Interesting to note that the Marvel Legends Thor

has him with lightning effects from his hands, like his Lego counterpart.

Guessing that's a significant plot point.

Yeh man i just also addressed that in the merchandise thread. Once again if we put all the pieces together we can see where this is heading with Thor...

- The behind the scenes footage of him being engulfed in lightning while running at the Hulk.
- Lego Thor with lighting eyes and "Power Blasts" in shape of lightning.
- Now Marvel Legends Thor with lightning in his hand while wielding a sword.

Thor will command lighting without mjolnir. As predicted Thor is still worthy even though he wont have mjolnir in Sakaar he will still retain all his power. So here is the difference between "banished Earth Thor" and "Sakaar Thor". One was unworthy and stripped of his power while the other is still a God and can face the Hulk even whitout his mighty hammer.

Oh and Thor is wielding Heimdall's sword. That's big news.

Hope to see Thor keep that damn helmet.

Also, I really hope he has long hair by the end of the movie vs Surtur.

Judging by the trailer "you're probably wondering, how did this happen".. when that was said, he was in muspelheim. After, they go on to show the Gladiator stuff, so maybe Thor in Surtur's realm, as we see it, is at the end of the movie.

I wonder if the war paint will be on every GLADIATOR?
From what we have seen Hulk and Valkyrie have white war paint. I guess that's because they are part of the "home team" run by The Grandmaster. While you see Thor and some other Sakaar looking gladiators with red paint... they would be the opposition. And "team" is a loosely based term because i think it's more like "factions" and not like real teams fighting agains each other.

Thanks HD. Do you predict red or white for Korg?

Red for Korg and Miek. Since they are both gladiators in the arena and are stuck in the same "cell" as Thor. I would say red for prisoners/gladiators and white for the ones in The Grandmaster good grace.

Thor has long hair and mjolnir when he is in Muspelheim fighting Surtur. I don't know if that's the "finale" because we see Asgard in flames and Surtur may want to head to Asgard and get the Eternal Flame or that particular scene is some sort of a flashback and then that would make sense if the Surtur battle was only in Muspelheim...

It was hinted as like he was in Muspelheim. But he could have said it to Valkyrie for example in Sakaar. Or like you said they use that as something to trigger the hole movie, presenting Thor in a messed up situation and having to go back and retelling everything that happen previous to that...

Proving a point that Thor's powers do NOT come from Mjolnir. I was discussing a similar point with Dr. Strange where the EYE does NOT give him powers. BOTH Mjolnir and the Eye of Agamotto are tools for focusing the powers they do have

Well, with Strange in the MCU the Eye of Agamotto does give him the power to alter time, as I don't think he can do that without the Time Stone, but you're of course right in that the vast majority of his powers come from himself.

Look as Strange as being a type of battery. Like Mordo said, there are spells too powerful for the human body, so they use relics or tools to focus that power to.
it's almost the opposite with Thor, his power's focused through him to Mjolnir, like the sun through a magnifying glass.
Strange's power shows up orange. with the Eye/Time stone it's green, with out it, you're right he CAN'T do any time spell like he has.

I hope that Thor is like me. Once you cut your long hair off and feel the freedom a shaved head gives you, you never want to go back. I speak as a woman who accidentally let a barber shear her shoulder-length locks down to the scalp. The Dora Milaje ain't got nothing on me. :woot:

I don't know why this is even debatable. Thor clearly channeled lightning in the AOU vision evaporating Asgardians. I don't think this was accidental.

It's interesting because I still have no idea how the movie is structured even after watching the teaser 1000 times.

Someone should ask James Gunn about the second trailer for TR. He was the one that said he had seen the Teaser Trailer beforehand and thought it was probably the best Marvel had put out(he wasn't wrong) so I am wondering if he has seen the Trailer 2 and what does he think.

Someone that has a Twitter acount could tweet him with that important question and see if he catches on to it and gives us some hints. That would be nice.:cwink:

Just asked him, I'll report back if he tweets back

How do we know Thor fights surtur with his hair and hammer? Was it confirmed?

And I was talkkng from the trailer standpoint. It is clearly presenting that everything in the trailer happens before that opening scene

It's a matter of piecing things together taking into account what was shown and all the reports available including descriptions, behind the scenes footage... Trust me i have done my digging and it was plenty. Not that it gives me a 100% degree of certainty but i do like my chances.

- We know Surtur is in the movie.
- We have seen Thor being dropped into a fiery pit with fire demons all over which resembles Muspelheim.
- We know that Thor has long hair and mjolnir while battling a tall horn looking metal frame from the behind the scenes.
- We also see in the same imagery a fiery looking demon with horns and what looks like a massive sword.

Check the metal frame in front of Thor and the images on the wall. Zoom in on it. I think you can kinda fill in the blanks at this point...

Who is the Hellboy lookalike in the bottom left corner?

It's interesting because I still have no idea how the movie is structured even after watching the teaser 1000 times.

It shows so much but leaves so much out!

Part of me wonders if...

Ragnarok actually happens right away, complete with Asgard's destruction, and then the rest of the film is about Thor trying to set things right.

I think that might explain some of the weird anomalies we are picking up on in the scenes we have seen so far.

Apparently it is Surtur. According to the comics... He has always been affiliated with Ragnarok. He is a giant fire demon, older than Odin and a equal if not more powerful mystical being. He's suposedly 1000 feet tall, has horns, a fery head and wields an immensely powerful giant sword called "Twilight" which can be lit on fire with the "Eternal Flame" to bring about Ragnarok.

He basically looks like the "Balrog" from the LOFTR.
