Hypocritical? Gimme a break. Try exasperated. Where's the hypocrisy in being WICKED tired of seeing Routh get brought up in THIS thread? And then adding insult to injury, calling Welling Superboy, when he's the oldest of the three Supermen in that manip? I'm sick of it. Plain and simple. Furthermore, the "package" discussion is pathetic because...

A. the Welling image is a MANIP and not even real,
B. the Routh story was created by a tabloid yet some morons STILL believe it, and
C. the only people making a big deal about either appear to be "adult" men.

Let me clarify something incase you missed the other times it was already mentioned (including the original post):

The character featuring Welling's face in that Manip is SUPERBOY of EARTH PRIME. Hes a character in the DC Mythos and has appeared in Infinite Crisis which is the topic of the picture.

Obviously in regards to the picture itself, Im not going to refer to the guy in the center as 'Superman' because its depicted there as 'Earth Prime Superboy'. Its not difficult of a concept to comprehend.

This has nothing to do with him being the oldest...Personally he doesnt that young to me at all.

That wasnt the reason why I refered to the middle character as "Superboy"....its because it IS SUPERBOY of Earth Prime.

Alright I never said anything against Welling's real penis size...only against how it looked in the picture.

If the Routh story about the codpiece was fake, then its my bad for believing it because I must have missed the thread where it was proven fake. All I saw was the jokes and references to it as if it were real. Personally its not even too relevant here, since Im not defending Routh (who I have no basis for comparison with other actors yet) but just showing how his 'package' looked in the pic to illustrate to the manipper how to get the dimensions better.

And...wow, I take serious offence to you calling me a 'moron' when at the same time you claim your a 41 year old woman and a dedicated fan of the comics, yet you didnt even know who 'Superboy Prime' was....or at least didnt seem to, the way you blindly accused me there.

I couldnt call the guy in the center of that Manip anything else but 'Superboy' because thats what hes depicted as in the picture.

Alrighty. Ill explain though. During the precrisis multiverse days, there was a world called Earth Prime where young Clark (as Superboy) was the only hero.

Earth Prime Superboy was one of the few survivors of the 1986 Crisis on Infinite Earths. He was put into a pocket universe removed from the new timeline of one merged earth (since his earth didnt exist anymore) along with Golden Age Superman and Lois of Earth 2 and Alexander Luthor of Earth 3.

Upon the Infinite Crisis, the foursome broke out of the pocket universe and appeared on Earth Sigma (the merged Earth) so currently there are 3 Kal-Els on Earth during the Infinite Crisis; Golden Age Superman of Earth 2 (depicted by Reeve in that picture), Superman of Earth Sigma (depicted by Routh) and Superboy of Earth Prime (depicted by Welling).

I didn't draw the hair on. That's Chris Reeve's scalp in both pics, warped somewhat to fit TW's head. There aren't a whole lot of pics to choose fromof SV's Clark with a hairstyle befitting a full-fledged Superman. That mop-top style he usually wears just doesn't cut it.

Maybe you'd like this one. I figured that, during a shirt rip, he's in transition between identities and hasn't brushed his hair back yet, so I left his own hair intact.

Who? My first sigh was over the Superboy references. I also found it pathetic that folks were actually debating cod piece size in a bloody manip. And yeah, I do get exasperated when posters go off topic into Routh la la land here, especially since you can't get more in-your-face than posting pictures of the guy in THIS thread, so sue me on all accounts. Guilty as charged.

I didn't say I was sick of people's opinions. I'm sick of the Superboy references. You listening, Crisis? I KNOW who Superboy is. TW isn't playing a young Superboy and never has. You'll never see that character name used in the official synopsis of the show, but you WILL see Superman referenced repeatedly. To manip TW as Superboy is the same as maniping Routh as such; both are wrong and only serve to annoy fans on both sides.

Are we splitting hairs here? Yeah, maybe just a little. But it comes with being a diehard fan of the show and wanting to see some respect for the characters being played. TW isn't playing Superboy now, and you won't see him as that in the finale episode of the show. You will however see him as Superman. There's a big difference. As a fellow "comic book geek" (I say that with pride), you should know that. And I'm sorry for the moron comment. It wasn't directed at you specifically, though I didn't clarify that in my rant, so I apologize.

Milkman, you know as well as I WHY TW looks the way he does on SV. It's all make-up (caked on with a trowel) and costuming so he *looks* like an 18 yo. Nobody here has seen what Welling would really look like fitted in his own Superman costume, or seen him made-up to look his actual age AS Superman. Most people just slap his Clark-as-teenager head on other Supermen bodies, none of which match Welling's body shape 100%. Even one of the very few manips that actually used Welling's own body - DarkB's excellent Aqua manip - still has Clark's very un-Supermanly moptop do and preoccupied, melancholic expression. But if you don't agree, that's fine. I can see it from your POV too. I had one luminary PM me Wizard's DP doughboy scan a few weeks ago with the ludicrous idea that my perception would change because it was a different pose or something. Yeah, ahuh. Righto.

Actually heres a constructive suggestion to Superboy13bt, make Earth Prime Superboy using the face of the guy who played young Clark in Superman 1...that way you could avoid controversy..and it still works well since hes supposed to be young Chris Reeve (Earth 2 Supes) and Routh (Superman) resembles Reeve. Problem Solved.
