Christ on a Bike! That's a great image

I honestly don't have any idea what the WB are planning in regards to the casting, but it has struck me several times that they might, just might, have another talk with Welling about this. Something tells me that he'd be far more open to being bigscreen superman rather than putting on the tights on a weekly tv show and typecast himself for nothing, which might be a little late for that anyway now, with going on 8 seasons and all.
Either way, I can't help but look at pictures like these and think to myself, what a damn shame it would be if we never got to see him in the part he was born to play.
This is superman.

Nice effort, I guess... that's really all I end up feeling about it.

It did remind me how good Mark Snow's score for the show has often been, and not only when utilizing (and nicely adapting) Williams' material, such as the music from the 100th episode when Clark takes Lana on the cave-to-Fortress trip. Beautiful stuff.
Apparently, a score CD for Buffy, by the show's oft-composer Christophe Beck, was just recently released, and that gives me hope that we could one day see a Mark Snow - Smallville disc. I mean, heck, there's a Joel Goldsmith disc for Witchblade, so, c'mon, now. I'd just hate to think of the legal issues (if any) surrounding the use of the Williams material. It'd be shame if a CD without at least some of that was released.

^^ the beginning looked familiar, but not the end. Don't think I'd seen that one. Thanks for sharing :->

It is amazing that after all of these years. Not one interviewer has every asked Tom directly about playing Supes or wearing the suit.

For it is FORBIDDEN! FORBIDDEN! FORBIDDEN!
Sorry I had a STM moment. :cwink:

There's another poll.

It's on the right of the article about why Kristin left the show:

http://blogs.coventrytelegraph.net/thegeekfiles/2008/09/actress-kristin-kreuk-reveals.html

Who the heck had ever heard of the Coventry Telegraph?

*shrug*

Weird a British paper would have that poll, but I guess it's yet more proof that Tom's fanbase is wide-ranging...

He's currently winning handily, btw, but with DJ Cotrona and Henry Cavill as the major competition, that makes sense... he's the best known name in the list.

But who the hell are Geoff Stults, Victor Webster and Michael Trucco?

Never heard of 'em...

I've heard most of those guys before, but from fans (over at BT) as possible feature film recasting candidates. Weird to see them showing up in a poll.

Frankly, I'd like to know what's so great about SMHP, its a bit cheesy and needs to a new look or something.

A majority of the fans there are pro-routh and liked SR. The guy who runs the site does as well, so the outcome is quite obvious, and despite LL2K2's delusions, not even close to an unbiased poll.

Well, imo, the majority of the members there have great taste then, since I see nothing wrong with liking SR and Brandon as Supes. I like it!

So, if they (SHP members) are biased for liking them, then savesuperman.com and its members are also as biased for hating SR/Brandon/Singer and anything to do with it, right?

And I like the SHP's look. I see nothing wrong with it. It displays the Superman suit colors....awesome! I think it's very cheerful.

You are exactly right. Using a poll from SaveSuperman about the general internet community's opinion on who should play Superman is ludicrous because they are very biased towards Welling. Likewise, using a poll from SMHP proves nothing about the general internet community either.

The difference being that SMHP tries to hold itself out as some unbiased site for "all Superman fans" and they act anything but, whereas with a site like SaveSuperman they tell you their biases up front and act in accordance with them. I have more respect for people I disagree with who are up front about it, then those that try to say one thing but act another way.

That particular online paper has a big SV/Superman fan writing for it, I suspect. :) Possibly even a forum fanboy/girl.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time in recent weeks that they've had something related to Supes/SV. That poll has been up for a while now.

The KK interview did not originate with them, (I love how sites often present interviews as if they were the ones who did the interviewing). Still, it's free publicity for the show, and that's a good thing.

Tom doesn't always exactly scream "Superman" to me, but every now and again...

From the new Season 8 generic preview caps. (But this one being from the Season 6 finale, of course.)

I believe Mr. Bentley is a member here, and posts semi-frequently...linking to his blog...

:word:

Well, that's good then.

Nice to know that the more traditional media types (aside from myself and other fan website reviewers) can also show the show some love.

Yeah, I remember that shot being rather iconic for the show. The lighting, hair, makeup, stance, and facial expression was very memorable.

absolutely. The problem is that the BRB crowd hails it as huge example that "everyone wants brandon" and completely ignores all the obvious biases. I wouldn't deam of sending a poll with (Welling winning) from savesuperman to the media and make such claimes. Its just a bunch of propaganda with no facts.
