People also seem to be forgetting that Bay has constantly been meeting with Hasbro about the new bots to feature in the next movie. Just like the first movie Hasbro educated Bay on the bots and there characteristics, I'm sure they would have dont the same for TF2, and it is in Hasbro's best interest to make sure Bay doesn't screw around with there bots so we can atleast take that into account.

Just on another topic but is that ****** Don Murphy involved with TF2?

Who knows, maybe the writers will be happier this time around and we could get an even better movie.

Of course they will be they just got a great deal out of this strike plus a good bonus for doing the sequel. It's all about money for these bastards...

Orci and Kurtzman were already excited about TF2, they were getting into it when the first movie came out and Paramount green lighted TF2, I can remember them telling telling people that they have all these great ideas and all. I don't think the strike will have a huge impact on their writing ability, sure it will be some incentive.

Maybe im alone but the fact they kept posting on forums that they "dont have time" or that they wont return for the sequel, showing lack of interest, gave me this impression that they dont care and were only lured back by the paycheck.

This has "bad move" written all over. Orci and Kurtzman's original script was pretty mediocre, even when keeping an open mind. The SFX and touchups were what made the film good. Now Bay's doing a knockoff of that by himself? Here's hoping it's either a) one of the best things he's ever made or b) is fixed by a proficient writer.
well...he said he gave his script to the writers.
so...let's hope they make it better.

............and yeah...it's better than SM3, imo.

Really? Well that is odd, I can remember them talking about having a heap of great ideas, hmmm.

Well hey i hope im wrong and they do care about the project! On a sidenote it seems people still don't understand this "Bay wrote TF2" issue...

My good old friend Avangarde, do you know where i can buy the poster with "flaming prime"?

For the people who think Bay is full-on writing the movie...HE'S NOT!

He states that for his movies he likes to write out the basic story outline/chain of events.

It does not mean he is writing the dialogue let alone every single individual scene in the film.

So don't worry, hang in there till we get more news.

Don't bother Fig, they are determined to hate on Bay for any chance they get. I tried explaining it to them before but haters, what can you do...

Can't do much but ignore them I guess.

By the way, haven't seen you around here in awhile. How is the movie making process coming along?

Glad the strikes over............bring on TF2!

Sadly it's not coming at all...i guess work does kill my creativity! The most work i get done is in the graphics department.

So do you mean your day job is getting in the way?

Yeah exactly! I have two jobs on top of that so it's a hassle sometimes. I'm probably gonna sound stupid saying this, but what have i told you before about projects or such?

I just remember back on these boards before Transformers was finished and released you had mentioned a few times you were trying to get some movies/projects started.

Yeah with no success sadly. The problem is not time or anything, it's the scripts, im the only one that's in a position to write the scripts. I'm horrible at coming up with dialogue and im not one bit motivated to write scripts or such. One of our scripts i started last year is only at 6/7 pages and i haven't been able to continue. It's like a block :(

yeah i know...excuses lol

I just hope they make TF2 a stand-alone film, rather than following the path of PotC or The Matrix where they make the sequels interconnected to a trilogy and release them in fast succession.

There is a difference between leaving a film open for a sequel and leaving a film open for a sequel.

At least you have 6/7 pages lol. That's one of the things I would love to do is write. A lot of my friends for motivation tell me to just START writing.

For me it's not that easy, not just because im hard on myself and what I do but I just can't seem to come up with any great ideas.

The other problem is I've read so many books, watched so many movies and played so many video games most of my ideas I hate because I can always think of something that already did it first.

I have the same problem, specially the last part you mentioned i really want to be original. To be honest my biggest influence is Michael Mann, love the way that guy works and thinks about films.

Yeah, I'm trying to think of somethign original that hasn't been done and it just gets me frustrated. Then my friends tell me to just take something that already exists but put a different twist or take on it.

That's also easier said than done lol.

Michael Mann does some good movies. The only one I haven't gotten around to seeing is Miami Vice. Add that to my rental que soon.

It was tough for Bay to go back, he admitted after the show, as he's already deep into pre-production on Transformers 2, which is set to start filming on June 2. Bay didn't let the strike stop him. "The strike was a drag," he said. "But I like to write myself. So I wrote 60 pages. I showed the writers something to look at. We'll get back to the torture chamber on Monday." Transformers 2 will deepen the different robot characters as well as the humor, he said. "There's a geriatric robot. If there's an actors strike we'll just stop and start again. We'll make our date." (The movie is scheduled to open June 26, 2009.)
