TitanFall

Haha, I always try to have my name in gamertags.. Often the results end up hilarious.

I'll add everyone on the weekend. We can co-ordinate it in this thread.

So you can pre-install for midnight launch if you pre-order digitally. I think this is a game I'll get digital since I would have no plans to re-sell until Titanfall 2. (I don't keep multiple games of the same franchise)

Where can you preorder this digitally? Through Xbox?

Definitely gonna go digital for games I plan to keep long term.

I keep going back and forth. I never trade games in so that's not an issue. HDD space is an issue though. Hopefully these downloads will get smaller or MS will allow larger HDDs.

I won't go all digital until I find out how nice MS is going to play with the external storage.

Yeah storage is the most important thing. At least with price we can wait for deals on everything except the games we need now if we choose. But filling up the storage capacity negates a lot of the advantages of going all digital to me.

I doubt they're getting smaller dude lol.

Killzone was a 50 gig install, inFamous is only 20. Ryse was a 40 gig install, Titanfall will be around 15. It does seem like these devs are learning to better optimize these games.

On a side note, Titanfall will NOT be available to pre download:

Microsoft has removed Titanfall's pre-load page from Xbox.com, as the "pre-purchase offer page was posted in error. We apologize for any confusion."

In a comment issued to Polygon, Microsoft said, "We believe in digital distribution, and are proud to give gamers a variety of ways to purchase and experience their games. However, pre-purchase and pre-download for Titanfall for Xbox One will not be available from Xbox Store. We'll continue to strike a balance between digital distribution and its benefits, while supporting physical games purchase through our retail partners."

Oh I don't mean right now, as the years go by and the games get bigger.

Killzone is just ridiculous though! I can see them being more in line with 20GB now and then rising slowly throughout the gen.

50/500GB gone with your 1st game. If they were all Killzone size, 10 games and you're done! :woot: Even casual gamers would need a new hard drive.

You can use any external hard drive you want

I don't think they've confirmed that. Remember with the 360 the external storage you could use was limited to like 20 gigs. It'll prob be similar here

I don't think they've ever said anything on size. Like Pat said they restricted a LOT on the 360.

I'm 96% sure they've confirmed any external works.

Oh nevermind, that's coming later.

Too bad about the pre-order/pre-load deal but I'm still gonna get this game digital. I don't see any advantage to disc if you're not interested in re-sale as it doesn't save space anymore. Being able to change games with voice commands is a big draw for me to change to digital.

I agree. Disc has absolutely no advantage over digital if you're not planning on reselling. Right now storage is definitely not an issue

Its only an issue if you don't want to have to keep downloading and redownloading these massive installs. I mean if you purchased most of the launch titles, you are already creeping up on that max allotted space of 362 gigs(yea, that 500 gig HDD the XB1 comes with? More like 362).

But of course thats an issue either way, digital or not.

Both Sony and MS REALLLLLY dropped the ball on these HDD's. MS more so, considering they are really pushing the all in one entertainment hub. These consoles should of been a TB at bare minimum.

I agree with you both in that its really hard to find an advantage a physical copy offers(outside of the buy and sell programs). Starting with Thief next week I think im going to go digital from here on out, save for sports titles. Those are the only possible games I see myself trading in.

Yeah they should have been a tb. Is it really that much more expensive

Little late but I'm still reading Titanfall reaction from the beta and I just wanted to comment on the complaint against the AI. Yes, they are dumb as hell but they serve a purpose. I started off not enjoying this game because of my constant dying. Having all players in the map would've made that experience 10x's worse. Not everyone has the drive to push through constant frustration. Killing those AI's absolutely gave me confidence to keep going and I did eventually improve enough to fully enjoy the game for what it is. I know a lot people feel catering to casuals is a bad thing, but I think it works here. It made it a much more enjoyable experience for me.
