I posted the same thing in the Routh thread, too. Let's face it...both parties are at fault here. Both fanbases spread the word. But nobody knew it could be rigged until someone discovered the truth.

Seriously though, the frequency with which you monitor the goings on in this thread is almost disturbing. When I posted that, my first thought was I wondered how long it would take the Ruth Brigade to come in here to discredit the poll..... it's really sad.

any internet poll can be rigged thats a given going in. not to mention that site is a joke and always has been.

I dont think any of the major problems most people had with SR was Routh, Bosworth or Spacey. Change out the cast and you still had the same Lex land plot, Superman still not throwing a punch and the super kid. IMO if they should have done a reboot instead of Superman 2.5

Yea there was alot of things i didnt like in SR. I too when i first heard about the project was actually happening and going to be rolling on cameras was hoping for it to be a total reboot to the supes series like BB was for batman. But then all we got was singer's weaker attempt of donnor's superman 1 and donnor/other guys superman 2.

I really hope the next film we are getting when ever that will happen will end up being a total and complete reboot. So we can finally get out of the silver age 30yr old stuff and bring stuff to a more modern take on superman and other characters. Though if u been following all the superman movie news for the past yr or so things have been flip floping daily with supes between wb and dc.

They all just cant agree to what to do next. Some want a singer/routh sequel, a routh/new director sequel, a routh/reboot, and then a complete reboot.

I believe that was the original intention. To see him suit up in some sort of fashion for the final moments.

But given recent interviews with the new showrunners chances are slimmer and slimmer. I'm sure someone around here can point to a link of the recent interview where they mention issues with the movie division in regards to showing the suit.

They didn't elaborate if this was a restriction on long term use of the suit, and it would still be ok for the finale. Or if that meant they couldn't use it at all.

I for one hope they realize when the time comes you have to show us something. Especially the point the show is at now. I could see a few seasons back just teasing at it in the finale. But hell we are/will be Season 8/9 in Metropolis with almost all of the trimmings.

To me the suit is a must at the end.

well yes they have said that but if we get a 9th season and if there is still no forward movement on another superman film be that sequel or a total reboot it would be smarter for wb to just let smallville do superman suit for an episode or two.

I wouldn't get too worried about not seeing the suit, yet. If there's a season 9 (which looks increasingly likely), then there's a whole 'nother year for them to do whatever they need to do to be able to use the suit. If the series were ending this year, well, I'd be more concerned.

I think their is NO WAY they don't at show him in the suite (even partially) in the finale. I know what the producers say. But, I think it would be a huge slap in the face to fans who have waited 8 or 9 seasons to see it. I think its possible that he could be lying. Get everyone off the notion that you will see it. And then have it in the finale and everyone will be surprised.

Well lets look at it another way say GL starts shooting this year with a release for next year and they keep the Clark Kent/Superman cameo then you will more then likely see that rule enforced same goes if they find a Superman script they really like. SV best bet around this is to hope nothing comes about before the end of this season and just end it there with him in the suit because going another season you have to make him Superman there is no way around that and you have to put him in the suit. And the other problem is who is the say the WB would greenlight another season seeing as how serious they are on a new movie.

it would be so disapointing not to get any sort of suit seen in series finale. I would atless be happy to see his to chest rip with the S shield behind some cloths. Though it all counts on how long the status of next superman film remains and if it doesnt look to be moving any more futher by the time season 9 happens they should atless let smallville have suit for finale whats it going to hurt by the time they even do agree to get another moving it probably wont be happening to 2011-2013 if its soon and by either dates smallville will be long over.

Well, all I'm saying is, right now there's no way to tell what's going to happen. Firstly, I don't know why you think they'd not renew SV in favour of another film right now... Secondly, if the series were ending with this season, which we don't know for sure if it is or isn't, I think it'd be tough to expect to see the suit. Give them another season, though, and that's plenty of time for any complications to be worked out, minds changed, restrictions lessened... etc etc...

Actually, with the next Superman film still in Limbo...Well actually if they started production now. It still wouldn't be until 2010 at the earliest. Warner should just wake up and let Smallville have Clark wear the suite in season 9 and have him be Supes. Thus no conflict with the theatrical movie. Although, if the show gaines in popularity during the "Supes" season. They may want to make a Smallville movie.

Here's a little comment from Smallville magazine's interview with Marc McCkure that I thought was interesting

"It goes back to the believability of that world. I thought Tom just had that. I think he is very good for the part. First of all, his look and stature are believable. The way he listens is a great thing for that character, because Superman is fom a different planet and constantly learning about human emotions. If Tom wanted to go to the big screen, he could do it".
