If only. He's got the perfect look for it. That's the only reason why I'm disappointed that Depp got the role, because he doesn't look the part. Tim Spall just screams Mad Hatter to me.

What about making Tim Spall the White Rabbit? As seen in the Harry Potter movies and in Enchanted, he's pretty good at playing nervous characters as well as the mistreated servant.

Well, Depp hasn't officially gotten the role, we're just assuming since it's a Burton film. Spall has worked with Burton on Sweeney Todd and I'm sure Burton has pondered the thought of him portraying Mad Hatter, because the similarities are uncanny.

Any non-human characters are going to be done via motion capture, so I don't know how much they'll look like their counterparts. The only characters that need to actually be there are Alice, her parents, her friend, Hatter, Queenie, and Tweedledee and Dum. Everyone else will be CGI for the most part.

I thought SWEENEY TODD was the best thing Burton's ever done. A wonderful dark masterpiece, that, and a solid contender for title of "best movie musical."

That said, I can't say I'm too interested in ALICE. Meh.

Tim, when will you start making good movies again like Ed Wood and Big Fish? The last few films marketed towards Hot Topic tweens kind of make me gag, and you're overusing directing cliches and actors and actresses. As much as I love Helena I almost wish she weren't in this at all, I'm getting tired of the fatigued Burton formula.
