Well, I was unable to go see it last night due to the record levels of snow hitting Britain in the last few days; cinema got closed and I got a refund. Will have an impact on the U.K. box office opening, I would have thought.

Hoping to see the movie on Tuesday now instead.

Seems that the score is being universally praised [and rightly so].

If anyone had have said to me a few years ago that Daft Punk had it in them to construct not only a movie score, but one as good as the one they've made from T:L, I'd have laughed in their face quite frankly.

This is why I started a Talkback thread, so I wouldn't have to open all the Spoiler tags...but when in Rome...

I was very disappointed with Tron's role.

I doubt people who haven't seen the original will have as much a problem with this, but...

He was practically nothing in this for the good guys. I kept thinking that they would need to reactive him, re-start his security mode to have a chance with CLU. Weird to have his name in the title and have such a poor role. When Flynn realizes Tron's alive and states there's "hope" I thought "Okay, here we go."

Then Tron does nothing really significant in broader sense. Yeah, he turns back to good and crashes into CLU but that does nothing to stop CLU.

And that's why it's so hard to please fans, because we're all fans for different reasons.

Yeah, that's the only thing that disappointed me. There should have been a fight.

Who else thought that Sam was..gay or a-sexual? Most likely asexual.

He's surrounded by beautiful women and he seems unaffected by any of them. Even Olvia Wilde's charactger until the end.

I hope the momentum keeps moving.

Usually when it's in the 40 million dollar range, anything goes..

Saw this last night. Me and my son loved it. It was his first movie in theaters. He already wanted the toys, now he HAS to have them. I hope Santa comes through.

Loved the movie, but I was really hoping
that Tron would show up in the end to fight off Clu, however the sequence where Flynn merged with Clu was really beautiful looking so that made up for it.

I saw this movie in 3D and too be honest, I didn't feel "wow-ed" by it. It wasn't bad 3D by any means, but there were only a few moments that I thought it was truly impressive.

Same here, mainly because I want to show the movie critics that even though they bash the film like in the past with the original . Once again the fans rise up and show them their wrong.

i think if i got beamed into a computer I wouldnt be thinking about booty...probably...somewhat...ok yeah

The score is possibly the best thing about the movie (aside from the mostly very impressive effects). It's not even the type of stuff I normally enjoy but it worked like crazy.

43m isn't good at all considering the enormous budget.

well you have to consider that this is the big travel to where ever you are gonna spend xmas weekend. I know lots of people who were waiting to see it back home with friends and family. With school being out and holiday vacations there will be nothing keeping people from seeing it over the weekday.

it isnt necessarily but with the positive buzz coming from the general audience and the only big release coming this week is Gulliver's Travels, its going to do a repeat business similar to avatar for the next 2 weeks. The budget for Tron Legacy is $170 Million

tron tanked…

$170 million+$100 million marketing=$270 million budget
it only took $23 million internationally(which is a huge flop) and US market is $43,6…

Friday opening for “Avatar” — $26.7 million
Friday opening for “Watchmen” — $24.5 million
Friday opening for “Clash of the Titans” — $26.1 million
Friday opening for “Alice in Wonderland” — $40.8 million
Friday opening for “Iron Man 2″ — $51.2 million
Friday opening for “Inception” — $21.8 million
Friday opening for “Shrek Forever After” — $20.8 million
Friday opening for “Despicable Me” — $21.3 million
Friday opening for “Tangled” — $19.5 million

Friday opening for “Tron: Legacy” — $18 million (estimated)
it could not even top Despicable Me and Tangled…

I felt bored watching Tron. The story sucks. The cool thing about this movie is Daft Punk music score and the battles.

A lot of Europe (certainly the U.K.) is experiencing some of the most extreme weather conditions seen for years, leading to many cinemas being closed; when the worst of the weather is over in about a week, there should be an upturn in viewings.

'What?! You mean I'm actually inside a computer?! WOW!

>pauses<........

so, urm, where do all the porn programs live?!'

:woot:

just got back from watching it...and i actually had a blast! i was expecting to be disappointed but i came out with a good feeling. it wreaks of a first time director's mistakes, it had stale dialogue, the acting was bland, the action scenes weren't kinetic, but i still liked what i saw. maybe it's the visual snob in me, maybe my expectations were lowered from seeing all the reviews, maybe the movie actually worked.....but for whatever reason, it won me over.

yes, there could have been more substance, the story could've been better, the world could've been fleshed out more...but i really enjoyed this movie regardless of the potential that wasn't used. regardless of the money it makes, i hope there's a sequel....and i hope they get a better director.

I think not enough ppl give this new director enough credit. I mean............THAT was his directing debut? TRON LEGACY? Far worse directors have premiered with less average films that have been favored and praised much more. Bull. ****.

I was going to say for a first time director he did pretty good.
