It's like every other shooter. Only a little more vertical.
You obviously have not played it

Yep. Wouldn't be surprised if 360 fans of old did similar on Uncharted. Pathetic!

The same types gave The Godfather tonnes of zeros out of 10 on IMDB when TDK came out so it could get to No.1, even though Godfather is likely a film they love too. Poor guys are only allowed to enjoy one side of every piece of entertainment, even when both are awesome and very similar.I remember there was a big fuss when Little Big Planet came out, all the 360 fanboys gave it a super low rating on MC and then when Gears of War 3 came out, all the PS3 fanboys gave it a super low rating. Its pretty much been going back and forth like that since. MC really should remove the User Scores, they don't help anything. Not only does it just give something for fanboys to do, but the avg game player doesnt know enough about what the hell they're doing to create an accurate review.
On the Titanfall front, im still impatiently waiting for the UPS dude.
Being a walking cliche at the moment. Just waiting for the "CoD with Mechs" comment now.He played the Beta, but I don't think he's really into the competitive MP shooter, which begs the question why is he still hanging around this thread?

I think user reviews would be very useful if they had some kind of way of showing that someone had played a game. Eg using your gamertag/PSN ID to review games on an official Microsoft or Sony site.I disagree completely. Sometimes you get fanboys (and employees of the developer and publisher...) trying to either inflate a score or **** on a game, but generally I find user reviews to be far more valuable than professional reviews.
Part of this is, contrary to what you assert, fans of games are generally far more informed about they're talking about than professional critics are. This is because critics only have a short amount of time to devote to any one game before they have to move on to the next one, typically resulting in a very shallow, surface-level understanding of a game. Actual gamers meanwhile, can dive deep and devote a lot of time to a single game, gaining a much fuller and more nuanced understanding of what works and what doesn't.
The other part of it, and this is something that makes most professional reviews of AAA games damn near useless, is that the scores they give are terribly inflated. If professional reviews are to be believed, then just about every AAA game that gets released is an eight or nine out of ten. The reason for this is pressure from the publishers. To be clear, I don't mean publishers are holding a gun to the reviewer's head or waving a sack of money around, but publishers DO threaten to not send review outlets future games if they feel their review is "unfair" i.e. below a seven out of ten. Another way publishers put pressure on critics is they have two separate embargoes; an early one for high scores and a later one for everyone else. It's an incredibly scummy practice in my opinion, but if a critic wants their review to be "relevant" and released early, then maybe they bump their seven up to an eight.
The point is, when you filter out the fanboy crap, user reviews are more informed and not beholden to the reviewer/publisher politicking that goes on, which makes them much more valuable to me personally. Maybe you feel differently, but I think getting rid of user reviews just because of some bad apples would be terrible.
So its just competitive MP? There is no co-op modes at all?
They recommend Attrition but wouldn't an objective game mode be better for people who haven't played as they can still ignore the objective and likely get more kills than they would have in a deathmatch type game as enemies are distracted. Plus if they can't get any kills they can go for the objective.
Oh thanks. Im not much into competitive MP so this probably wont be a game for me. I really wish there was a demo (didn't get into the beta) so I could at least try it outJust competitive. The modes are:
Attrition: If you have never played classic Titanfall before, this is the place to start. Kill anything on the enemy team to earn points towards victory!
Last Titan Standing: Everyone starts in a Titan. Eliminate all of the enemy team's Titans to win. But be careful, there is no respawning!
Hardpoint: Capture and hold the three hardpoints in the map for your team to earn points. The more hardpoints you hold, the faster you win.
Capture the Flag: Steal the enemy flag and return it to your base, while stopping the enemy team from grabbing your flag!
Pilot Hunter: Hunt or be hunted! Kill the enemy team's Pilots to reach the score limit and win.
Variety Pack: A mix of all game modes.
The campaigns are basically just a MP set list with audio/cutscenes adding more context to what you're doing.
Yeah, agreed. And I also prefer objective modes. I think some of these new guys would be better suited starting in those modes but I guess it doesn't matter for CoD where it's not too difficult to get kills and in this there are bots so you're guaranteed easy kills even if you can't kill many other human controlled players straightaway.Deathmatch is usually the most popular mode in online shooters, especially with COD over the last generation. I prefer a mode like Hardpoint or Domination, but it's just the way of things that most people would rather just shoot each other without any other objectives.

Most do yeah. I love KOTH type game modes. Always prefer to be doing something else especially as a team at the same time as going for kills. It seems to me, that people don't care for objectives, in really any game mode, in any game, they just want kills. Iv noticed that here in Hardpoint that the majority of players iv run into treat it like Attrition. That won't be a problem if ya buddy up, but if you aren't, good luck.
On a side note, is it just me or does this game possibly have THE best map layout in quite some time? All the maps are just awesome and so well designed.

Here is the thing, the game is great but I feel that the missed a great single player opportunity that would have had the mix of both Call of Duty and Halo.
And be next gen only so that the 360 devs would have joined Respawn and just made a full gaming experience as a multiplatform game.
I know microsoft and EA's deal affected this, but the game has a very huge potential to be as big as COD which is worth the risk and just have exclusive content for the Xbox Community even if I am a PS fan guy, I do not mind.
I know people just like playing multiplayer, but a very good single player story driven campaign is just as attractive as multiplayer, and the game screams to have both
So does the game itself feel pretty next gen?
