Which implies to me, that they are keeping Clark grounded because that's one of the last steps he'll take before he dons the red, yellow and blue.
He wont ultimately fail, because in the end he does fly. It's just going to take alot of practice. Seeing him do this is better than not seeing him even try. In my opinion any way.
Because the show isnt about them learning to be Superheroes. Its about Clark Kent. Who cares if they can fly or not?
Did he say it would be cute? I'm betting that secretly you think it will be cute.![]()
Actually, I dont see the problem in her giving him a few pointers. After all, she can fly. Its not like she's going to be holding his hand when they take off, and then she gradually lets go. Well it might be, but I seriously doubt it. MM cant show him, because his physique is different.
And he's been doing it for six seasons, coming on seven.
True, that's what I love about the show. By asinine I presume you mean some of their more wilder plots and new character introductions, however it may not have lasted as long as it has if those elements hadnt been introduced.
I dont think he's clueless, I think he thinks he's being funny. Someone should tell him that his sense of humour is completely lacking.
He tries not to give ANYTHING away, and ends up sounding like a moron in his attempts to be evasive.
I also see this first lesson that Jor-el has handed him as a test to see whether he can lead the world by example. If he succeeds in teaching Kara by his lead, then he'll be ready to take the next step up, city by city, country by country.![]()
The problem is Kara flying around and giving flying lessons cheapens Clark's eventual moment of learning to fly. Instead of having that wonderful "holy crap I can fly moment" he'll be more like the last kid in the class that finally learns to read. Everyone who knows his secret knows he will eventually fly now, so theres no awe or wonder in it anymore.
