Very cool, though for some reason i can't imagine Disney doing the tv series like that.

Shame really.

What is wrong with something like this?

And why put "the original classic", I'd assume it's pretty much implied. Also, why does Disney feel they need to put those ****in' ugly ass borders around Blu Ray's. As far as I'm concerned, the best Blu Ray cover designers are the ones at Criterion.

I mean, it's simple and elegant. You know what the film is and who made it, and you know it's a Criterion release, but it doesn't beat you over the head with it.

Ugh... that Tron Blue Ray cover is terrible. He looks like a futuristic Heisman Trophy or something.

depends if you like the movie or not. or if you are in the middle.

fact is that this is a huge IMAx,3D,... realese

need to see this again. All I can think about is the amazing Tron Grid!
I don't know how people can complain. This movie is pure escapism, absolutely awesome.

People have been fed on so much crap in the last 10 years, they fail to see some good old escapisma and sci fi fantasy. Tron Legacy is bloody awesome.

Bring on the sequel.
I like this guy, and this is pretty much exactly how I feel. Most everyone I know has been trying to convince me that the movie was, and I quote, "Terrible," "Predictable," "Boring." This negative feedback begins spreading, and more than a few of my friends have overheard it and decided not to see the movie. I wish this weren't so. I can hardly believe what I hear each time. Year after year there are tons of disappointing movies, and I refuse to call TRON: Legacy one of them. When I see that movie, it takes me on a ride for two hours that I will never forget. The amazing direction, the groundbreaking special effects, the flawless soundtrack, when every piece of this film comes together, it makes dreams come true, man. :word: Having grown up on the original TRON, I couldn't have asked for more with the new movie. I saw it again with a buddy last week and, although it was in 2D and no IMAX as with my first viewing, it was still totally unreal. I'm so into this movie right now, and it's become one of my all-time favorites. I put a poster up in my room, got the soundtrack and listen to it nonstop, and I'm going to have the video game (Evolution) very soon. I can't wait for the movie to come out on DVD! The only thing that I do want to say in contradiction to the post I quoted above is that I'm not too crazy for a sequel just yet, I sincerely don't want it to be rushed or fall under the curse of the third film in a trilogy (see Spider-Man 3 and PotC: At Worlds End). Honestly, I don't mind if they take their sweet time with it, even if it's a fair amount of years away and they put a terrific amount of effort and talent into it as they did on Legacy, so long as it comes out in my lifetime. :yay:

totally agree. I don't know why people are saying this movie was "boring" or not good enough, when in actual fact it was perfect. It was escapism I haven't experienced since seing classics like The Last Starfighter. It just had the feel of a classic 80s sci fi classic but with modern special fx and insane music.

There is just something about that Grid and the whole TRON world that is so mysterious and exciting.

Brilliant movie and gave me some of my childhood back after seeing so many remakes and reboots over the last 10 years.

my copy of Tron: Betrayal finally came in the mail yesterday
hopefully going to read it today :D

You keep hitting the nail on the head, man. :woot:

Nice pics up there! ^

Oh and by the way, my copy of TRON: Evolution for Windows came in the mail today! I'm going to go install it soon.

I was positive Tron was gonna make far more than Inception.
It should have.

Others in this thread have already said most of what I feel. This film is simply beautiful, both in it's truth to the original, and it's serious evolution of the Grid and everything in it. It's powerful, and moving, and simply fun. It deserves to make a lot more money than it has, and sadly, it probably won't make what it should.
