I read that the fifth series won't be shown until 2010. YIKEs...that's ages away for a TV show...thankfully I still have 4th season to look forward to, but stll..that's A LONG time.

Oh it's worth it Ghost dude

I'm planning to hold myself over with those damned overpriced DVDs of Classic Who.

Of course, I'll probably have to wait a few years to pull myself out of debt after buying series 3 on DVD.

I've recently bought some 4th Doctor. I've been thinking about venturing into 3rd Doctor territory, as the prospect of the Doc throwing down hand-to-hand just sounds awesome.

John Pertwe right...I think that is it.

I wouldn't take that bet against you. You're probably right...for SURE a Christmas special. :) Always a fun one

Okay, have you seen the first season (2005, I mean) of Doctor Who? If not, Captain Jack is a fellow time-traveler the Doctor teams up with (although Jack is a human rather than a Time Lord).

Have you seen the second season? The organization known as Torchwood is introduced there. A quick bit about their origin, if you haven't seen it: [blackout]The Doctor and Rose travel back to the 1800s and end up saving Queen Victoria from an alien resembling a werewolf. After the Doc and Rose leave, Victoria realizes that she must fortify Great Britain's defenses against not only other nations, but from threats beyond the stars. She decides to form an organization called the Torchwood Institute. It's sorta implied (by my understanding, anyway) that Torchwood exists outside the government because they're directly funded and controlled by the royal family.[/blackout] By pure chance (sorta), Captain Jack ends up in the early 21st Century, where he joins the Torchwood Institute in order to protect the human race from alien threats.

I thought it was an OK episode...the next one looks much better.

I think this is a fantastic show...but this episode kind of showed me that despite all the talk about how serious their job is...they don't take the job very serious. Which is annoying.

Yeah, I saw episode two last night and that thought it was ok. Still though, the show has become one of my favorites and I look forward to this Saturday's episode.

Not to be juvenile but that kiss between Gwen and that other girl was pretty happening!

I've seen this whole season before. Prepare to see a lot of gay experiences from quite a few characters.

Meh. Captain Jack's always been an omnisexual. Men, women, aliens. It's all good. :hyper:

I'm Watching it on BBC America right now for the first time and so far I like it. Is there anyplace I can watch the pilot online?:yay:

You have to figure, a man who can't die, probably can't catch any STDs, he's willing to try anything!

The latest episode was fantastic!! :) Really liked it...the Owen character, which I found a little annoying in the first couple episodes is really starting to develop well. Over-all...one of my favorite shows :)

Honestly it just goes to show that we as a society have come a long way. He's the hero of the show and not what has been traditionally portrayed in television/film. Then again it's scifi and the people who watch scifi are usually far more open minded.

But for the records ladies, I am straight and available ;)

I think it's a little nasty. But it's not like the show is about THAT...so I just let it slide.
