Well I just think the writers would be smart enough to not have another Decepticon be named Devastator. Constructicons will be just fine, imho.

To be honest I dont think the general audience would notice a jot, just us, so they could totally get away with it IMO.

I'm in the middle...not much of comic book junkie, so I wouldn't know much of anything within what's in a comic, the "true" version of a Transformers, etc., but as a fan of movies, I'm very much into continuity(why I didn't enjoy Spider-Man 3, or X3), and I just think having two Devastators screws up continuity with Bay's TF universe. Sure, the first movie wasn't perfect, but it was something you can understand, and I did...but two Devastators will just be something that isn't necessary, you know?

Even if he does it wouldnt matter.

The "TANK" was named Brawl according to the writters in the last film.

It was Bay that chose to change the name to "Devastator" because he thought it sounded "COOLER" then Brawl.

So wether Ehren Kruger or the other writters know enough about TF's is irrelevant when Bay is involved.Bay would call him "Cuddles" if he thought it sounded cool no matter what the writters say.

It doenst matter if the writters know better then to name 2 characters, from separate films, the same name because Bay will re-name him how ever he see's fit.

..and lets not forget that in everything outside the movie he's still called brawl.


I wonder what line they'd use to cover that up though.

I actually heard on the news last night that Dreamworks was spending a big chunk of change promoting Monsters vs Aliens during the Superbowl. It involved giving away 150 million 3-D glasses at stores so that people could see the spot in 3-D. Katzenberg says it'll "involve tens of millions of dollars."

That's pretty nuts.

And TDK proved that you could get away without a peep at the Superbowl. Granted, the marketing was still laying low after Heath Ledger's death, but...anyway.

It was either 1 of the Prequel Novels or the movie adaptation in novel form.

I bought them all and read them all once before I put them away.
