I'm definitely excited about the score coming out, and hopefully it outsells the first TF soundtrack (2007) that had all the crappy rock songs.

you demultiplex the 5.1 track from the dvd, run it through a program that splits each channel into 6 individual mono tracks. In the case of Transformers the 2 rear channels have the music and some sound FX and the front channel only dialogue. Its far from the quality of what will be on the Score CD, bass is mostly out the window though i assume anyone that knows how to adjust channels in an equalizer can probably improve it a little. But it allows you to ear all the little music cues that are throughout the movie and get a better sense of all the themes. But i reinterate, buy the CD. This is a makeshift substitute for people that just love this film, love the score and are bitting their nails off until the 9th. And once more, KUDOS FOR STEVE JABLONSKY.
I would do that sometimes with my home theater speakers while watching classic episodes of G.I.Joe and Transformers just to hear the music.

Amazon or CircuitCity?

Would CC have this on the the 9th?

or Amazon with prime? 11th.

or BestBuy price match with the 10% off coupon?

Well ladies and gents I've been keeping track of this topic since it's very 1t post and I figured it's time i actually posted on it. It seems as if the "Arrival to Earth" track has been leaked on youtube.....all i can say is WOW!!! It is so moving. Now I really can't wait for the 9th. After all of the hype, the promo, the extended promo and the fan tracks, we are only 2 days from the score. I'm flippin happy lol.

I'm trying to avoid the "arrival to earth" track until I have the cd in my hands and I put it into my surround sound system :woot:

I've also been following this thread for a while now, and have found it very interesting. I've really tried to not 'over-listen' to the few score songs that are have available as I want to be completely blown away on Tuesday. Even tho the Arrival to Earth song is on YouTube, I aint goona watch it till after I've given the score a run thru for myself. I've waited since July 4th as have many of you, for the score, and now that it's 1 day and 19 hrs away, its really getting to me!!! I dont think I'm goona make it!!

But really, Tuesday is GOONA kick SOME Azzzzz... cya then.

Autobots rollout.:trans:

I so wish I could avoid everything and wait for the CD, but I can't.

Amazon is preparing it for shipment. WHAAHOOO!!! :hyper:

Ahh...I'm not even looking. Not like I could anyways...on this old piece of....*mumbles something incoherent* :oldrazz:

It's nice. It's mono, and youtube, but it sounds alright.

However, the Wal-Mart in my town is open 24/7, and I'm going to get the score tonight at midnight. Yeah, I'm a nerd, so sue me. :p

i looked. i found. i listened. i listened again. and again. and again. and even with bad sound quality, this is by far the most beautiful, awe inspiring piece of music i've eard in a long time. I can't wait for my CD to arrive because if it is this amazing at youtube level of sound quality, it will shine like a star in my stereo. And if all the other tracks on the CD have been treated as "Arrival to Earth" then, people, be prepared to be blown away...and have the tissues ready.
I've said it before and, hell, i'll say it again. Steve Jablonsky RULES and if there's any justice at the academy, he'll get that golden statue. he already has...in our hearts.:yay:

Sorry for disturbing you hype but this "Transformers is the greatest score ever" and "Jablonsky is the most talented composer who ever scored a movie" gibberish is such a bulls.hit.
The matter of fact is that the Transformers score sounds just like all the other MV (Media Ventures) scores. There's nothing special, nothing groundbreaking in this score. Just listen to all those other MV scores ("The Rock", "Armageddon", "The Island", "Crimson Tide" and so on). You will find out that all of those scores including Transformers have the same type of melody, quite the same arrangement, and almost the same instrumentation. Don't misunderstand me. I like the Transformers score as I like the other MV scores but it never has the ingeniousness of a Morricone, Goldsmith, Williams or Horner score. And everyone who argues the converse has either never heard a REALLY good score or is blinded by the hype.

ouch dude seriously, I mean no one here thinks that this score is anything groundbreaking or up to the standards of any of those amazing composers you mentioned but seriously no need to be so critical. The score is just like the movie itself, fun and entertaining. It isn't thought provoking or life changing but don't you think it deserves a little more respect considering all those signatures and demands for this score. And I'm pretty sure that I've never seen a comment saying "OMG Jablonsky is the best composer EVER", thats just not true.

EDIT: OK maybe someone may think that he's the best composer ever lol but hey that's their opinion, maybe they'll listen to a Williams score or a Horner score and decide that anyone of them is better. What I'm trying to say is that not everyone has the same taste in music, what you may think is a masterpiece may be crap to another, just don't knock down someone's enthusiasm about this score....it's been a long time waiting.

In all honesty, I LOVE John Williams work and Howard Shore and Hans Zimmer....but there's something with Jablonsky that made this score perfect for this movie.

I've listened to many scores in my time. I know I'm no expert, but I think Jablonsky and Williams ARE the best. It takes a real genius of a composer, as these men are, to touch a person's heart and soul with music. Now I'm not saying there aren't others just as great or will be in the future, but with just my personal opinion I would say they are some of the best ever. And I am ever so thankful they have blessed us with their gifts.

As far as the complant that it sounds like other soundtrack he has done... of course that is going to happen. Look back at old essays or drawings you may have created. They all have a similarty in them. Aka your style. Another composer named Christopher Young co-composed for Spider-Man 2 & 3. If you have ever heard the full score from Spider-Man 2 you know he did the music to the train fight. If you have the Ghost Rider score, he does the same thing.

In all honesty, I LOVE John Williams work and Howard Shore and Hans Zimmer....but there's something with Jablonsky that made this score perfect for this movie.

That is the best way to word it... 'JABLONSKY MADE THIS SCORE PERFECT FOR THIS MOVIE'

Could he have made Revenge of the Sith music... force no! However Transformers is not Star Wars, Pirates, or Batman... its Transformers! The movie is fast, some times silly, and in its own comic book style poetic. And that is what the music is.

I'm a big fan of John Williams, James Horner, James Newton Howard...and, heck, even guys like Max Steiner and Alfred Newman but I'm also a big Hans Zimmer/MV fan. I know there's nothing groundbreaking in Transformers but you can't deny the fact that it's got people hooked and really contributed to the film.

The majority of what makes a composer's score good is whether or not their style fits the film. Williams may have been good for Transformers, but not many other composers' styles work for the material. Jablonsky has worked as an understudy with Williams and Zimmer, which is what makes his style similar. Would you really want James Newton Howard or Danny Elfman scoring this film? Even Howard Shore, who's LOTR score was beyond epic, but not the kind of composer needed for TF
