I only know Sam Neill from Jurassic Park, and his voice as a starting point for Surtur is far from what I'd have imagined. I would guess there'd be a lot of processing. Or he's very good at changing his voice, tone etc?

I've always imagined Surtur to sound like a cross between The XMen Animated's Apocalypse and a snake

Check out IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS and EVENT HORIZON. He is more than just Dr. Grant. He can do menacing.

And, of course, Hunt for the Wilderpeople!
