Tim Roth is Emil Blonsky/Abomination in The Incredible Hulk!

Im not trying to change anyone's mind here. You guys can all think what you want as Hulk fans.

Im just stating my opinion. So stop being immature about it and trying to prove that gamma doesnt do anything, or that this could happen for no reason bla bla bla.

Im looking at it from the same POV as LL...

That's all there is to it.

So accept that as my opinion, as I have accepted yours.

because I have seen no back up to any of your arguements.

i get your POV and thats fine, i just don't understand how you can say "ooo they can turn into big monsters that can be green, brown, whatever from a gamma bomb that in real life would cause cancer and/or instant death" yet you have a hard time believing fins for ears.... :whatever:

I don't have a problem with fins for ears but I really don't care for seeing them, especially with this design.

i still don't think he looks anything like abom, without the fins.. it's pretty much his trade mark... if he can have back fins... he can just as realistically have ear fins *yawn*

I agree - Ok, if we're not getting a direct translation, I would have at least liked to see some of the comicbook A-bomb attributes rendered in the movie version.

Seriously, would it have been much of an ordeal to give him a hyde and skin texture like the above Bowen sculpt as well as the bumps on the skull and the eye brows? Ok, the ears are a big bone of contention between fans so, playing devils advocate, let's leave 'em off, but the whole 'LL fish-attributes justification' doesnt ring true to me.

It's not like there are set rules for gamma mutation - if Blonsky's mutated a little differently from Banner then so what? Man exposed to copious amounts of Gamma radiation mutates into big, green monster. It's not like it even needs much of an explanation. He just mutated weirder than Bruce...............

Simple.

But why go the whole hog and change the design so much that it doesnt really resemble the source material much at all. I hate it when they change things that really don't need to be changed.

I finally get my Sal Buscema-esque movie Hulk up there on the big screen and then they go and toy around with the design of his arch-foe. Bah! :whatever:

Typical.

Having said that, it's definately not enough to stop me from being there opening day and from being excited as hell to see the movie.

Too.....many....COMPLAINTS!

Not really, this is fans who wanted to see Abomb onscreen, what we've got is an abomination (that looks really cool) but not the abomination, it's fair enough for fans to complain.

The movies redesign of Abomination is far, far, far superior to the comic book version. That is all.

if you like generic beasts.. ya it's cool, but nothing screams abomination about him

Actually the redesign does seem plausible. However, I will agree with you that they should have retained some of his original looks.

o i agree it's much more "real world" but... a giant green man is not real world.. why should abomy be stuck in those rules?

I guess the question those people might have faced for explaining the scales and gills would have been how does he gets them. Well, I for one could have said that he was built to be the ultimate killing machine for military, with ability to regenerate, ability to breath underwater and overall strong muscular stature. So the people who created Abomy serum would have somehow included lizard or fish genes in order to have those traits.

Abomb's design isn't bad. It would would been nice to get a line or two from Tim Roth in the trailer, though. It was just like..."Okay, here's a random bad guy! We're injecting him with things! Now he's like the Hulk!"

i dont believe his ear fins are actually gills... just ear fins...

he still looks fish or reptile like with the back fin, so people using "why fishy look?" doesnt make sense because the back fin is there still making it look fishy/reptilian ... and if people really need some kinda reason why he's got reptilian skin.. they coulda easily had his origin be in a swamp... :o

As much as I'm in favor of making these movies realistic, I do think they could incoporate a bit more of the comicbook details. We watch these things for nostalgia, right?

Louis said he couldn't think of a good excuse for the Creature from the Black Lagoon look, but what about gamma rays invoking de-evolution? I always thought of the Hulk in that way (the caveman within) and the Abomination could have simply got a stronger dose that sent him further down the evolutionary line to our reptilian ancestors.

Just a thought.

I like that!

Not to divert this into an evolution discussion, but what reptilian ancestors?! :whatever:

That sounds like the Lizard from Spider-man. It's too much of a diversion. Get over it.

Yeah, I'm jumping on the me-no-likey bandwagon.

God, this is like The Green Goblin controversy all over again. I personally think the redesign isn't as bad as alot of you are making it out to be. It looks good in the context of the scenes we've witnessed in the trailer so who cares? It's apparent to me alot of thought went into the design unlike those crappy Transformers redesigns from the live action movie.

I don't agree about the Transformers redesigns being crappy but I do think what they came up with for the Abomination is pretty damn good.

Yes I know it sounds like Lizard. It was just a suggestion, so nothing to get over.:whatever:

Seriously, this isn't that serious that you all have to start fighting over the design of a fictional character.

The guy raised a good point about why Abom looks the way he does. I still think he looks awesome and menacing.

No one is fighting :). I agree that something like this isn't worth starting a heated debate about.

Yup

Abomb in the comics is pretty much Hulk with fin ears and scales.I don't see why all these people are whining, directors are always going to create and adjust source material for the movies, get over it.

Besides, this Abomb is a much better design that the one in the comic.
