Tim Roth is Emil Blonsky/Abomination in The Incredible Hulk!

my problem is that i was really excited to see Abomination on screen since he is my favorite Hulk villain, mostly just because of the way he looks. The one we are getting in the movie though doesn't look a single thing like him, he doesn't even have the feet anymore. the worst part is that the directors explanation doesn't make any sense because it would have been so easy to make him look like the comic in a realistic way. for instance they could have added reptilian DNA into the serum for its regenteration capabilities. or even the evolution argument. the other thing is the general audience wouldnt care at all if he looked like the comics, so why would the director make a choice that will piss of the fans. no matter what he did the general audience would be happy, but keeping with the comics would have kept the fans happy. and of all my friends i've talked to who aren't comic fans, they prefer the comic Abomination design to the movie

That's exactly the same as I thought, it looks asif he just changed it through personal prefence, I really do like the new design but still would rather have something that atleast resembles the classic abomb.

It doesn't really matter to me as this redesign is 100x better than the original Abomination.

I'm going to come right and and say this, but I'm more a fan of the TV series than the comics. Sorry but my mother wouldn't let us read the comics when I was a kid. All I had to go on was what was on TV. So in essence Abom's new look doesn't really bother me all that much.

for instance they could have added reptilian DNA into the serum for its regenteration capabilities.

Maybe they thought such an element would call to mind Ang Lee's Hulk movie causing John Q. Public to think it's a sequel. It seems to me that they want to separate this project from the previous one.

Should the Abomination in the movie have a new name?
Abominator, Abomanation, Abomutation

He's just being called Emil Blonksky. They aren't calling him the Abomination in the movie. :(

Even if they weren't going with a no name angle, they shouldn't change the name.

one thing i've noticed on this board is that the people who are saying that the original design makes no sense and this one is better are the same people who would be praising the design if they went with the comic design

now that the abomination discussion has become such a big deal, they might as well adjust him to be more accurate according to the comics. keep his overall design just add some key characteristics that he is known for. if they can avoid any problems with the fans, they should fix them now- we all saw what happened with ang lee's controversial version. this is what it boils down to- keep abomination the same and have disappointed fans that say he is not comic book accurate or adjust him a little and stay true to the comics and the fans. they can subtly add some missing characteristics but basically keep him the same-

exactly, if they used the comic book version everyone is happy, if they use this one fans are pissed but general audience doesn't care, so ok your biggest audience doesnt care, but wouldnt you rather keep everyone happy???? although when you show a regular person what Abom is supposed to look like they think comic version is cooler (i did this with my friends, show them the trailer, and then the real Abom). and its not like the fans of the new look will be pissed if he ends up looking like the comic

If they could do it right with the big ears, gills and scales and fins I'd be all for it.

He wont go by The Abomination, but he'll be called a abomination(probably) if you get my drift.

There was some other comic character like that in a movie where they just called him that to describe him. Cant remember though

ok again. am i the only one who noticed that ABO's legs are like starscreams???

watch when he runs and when he flys into hulk. look at hes legs.

it doesn't to me. I just think Abom has huge feet, so it looks like that. and the foot of starscream are just his toes. i don't think they bend back. or else it would have been more noticeable when he was running.

He looks like Gollum on steroids, but I can live with it.

I never understood why he looks so reptilian in the comics anyway.

That's true.

Anyway... Abomination in Hulk: Ultimate Destruction wasn't scaly at all. He was big green and had pointy ears. They could have based him off that version of Abomination's look. Although, I do like the movie version. He's cool enough to me. :D

I don't see what the problem is. I think the design looks great (certainly better now that we have something to go off of besides a blurry image of an action figure :whatever:...)

Leterrier even gave us his rationalization and it makes perfect sense. The Abomination would look ridiculous on screen with those goofy ears and scales, anyway. Now quit complaining.

LOL. Goofy Ears. I totally agree. :D

That's why I don't see what's the big deal about him not having elf ears. They'd look kind of stupid in a live action movie, definitely not a big deal.

i am so happy that those comic book heroes didnt wear women clothes back in those days. because now we would have threads like'' why is he not wearin womens skirts. he did in the comics''.

how the hell do you know?... you got a what if machine?

Its a slap in the face to the fans that have read the books for so long, the fans that love the villain as much as the hero, Abom is one of Marvels best IMO. He's like a bad version of the hero, like Venom. Yeah Stan didnt say why he had ears like that or scales but it wouldnt have taken more than 5 mins to explain them. The difference between comic book fans and the general public is that the GP havent heard of Abom, they havent seen him yet. Trust them like Stan trusted the comic book fans. I really dont see why the general public WONT like this

It's not that we won't like it, just that it probably wouldn't look as good as the redesign in a live action movie. Also, it's not a slap in the face at all, a little change isn't bad at all & this change was for the better.

A little change?... lets see, is Emil a power hunrgy *****ebag in the comics? (i'm talking about the issue Stan wrote, not the countless "new" origins), the answer is no. Does Abom's origin involve the super soldier serum at all?... nope. Is Abom's colour Brown/green?... nope. Does Abom have bones sticking out of him?... nope. Is he bald?... nope. Does he have five toes?... nope. Sorry, a litte change is an understatement. Thats like making Hulk bald, changing his colour to pink and making him gay. What?... he still turns into a monster when he gets angry right?
