Titans Titans General Discussion Thread

There are actually quite a lot of significant DC characters that are or will be existing in multiple places simultaneously, among them being Batman, Flash, Harley, Boomerang, Deadshot, Waller, Alfred, and Superman (who will exist in SUPERGIRL even if we don't see him for a while), so the Ted Kord embargo does seem to be an exception rather than the rule right now.

We'll see, though, as more info about this show comes to light.

IMO:
Robin/Nightwing (Dick) 20-28
Robin - (Tim) 14-20?
Starfire - 20-28
Raven - 20 - 28
Beast Boy - 13-17?
Terra - 14-18?
Aqua girl - 14-20?

Supergirl - 2015/2016 TNT/CBS? ._.
Kid Flash - The Flash CW :/
Cyborg - 2018 Movies :/

Switch Robin to 1 of the 3 Batgirls and i'd be fine with that. Cass or Steph DC/WB won't really care about being used and almost certainly won't appear in the DCCU.
Barbara wouldn't be a main but imo would be important to a series staring Dick.

Not bad, if true. Interesting that the team is made up of mostly young women.

Yeah, there are a lot of notable male Titans that didn't make the cut. Tim Drake, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Roy Harper, Beast Boy, Cyborg, etc.

You'd have to think that they'll introduce at least one of them at some point. Hopefully they put this in the CWverse, so we could see Roy and a possible future Wally jump over.

I think the fact they're legacy characters is the reason Aqualad and Kid Flash aren't there. Arsenal and Cyborg are being used elsewhere. Beast Boy would be pretty expensive. So look to Terra, Jericho, Bunker and other non-legacies or otherwise occupied Titans. Wonder if they can use Deathstroke.

Even if the show does end up being set in the same reality as Arrow and The Flash, I would rather that they not remove Roy from Team Arrow and make him part of this group. I also don't think we'll see Wally West on The Flash anytime soon, so I doubt he'd show up in this show even if it were to be set in the same reality as that show and Arrow.

I'd love for this to be in the CWverse as well, but I wonder if that'll be possible.

TNT is a subsidiary network of Time Warner, the parent company of Warner Bros. and DC, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be possible (at least legally). I think the only hurdle to this show being set in the same universe as Arrow/Flash/(possibly) Supergirl would be creative in nature.

I'm really happy about Barbara Gordon. Did not expect her.

Speaking of Barbara, I'm glad they don't seem to be giving her a codename, since, as the team's technical advisor and a non-field-agent, she doesn't really need one.

It sounds as if they're definitely going with that version of the character, but she's not specifically referred to by that codename, which, as noted, I personally think is a good thing since she doesn't really need a codename.

Yeah, it's Oracle (even if they don't actually call her that). Since that's my favorite version of Barbara Gordon, I'm all for it. Hawk and Dove instead of Beast Boy is surprising. Not BAD per se, just surprising. The rest is no surprise.

Was kinda hoping for Beast boy but maybe with Beast boy there budget will be through the roof. They could always do him in a Episode though.

Glad to see one of my favourite comic characters in this (Barbara), I hadn't expected her. :atp:

Really hoping this keeps out of the CW stuff.

Why?

Arrow and Flash are, quite honestly, two of the best superhero-based shows to come along in quite a while, and if the quality remains the same for Supergirl, you'll have 3 of the best Superhero shows currently on TV occupying the same reality (since it seems like a given that Supergirl will be set in the same universe as Arrow and Flash even if the 3 shows don't actively crossover with each other).

I think she does. Oliver, Diggle, and Roy always refer to Felicity by her given name when they're doing their thing and it's stupid.

I can't agree with this. Flash is solid, Arrow has been abysmal since the last few episodes of season 2. I'd rather not have this tied to a universe that at the moment is 50/50 to me. Plus I don't care for their takes on a number of characters (Ra's, Huntress, Black Canary, Oliver himself) and if they appear here I don't want to see those versions.

I'm actually not surprised that Roy, Kid Flash, Donna Troy, Cyborg etc didn't make the cut. They're all pretty much tied to other projects or potential projects. WB may feel for example that they'll want kid Flash to appear on the Flash TV series at some point, They're not gonna have two different versions of Roy at the same time on TV, Cyborg is already gonna be in BvS and JLA so they may not have gotten permission for that, Aqualad and Donny Troy again maybe out of the picture because of potential Aquaman and WW films so it makes sense that alot of characters that would otherwise be used are off limits.

That said, I agree that I think it would be badass for the CWverse Roy to join the Titans series. It would certainly give the show a boost and keep in the family universe wise . Then again I'm not sure if this will even be in the same universe of Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl. It would also be pretty cool to have the same Ras and Slade versions appear in Titans.

I'm on the fence about Barbara being on the roster. On the one hand, it's not like any other live-action medium will be using her, but on the other hand I have a feeling they are going to milk a love triangle with her, Dick, and Starfire for all its worth.

I don't know much about Hawk & Dove so I can't make much of an opinion on them, but it sounds like they will have a bigger role in the pilot than Starfire and Raven.... which is odd. Next to Nightwing, Raven has been the one I've been most excited to see.

I hope this isn't in continuity with the CWverse for a few reasons:

1. Arrow's Deathstroke is written terribly. His motivations suck. Manu Bennet is great, but the Arrow writers do him no favors. He's been a joke ever since his turn to the dark side.

2. If Titans want to use Roy Harper, I"d rather it not be Arrow's one.

3. Arrow hasn't been consistently good since the first half of season 2. I'd rather those writers not have any influence on the world of Titans.
