An intimidating or unhinged demeanor can be facilitated by make-up, lighting and camera angles. Acting the part drives it home, especially when it's established that the character is a bastard. Have you seen BB, Tony? Cillian Murphy pulled off a pretty messed-up character in that film, and a lot of people confuse him with Welling because they have similar features.

thing is he was always calm till the mask came on; so really you had the mask to show anger and how mad he was and all. Also in 28 days later he also had the chance to play a person with anger and rage. So yes it worked for him so I knew he could do anger before BB but TW even when he does anger he looks to nice to hurt you. Now crazy on the other hand is something he can do.

so you saying beautiful people can't hurt anyone? just cause they look "too nice"? lol.

no I am not and your puting words into my mouth. I am just saying he doesn't have the face or look to play like a killer or something along those lines.

Yeah, really.

Tony, two words for ya... Jeffrey Dahmer.

;)

I understand, but even if you have a "cute" face, you can still be a killer, and show your anger, now i'm not sure about Tom.. how about this?

Actually remember when Clark ripped off Morgan Edges cars door, I think he played being ticked really well in that episode. It honestly looked like Clark was going to pound some puny Human flesh.

the only time I saw him really pissed that I thought Wow was when the sand guy killed his girlfriend.

HAHAHAHA!!! Well now you know how we feel sometimes, so touché. Don't sweat it, no harm no foul. I know all too well what it's like to have my mind made up about... something. :D ;) :p

Oh, I TOTALLY get where you're coming from. Seriously. Like I said, no harm no foul. I'm not going to try to convince you if you've already made up your mind because *I* know first hand what it's like to be on the other side of the argument. When I've made up my mind, I'm done with it. Trying to convince me into being open minded or whatever is just gonna make me more irritated, so I'm cool. Don't sweat it. Really. :)

What the hell?..

Beauty is clearly in the eye of the beholder. Tom's acting doesnt have much relevance to how he may or may not look.

You're preachin' to the choir, Tim. ;)

PS: From all accounts and trial reports, Dahmer and Bundy's victims were lured by their murderers because the serial killers were attractive. They were only used as examples. A better example would have been Charlize Theron, a very beautiful actress who won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of a female serial killer in the 2003 film, Monster. Make-up and wardrobe did one helluva number on her too.

Tom doesnt need makeup to look evil or scary. Hes a man. He looks tough...like a bull ready to charge. His look isnt the problem.

The think the only thing he should work on is his voice when hes angry. Try to make it sound less whiny and more threatening/commanding...but its a trivial issue anyways. This is a tv show, not an academy award movie.

I think his voice is fine, though there's always room for improvement in any skill. In SV, Welling plays a teenager, so his voice is appropriate for the character. There's not too many opportunities to be "threatening" as Clark Kent, though he's had his OOC moments... "Tell me the truth, TELL ME!" (Splinter.) He does "commanding" well... "You don't want to BE here!" (Run), and he has good timing, particularly with comedic lines. As to "whiny," it's all in the nature of the character being portrayed. Anthony Hopkins turned a creepy high voice into one of the most memorable characters in American Cinema... "Good evening, Clarice."

Welling hasn't had the opportunity to stretch too much in SV, though it's nice to see the writers have been throwing him a bone recently. It's obvious to me he can pull it off now, so I'm glad they're finally challenging the talent and not just writing to it anymore. Of the entire cast, he's been the most improved, IMHO. And I'm not just saying that as a fan; I can cite examples - but we really are in the wrong thread for this and probably should take it to the TW thread if we wish to continue the discussion. :)

Please do, I would love to have a discussion regarding his remarkable accomplishments with regards to his acting. I'll post this little snippet over there to get the ball rolling.

YIKES beautiful ? Are we talking about the same Jeffrey Dahmer?
Cause that was one ugly ass dude lol... Im not gay or nothing but I can clearly say that he was an ugly man... :D

As much as I loathe polluting this lovely thread.. I have to agree with Pat and triplet. Both Dahmer and Bundy were considered "nice-looking" men.

Not exactly my type (the cannibalistic psycho-killer thing has always been a turn-off for me), but Dahmer really wasn't a bad looking guy.

True... They're neither of them drop dead gorgeous but both generally attractive.
