Nolan's films are fun. Unless you've been living under a rock.

Both sides? This movie has been bombarded by complaints from a large majority of DC fanboys and haters on Twitter, Youtube... Most of the complaints are are just made to throw dirt on the movie because JL is just around the corner and some people can't deal with Thor Ragnarok being very well received like that is somehow going to jeopardize JL success.

That person in particular actually seems to be just one that legitimately thinks that for a reason and maybe not for the sake of trolling. The problem is, after so many stupid complaints and whining it's hard to find out who really is genuine and truthful about their opinions and not just trying to piss people off while making a fool of themselves in the process. Enter Taika's correct answer.

Just deleted a page of nonsense bickering, play nice or get a time out

Waititi only responded in tone. It was the request that was inane.
It's not like people are obliged to go see Ragnarok if they're not so inclined.
Making one movie one way does not prevent making others differently.

Just watched it. A lot of fun. I was cracking up laughing in so many bits and there was some great unique characters. The action sequences were brilliant. Tessa was such a standout I want more and more of her in this role and they need to give her more to do because she was brilliant. There was such great chemistry between the cast and characters.

If there was one thing a letdown again for me in Marvel movies would be the villain. Cate was amazing in the role and worked well with what she got but she was a one note villain and didn’t really seem as threatening as she should’ve been. But she was still badass. And I found Idris to be a bit wasted overall in this. Felt like they put him in there just because it’s Idris Elba. But overall I plan to watch this again. Best of the Thor films. Best performance by Chris too.

8/10

Movies are judged nowadays by how much money they make at the box office.

Big budget movies have to make mucho bucks. Just a fact.

reviewed well and great WOM but low box office bad.

The almighty dollar is the judge.

It's been so much fun reading early reviews and reactions (not used to that as Sweden is usually on the first day of release) that the wait has flown by pretty quickly. Tomorrow is the big day!

I won't get home from my trip until tomorrow morning but then it's just to catch some sleep, get up fairly late, go out to dinner and then it's showtime! :woot:

Unfortunately both franchises are now plagued by this. So many people seem to feel like they had to pick a side DC or Marvel and just shower their own side with nothing but praise and the other with nothing but negativity.

Would bet you all the tea in china first week of JL release will be full of hate as well its just the way people seem to like to communicate now.

In a few hours I will finally be watching this movie and as an Italian, I'm looking forward to despising it! :awesome:

I know you’re a huge Inhumans fan, and you lost that property to TV. Now, with that doing how it’s doing on television, do you look at that and go, well, maybe it’s best we didn’t do that one? Or do you still wish you had that property because you think you could have really knocked out of the park?

[Laughs] You’re breaking up, Mike. I can’t hear you. You’re breaking up…
At least the only Inhuman that matters is still untainted. You can still save her, Feige. You can save us all.

Seriously the marketing materials around the world continue to be the best the MCU has ever seen. This movie is really rockin' from all angles.

While I'm still a little concerned I'm never going to get the all-out fantasy adventure I always wanted with Thor - it keeps sounding like Taika really did make himself a "Big Trouble in Little China". I adore that movie.
