I'm back from the midnight show. I'd like to make it known that Tim Burton is my favorite director and I have great respect and admiration for the man.
But this was a disappointment. The script sucked, it lacked that Tim Burton style, and the pacing was very strange. The best part of this movie was Helena Bonham Carter, who played a hilarious Red Queen.
But the rest? Meh. Just... meh.
And now I'm very sad.
i heard that the Wonderland characters aren't as weird or illogical as their counterparts in the books or even the animated film.
i like the red queen too... but anne hathaway was horribly misused as the white queen
Just heard it on the news . Alice In Wonderland will play in dutch theaters after all. I assume that Disney negotiated the same settlement that they reached with other cinema chains as well.
I'm hoping to see the new Tron trailer too. Disney was very early with their Alice In Wonderland promotions ( we get to see trailers very close to the release date. Typically 1.5-1 month before the movie opens) here in holland so i'm really hoping for the tron trailer.
Glad they sorted it out.
Apparently they got guarantees from Disney regarding the gap between future cinematic and dvd releases.
I think that the extra publicity the boycot sparked (thousands of people complained according to reports) will help the chances of Alice scoring bigger at the box office than it would have.![]()
I agree with pretty much of what you said.i really liked the actress that played alice... she was great in the movie, and the only interesting character to me
johnny depp slept walked through his performance.. i think that hound dog and the chesshire cat were better characters.

$100M Weekend For 'Alice In Wonderland'?
By Nikki Finke | Friday March 5, 2010 @ 10:52am PST
FRIDAY 10:55 AM UPDATE: I just learned that today's matinees for Disney's Alice In Wonderland are running ahead of Avatar's so far.
FRIDAY AM: First it was $90+M. Now I'm hearing from Hollywood that Disney's Alice In Wonderland has a real shot at $100 million weekend. Remember, those higher priced 3D tickets will make all the difference. Even so, the Tim Burton-directed, Johnny Depp-starring fantasy flick will certainly earn $75+M.
Question guys. I'm not gonna put it in spoiler tags becuase parts of it are clearly shown in the trailers and tv spots, but how is the fight between the Hatter and the Knave of Hearts?

Woud you guys have liked to have seen more? I understand that Alice should be the main focus of the final battle, but should their fight have had more attention?
Their fight was fine for what it was and I didn't think we really needed more from it .Some people feel the last half of the movie goes by too quickly but i think we got enough in the final fight becuase the outcome is obvious. I wuld of liked to see the Dragon take out some of the card soldiers or something though.
