Ah, okay. That last one is really beautiful. It's not perfect, but that's what makes it interesting. The vein detail in the arms is striking.

Greg Horn is a Marvel cover artist who usually does "realistic" paintings of hot female superheroes (like Emma Frost and Elektra).

He's responsible for this one too:

With he and Alex Ross doing TW as Supes paintings "on the side" it's a wonder Tom was "never considered" for the role...

I am in awe. This painting has really captured the essence of Clark Kent. Just beautiful.

I think the reason for the crackdown was because it WASN'T a manip.
I think WB's contracted Horn to do some promo material for Singerman (kinda like what they did when Alex Ross did some TW mock-ups... huh? what? Ahem. )

LOL! Even Welling's mug couldn't save it from that pink nightmare background. I honestly don't know what Horn was thinking - it's so distracting.
