Ouch I really hope your joking on that one! thats a low blow. A lot of the rocks roles have been the similar roles; tough guy, but so has Schwarzenegger. Be cool he (the rock) did venture out some from his normal roles and he did a great job being funny. I haven't seen grid iron gang so cant comment on those. The rock would be on par Schwarzenegger acting wise, personally I think the Rock has more potential acting wise.

Wow! I do not agree. Actually for a guy who come from WWE he s doing pretty good . No charisma? Did you saw Gridiron Gang? Even Arnold said that he s the next big guy. I think he s gonna do better than Arnold with time. I like Arnold and Silvester but I think the Rock will go further than just been a 'big guy' he wants to remove the tag that says 'Big guys cant act'. Other than the rock I see Vin diesel as the follower but I have to admit he did some bad movie lately.

He didn't have to rely on a long franchise from one character he made popular. When I say potential I was not talking about box office. I was talking about acting skills. And you probably know that you don t have to be talented to sell tickets....

The bias that people have against wrestling (yeah, it exists), and because The Rock has yet to have a breakthrough performance that shows that he has the power/dominance (hopefully, Southland Stales is that movie). And The Rock can very much act.

Ok I'm all for remakes like Escape from NY, War of the Worlds, King Kong, Fantastic Voyage, Clash of Titans, etc...

But this is stupid. Total Recall (don't laugh) is still my #1 favorite film of all time. I just love it. The film didn't suffer from a low budget, it still looks damn good, and it's not really neccessary to make a remake of this film.

Now a sequel I could understand but even that isn't needed. It's not the type of franchise you want to see continue. It's a one shot deal. Escape from NY deserves it as do the others. Remakes are usually not better than the original when they try to just duplicate them and that's it. That's why I loved Assault on Precinct 13, the remake disguised as a sequel (The Thing), and so on.

This is not needed.

I agree with you 110%. This is one of the few movies i can watch over, and over without getting tired of it.

You know there are two remakes I was looking forward to for years. War of the Worlds and Planet of the Apes. Both sucked major assage compared to the original. However that doesn't mean all remakes will be poor. I can find an reason for some remakes as I mentioned in the 1st post here but I don't really see the need or any demand for this one. Again...if they make it and it looks good I'll probably watch it.
