Toy Story 4

That's how they get you.

Pixar are usually terrible with teasers and trailers, don't worry. This one is actually quite alright.

Meh, that teaser didn't do anything for me. Probably because I'm just wondering if that will actually show up in the movie. Disney has been good at relasing teaser trailers in recent years with stuff that doesn't appear in the movie.

I might be the only person who didn't care that much for Toy Story 3. Thought it was overly sentimental instead of just being a fun movie like the first two.

You’re not. Someone attempted to beat me up in one of the rate Pixar movies thread for putting TS3 on my never again list.

Apparently the draft that Rashida co-wrote was pretty much tossed out, but Annie Potts did an interview back in August stating that her role will remain fairly large.

Of course, maybe Pixar is holding back info (it’s a teaser afterall) but on paper, the synopsis with Forky made me roll my eyes a bit.

And maybe Woody’s still heading out to search for Bo-Peep in the film. I even remember that was the genesis of the original story. The narrative throughline.

Either way, I hope Bo gets her due. While I love Toy Story 3 (my fave), I still find it weird how they wrote her character out.

I hated the third one, actually, but I love the first two (the second one especially for the emotional song)
What didn't you like about it?

I didn't hate it, I just didn't like it as much as I was expecting (and hoping) I would.
Then the implications are what if you make something a toy but refuse to give it a mouth or eyes. It's basically an invalid.
And I thought I was the one overthinking it. :o

What if a kid started using a stuffed animal as a toy. Would the stuffed animal come back to life? Would the stuffed dead animal gain the ability to speak?

I guess it was just kind of cheesy to me. It wasn't really anything specific, even: just like, as I was watching, I was just kind of bored and wishing that I was watching Toy Story 2 instead.

The implications really are huge. Your entire house could be alive; everything a child touches can be brought to life. Frightening.

I can't quite remember the plot and what happened at the end of Toy Story 3. Is Buzz Lightyear still around and going to be in 4?

You don't remember the utter heartbreak that was the ending of Toy Story 3? :csad:

Love the first three movies. I wasn't expecting much from this considering it's still a ways out, but I am surprised by how much I liked that teaser. Not going to lie, but the new character got a laugh out of me and its great seeing everyone back.

I thought it felt like too much of a rehash of 2 (which I guess to be fair was already both pretty conclusive and really hard to top).
How so? And personally, I adore Toy Story 3. Honestly, as much as I grew up loving the first two, Toy Story 3 feels like the film I grew up feeling the first two were. It's a cut above, a true classic imo.

Toy Story 3 is easily the best. But I can barely watch the end of the movie. The feels are too real.

Toy Story 3 and Inside Out have these moments. That are way too on point, and destroy my soul. After Toy Story 3, I didn't think they'd be able to do that again, but yeah. Growing up is torture. :funny:

Toy Story 2 and 3 are great, but the first movie still holds a special place in my heart. Maybe its because I watched it like a million times as a kid.

Up also destroyed my soul. I saw that movie by myself, and was glad no one was near me during that first 10-15 minutes of the movie. I was already wrecked.

Up's opening is up there with Pixar's best work. I fell in love with a character in a montage, and then had her ripped from me in a way that should not have been as painful as it was. My only issue is that now, I don't quite like the rest of the movie as much as the opening. I still really like it, but it is almost downhill from an opening that is probably near impossible to top. But yeah, it is definitely one of those scenes. Pixar is great at showing how the passage of time is us humans greatest curse.

All three films are perfect, I really can't find any flaws that would put them on even a "good" category. The prison escape from 3 and those final moments elevate that film in unexpected, poignant ways.
