Tim Roth is Emil Blonsky/Abomination in The Incredible Hulk!

From my understanding Hulk's creation and Abombs creation are different, possibly different syrums.
Hulk looks to be one injection that turns him into the hulk, Blonsky gets several injections throughout the course of the movie aswell as Banners blood injected into him
That makes me think it's two completely seperate syrums, each having a different effect.

I like that idea Sarg.

Read the spoiler tag for my reply.

Yeah the serums are kinda of different.

Banner tests a very small amount of serum on himself then gets belted with a lot of gamma radiation.

Blonsky has a lot of doses of serum which could have been changed a bit since Banner was running outta time to create it and then his injected with Banner's gamma blood not gamma rays so the effects can be different.

Yeah I know but it was the only way I could of think of bringing Abomination back.

Surely Leader could do something or create his own Abomination?

I actually think it makes sense, Abomb is obviously going to give hulk a ass whippin, Sterns could see this and see that abomb is the best way to defeat/capture hulk as he himself isn't a physical challenge.

It isn't really over explanation, a different syrum that uses reptilian DNA, nothing complicated about that.

If LL felt it needed an explanation then he should of come up with one, not exactly hard to do so, instead he created an entirely different look accompanied by an explanation. You see he had the time to create a whole new look and explanation instead of just trying to work with the original, which can be explained in numerous ways. From here it looks like he just changed it through personal preference, which I wouldn't mind if he'd just admit that.

I agree somewhat and I am playing a bit of Devil's Advocate, I just think adding reptilian stuff seems stupid. I wish they just made it, no explanation.

I blame Nolan fanboys

My biggest fear is that the Abomination will be killed off by the end of the movie. I certainly hope that isn't the case as he could definitely be used for the sequels in some way or another.

Well the elbow swords make sense in the context that the serum was injected into the bones, and that made them push out of their casing.
But as some have said, if they'd of worked something about Blonksy only being able to access some serum from a lizard or a fish, that could of done the trick.
But already that sounds overly convoluted, and what fish/lizard looks close to the original abomination?

I'm still really glad we got this design but if they would've went for the original, lizards & fish would definitely need to be involved some way, otherwise there's no reason for him to look like a mix between a human, fish, & lizard.

Well to be fair he doesn't even need to be reptilian, just bear some resembelance to the original, make him obvious green (not this he's green by different lighting), though darker than hulk, give him point ears, don't have to be huge tho and 2 toes, the abomb fans would complain far less if he'd just done that.

with regards to the movieverse Abom, I'm all for it. The reptilian look with the 'ears' could have been a bad move, think Gremlins on steroids. No thanks.

I think theres less of a reason to actually incorporate lizard DNA than to have a man turn into a scaly monster

well, i dont see what pointy ears has to do with anything(besides being parto the originaldeign). If it was Dr.Spock than I'd protest And ithought he was obviously green(a gross pea-soup green)which would coincide with someone called Abomination

That's what I thought of when I saw the second manip. Although it's good and not too outrageous, I still picture Gremlins.

The ears are a major charasterictic (sp?) of the character, if not the big finlinke ears then the pointy ones would've been suffice as a few incarnations of the character have had them. As for the colour, he isn't green in the trailer, looks just colourless though is apparently green in daylight, abominations though has always been a darker shade of green to hulk. These two things as well as the toes wouldn't made the characte far more recognisable, having his design aswell as keeping the original look in there.

I saw green in the trailer, it wasn't dark green but whatever. Again im playing Devils Advocate, I would favor the original design but i open to the new one. It does look kinda close to the Ultimate one (which means nothing in the long run), but of all the directors reasoning i think "he looks like a mess" was the best one. He actually looks like an Abomination.

I really hope some people from the movie see this or something like it on the internet, cuz it's eight times more faithful to the comic look, and it isn't even much of a difference. But there's only one thing I want them to get on Abomination: HE BETTER TALK ALOT AND SOUND VERY INTELLIGENT. I don't care if he doesn't turn out to be KGB, the FBI or CIA would do fine. Him sounding really smart whil Hulk just spouts out four-word-max-sentences would play off of each other BEAUTIFULLY I think. The way Radical pulled it off in IH:UD worked wonderfully, IMO. I love how Abomination is not only way more powerful(before Hulk get's angry), but how he talks down on the Hulk. As long as they keep away from third person I'm good. A couple "Hulk Smash" and "Hulk Strongest One There Is" would be fine, but they shouldn't go overboard.

I never understood why Abomination was smart while the Hulk was stupid. I'd prefer it if neither one spoke in this move.

Well, that's just not his personality. While I am in favor of the redesign, I do believe that
the Abomination should of had some lines in this movie.

They'd have to make the voice good.
Roths got a good voice, but it have to be synthesized and changed.
Remember how stupid Venom sounded with dorkball's voice?

I don't know, something doesn't look right when a monstrosity is making a speech.

dude read this

"...What might throw you off [about Abomination’s colour] in the trailer is that there’s fire. Since there are lots of layers of skin and he’s kind of transparent, he reflects whatever’s around him. Since both he and Hulk are gamma monsters, they both have to be gamma green. He’s brand-new, he’s a new monster, so he’s unstable and not perfectly green, but he’s still very green. If you look at him in broad daylight, he looks like the animation from the comic book, that darker, deeper green. If I were to show you a picture of the Hulk in that street at the end, when they’re running at each other, there’s so much fire around them that he looks like an orange monster. But he’s not an orange monster — he’s green."

its from the Empire interveiw with L.L.

if you wanna read it from the start here it is

it continues on 11 pages.

I didn't have a big problem with Venom's voice but they would either have to make major adjustments to Roth's voice or get someone new. I'd prefer that they get someone new.

there is none of Blonsky's personality or character in this movie, just a guy named Emil Blonsky that turns into a monster. it's about as close to the comic as Bane was in B&R

The sculpt that people keep reposting would have been really great to use, and maybe the explanation wouldn't be as silly as I assume it could be.

Really, I thought it was awful, it was just so timid and frail... I wanted something otherworldly, possessed sounding and all that.
If Abomination is to speak, we'd need something rough and evil.

and you don't even need an explanation, the general public would accept it just like we have all accepted the comic book appearence without explanation.

it's cool that Aboms eyes are blue just like Roth's
