Tim Roth is Emil Blonsky/Abomination in The Incredible Hulk!

Because I do.

Don't get me wrong here, this is a very well done manip. That said, I'm glad we're not getting anything like this. Looks like The Creature From The Black Lagoon got into Sly Stallone's steroid cabinet.

Hell, I'd give it a 10. Why not? Kicks ass, IMO.

That is an amazing job, but like you, I can now see why they changed the design. After looking at different artists conceptions, I prefer Abomination with small ears versus giant bat wings. That said, I have no problem with him being earless and I'm glad to find out he's actually green (Louis said that fire is being reflected off his skin in the trailer).

For me, the addtion of the bone saws was great. Let the creature more menacing AND trick.

In the comics, yes. And it works. However, I believe Leterrier's rationale makes more sense in terms of the "reality" they're trying to achieve.
It makes just as little sense. Now we don't have a giant monster with scales, we have a giant monster who uses his own bones for weapons. Sure. "reality".

He meant the fact that the Abomination doesn't look like he was gene spliced with a fish.

I know what he meant.

The problem here is that Leterrier says that Abomination with scales and frilled ears doesn't make sense. So he designs a monster who uses his elbows as swords. This makes less sense.

i think he used the wrong words.
the things that he said in the interview just can not be in the movie. they make zero sense.

I believe it. In a comic book movie, you can have a creature that uses his bones as weapons. But the point I am making is that you can't say a reptilian monster doesn't make sense when you are perfectly fine with something that is even less realistic.

He was saying that the Abomination looking like he's mixed with a fish doesn't make sense because it's not like he's a crossbreed between a fish & a human which is why he didn't use the design. This design is supposed to represent everything being more developed than it's supposed to be or more developed than on a regular human which is the whole point of his "bones" being weapons.

Well if you believe that can be used as a reasonable explanation for elbow swords, then I can easily justify a reptilian appearance with the same rationale.

The Abomination's skin becomes more developed than a regular human, so the skin cells enlarge and harden. The result is scales. His ears grow and become misshapen. The cartilage deforms and we get frilly ears. And there we have it! A comic inspired Abomination that uses the same explanation as this movie Abomination. It didn't take much effort.

hows about....the movie is already made so shutup about it already :)

well this is a forum. if we can not talk about it or debate it then what is the pruporse of a forum?

should we all be positive?

This always happens. People ask me to explain myself and when I do, they say its pointless because I can't change it.

Well smart guy, I already have accepted it and I even like the new design. That still doesn't mean I will accept that a comic themed Abomination can't be done. That's what the argument is about. It's not about asking Leterrier to conform to my tastes.

im just saying, theres no sense in debating over something that isnt gonna be done. period

Nope, you're not getting it.

Doesn't matter if it won't be done. The debate is whether it can be done.

Yes, there is. Why did you join these message boards, where most of what goes on is debate about things that won't be changed?

Exactly. By that logic, it doesn't make sense to praise things because there is no danger of them changing it anyway.

this is pretty cool. i guess they could have made it work with it being subtle so that the main audience doesn't really realize they are scales but the fans can have what they want.
the main audience wouldn't care if they are scales or not. Seriously these directors and producers make the most ******ed arguments. So far of every "regular" audience member i've shown both version of Abom too, they all say comic is better

the comic at least (other then black lagoon ears) is much more original and imo memorable. This like i've said before, could be inserted into a million movies and still fit in.

you notice marvel movies USUALLY have villians that actually look menacing.
the actors as these characters looked almost perfect for these roles to me...... most of them at least.

magneto
blonsky
sandman
obadiah stane (iron monger)
jigg saw
mephisto
green golblin
eddie brock(post sybiote)
kingpin
bullseye
black heart(post transformation)
william stryker
general ross('03)
general ross('08)
doctor doom(r.o.t.s.s)
the hidden
new goblin
dock ock
deacan frost
hybrids (blade 2)
draco

I guess the Hulk should have elf ears and scales too, huh? Yeah, all of the Gamma related creatures need to look like human sized fish. :word:

you seriously thought draco, new goblin, the hidden and black heart looked menacing?

are you sure you didn't say as a leading question? :whatever:

Big fan of hulk, but looking at a "living version" of anything is always WAY cooler than a drawing. how excited were you when you saw the first spiderman movie, or when the hulk in the first one came to life. or when you saw ninja turtles, or transformers.

I was gagging over the 8 sec coke commerical of superman flying.

but i do agree that sometimes, the director can take it overboard not realizing just a subtle difference wouldn't hurt anybody.

Sans scales and fin-ears, I think a 12ft tall monster is pretty memorable. I like the new Abomb. I never really liked his comic appearance, so to me it was a welcome change. I think movie go-ers will be pleased.
