Bay may be arrogant and kinda *****e-ish lol but the man knows how to do action and visual effects. He is not a very good story teller though.

You're right hate for a film is better discussed in it's own boards, it's better addressed that way. One thing I'll say is that if bay handled the visuals for marvel films you could pretty much replace optimus in this new trailer with iron mans character and the issue would be put to rest.

There is just a scope difference. Leterrier is awesome and he had the right idea, he nailed the mechanics but not the scale(starting with a depowered hulk and ending with a nightime battle). Iron man had 2 night time finales but then again, spiderman had three so I don't even know what I'm talking about.

Hopefully Thor is as good as you say, him driving around in a truck isn't selling the product to anyone at the moment.

True, it would've been awesome if Michael Bay was involved in Iron Man's visuals because he would've knocked them out the park.

You say TIH started off with a depowered Hulk? I didn't see Hulk depowered at all in TIH, wait, are you talking about the bottling factory fight? Leterrier was going for the whole "monster movie" mystery vibe in that scene, I think he pulled it of quite nicely.

I never noticed the night time fight scenes issue, but now that you point it out I would love for a cool daytime climax. When I was talking about THOR I was just saying that it will have a much bigger than the other 3 Marvel films released so far. Yeah the "truck scene" wasn't the coolest part of that tv spot, but 50-60% of the movie is going to take place on Asgard so that's not a problem .

P.S. - What's this I hear about "Sentinel Prime"?

In the comics, he was the Prime before Optimus, Megatron killed him when he first began his uprising and descent into evil. Megatron actually did quite a number on him despite Sentinal Prime being bigger than Megatron in Megatron: Origin. Optimus then became the new Prime.

They already knew how to destroy Megatron or any remaining bots with the sabre rounds or anything hot enough to melt them. Prime's idea was to eliminate any access to the Cube to keep Megs from building an army or acheiving ultimate power. Loss of the Cube would have meant eventual death for all the Decepticons.

So Sentinel Prime is going to be in this movie, interesting. I wonder what will be his purpose or role in the movie. It thought he died back before Prime became leader of the Autobots or something like that. With Shockwave and Sentinel Prime appearing, it may turn into these two wanting leadership of the Decepticons and the Autobots, or who knows, just speculating. I also think it is interesting that Bay said Shockwave will be more menacing than Megatron, so Im guessing there will be a struggle of power over the Decepticons taking place in the movie. I think Starscream will have a interesting dynamic in that power struggle.

Sentinel Prime looks amazing, Just hope they keep Mark Ryan away from voicing him, don't want him to sound goofy like Jetfire did. Sentinel Prime should be an alternate role for Peter Cullen.

That's fine. Everyone has their own opinions. My thing is people who hated TF 1 and 2 yet you still come here just to cry about how much you hate the movies. I mean really now! Move on to a movie board that you do like or look forward to. There is nothing here for you on the TF movie boards if you hated the previous 2 films.

I mean I never understood the people who hated TF 1 but yet they still went to see TF 2. I don't get it? If I hated a movie I wouldn't bother going to see the sequel. So people who hated the previous 2 films will go see the third movie just the look for things to complain about really. Dosent make sense to me lol.

I hate to go with the cliched if-everyone-liked-the-same-thing-than-these-boards-would-be-boring argument or the if-you-don't-like-to-see-people-complaining-than-how-about-YOU-move-on argument but, well...pick your poison.

Much like the Batman franchise, Transformers has some history that people would prefer to have never existed. But it's fun going on the Internet to debate with total strangers about what they feel is the pros and cons of the franchise. Not trying to be a dick or mean. Sorry if it comes off that way. As for why I saw the second movie after not liking the first one, A friend payed for the ticket.
